Stay safe everyone and remember you are deserving of love and care and food is fuel!
I recently contacted my vegan about the fact that their vegan omega bottles waste a lot of plastic, as they only fill half of the container. I explained about how it seemed contradictory when the website talks about offsetting their plastic when they are contributing to excessive plastic waste, and that just reducing the size of the bottle could make a big difference. They ignored all of my points and just replied “we have no plans to change our packaging”. As a brand ambassador maybe you’d be able to apply some pressure to them to improve their environmental footprint? Love your videos ❤️
I'm not vegan, and my husband is always annoyed when I make vegan recipes, but I made your Sticky tofu recipe a couple weeks ago, and my husband raved about it. 10/10 would recommend
So my dad also has a iron deficiency and he swears by a broccoli Tofu chickpea hummus stir fry. The most important thing is to always pair your iron rich food with a vitamin c rich food (some combination ideas are to drink Orange juice(vitamin c) with a bowl of oatmeal(iron) u could top the oatmeal with kiwi or strawberry (both vitamin c sources) or dried apricots (iron source) and dark chocolate (iron source). U should avoid drinking caffeine after or before a meal since it hinders iron absorption. Btw did u know that weetabix is high in iron? Anyways i hope i could help somehow, maybe u already knew most of the stuff i told u, who knows. The funny thing is , is that my dad has an iron deficiency and me and my mom have hemochromatosis, a gene defect which makes our body absorbs and stores too much iron so i actually have to do the opposite of what i just told u. Ok this was pretty useless information im just rambling at this point sorry hahsjs.
Well supplementing is probably the best option or eating vegan foods highly fortified in heme Iron. Make sure it's Heme iron mainly found in red meat 😱 I know but the purpose of the nutrient is it helps your body absorb non-heme irons which are mainly found in plants. Watch your b12, your DHA levels etc: Me personally I think any diet where you have to take supplements or highly fortified isn't healthy. Be a veggi, be a pescatarian just be healthy
10:02 I would definitely need some crunchy cucumber for that salad but apart from that, sounded absolutely lovely! I love lentils, sundried tomatoes and tahini so I am sure this was delish!

Highly recommend a rice cooker, pretty cheap and perfect rice every time. Try to choose one with a 'keep warm' function. Mine even does congee which is a bonus for an easy hot breakfast. Not an essential, but a really really nice to have 😄 (and frees up a hob!) x
I was just about to comment the same, it's so underrated here in the UK. I got a proper asain one from Amazon and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made lol Rice cookers are essential!
You would be surprised how easy it is to make vegan kimchi! We've just made a batch this weekend and it usually lasts a good few months. Definitely give it a try if you're a big kimchi fan :-) Thank you for a nice video!
Hi I make homemade salad dressing. It's good. I add olive oil, bit of balsamic vinegar, bit of apple cider vinegar, 1 or 2 tablespoon of honey, oregano, italian herbs, a bit of salt. When ready to serve add parsley, basil leaves. 🙂
This is EXACTLY the inspiration I needed for a beginner vegan :) thank you SO much for listening to my request. Definitely kicked me into creating some new food ideas and inspiring. Very Happy!! ♡ xxx
Lately I've been killing salads. Tahini is key to make it delicious. I also add the sun dried tomatoes and olives. It's so versatile and adding different ingredients makes me never get fed up of eating salads. For example today I added heart to palms!!
It's so nice to see someone showing what they realistically cook and eat in a day. Your recipes are so simple and without ingredients that are expensive or difficult to get, I really like that! One question about the rice cooking hack: Do you stir the rice while it boils/simmers or do you just leave it? I've heard you're not supposed to stir it but wouldn't it burn easily?
Thanks so much! And just leave it for about 10-15 mins on the lowest heat with the lid on, and remove it from the heat once the water is absorbed and leave it to steam. No need to stir just fluff with a fork when ready to serve

This is our family favourite way to do tofu, I just love your recipe - delish!!! thanks Maddie :) I always do my rice in the instant pot (white rice) - 1 cup of rice : 1 1/2 cups water, or 2 cups of rice: 3 cups of water if you want leftovers - manual button, high pressure, sealed - 4 mins - 10-15 mins natural release for letting out any steam - perfect everytime :) that dress by the way - the colour is stunning on you xxx
I'll have to try that tofu recipe. I'm not that fond of tofu mainly because of the texture. It's certainly can't be the flavor. But I'm the same way about chickpeas. They don't have a lot of flavor but I don't like the texture. I love hummus, though. Anyway, I will try that recipe. I was concerned about getting enough protein when I cut out animal protein and I mentioned my concern to my doctor and she said eating a lot of beans and brown rice (she emphasized brown rice, of course) and whole grains will generally take of that issue. She's vegan herself and seems extremely healthy so I feel confident that she knows what she's talking about even though most doctors don't get a lot of education in nutrition. I never count calories or worry about portion sizes, either. And after talking with my doctor I stopped worrying about protein. I've lost about 40 lbs (I'm not sure what that is in stones.) in about a year and my BMI went from 29.0 down to 23.4 and my original intention wasn't to lose weight, although I obviously needed to. I just wanted to be healthier and I am.
Madeline, you are an amazing person and I'm proud of you for sharing your humanity with the world ❤ I can certainly relate. I wanted to say congratulations to you and Alex! I wish you a blessed marriage and continued success! Sending love and support from across the pond! Wendy

You can can get vegan frappuccino at most chain coffee shops in the UK! I usually drink at Costa so I'm not 100% sure on Starbucks or Cafe Nero but Costa have always been great about helping me modify frappuccinos to make them vegan (you need to double check which syrups and drizzles/toppings are safe, just switching to plant milk doesn't make them automatically vegan) Still, it will save me a lot of money making them at home now 😂
0:44This smoothie looked amazing and must have tasted equally as great guessing from the ingredients! Having said that, to me no drink is satisfying enough to call it a meal. Maybe on the go, when I really don't have time...but still, probably would compliment it with some kind of protein/energy bar because I just need to "physically eat" :D
I marinate my tofu very similarly, most of the time I add some peanut butter and rice flour so it sticks better to the tofu and bake it in the oven for 20 min, then it’s not sticky but more crispy. Soooo good, I have it at least once a week
I always find temps and how people react to them fascinating- I live in California. It is 77F/25C right now, 12:14am. This whole week it has been 108F/42C. It is normally more like 100, but the climate is changing so quickly. I am jealous of your garden, this year only the tomatoes and peppers survived the insane heat. Love your blogs.

Everything looks so delicious. I'll be trying that tofu recipe for sure! Thank you for sharing these types of videos, they're very helpful for those of us who are trying to switch to a more plant based lifestyle.
Love the salad idea with the beans and lentils! Also in the U.S. the Starbucks mocha powder doesn’t contain any dairy, so if you get a mocha made with plant milk and no whip or chocolate drizzle it’s vegan!

That smoothie looks fantastic 😋 Madeleine and I will be making the lentils and walnut salad because I love salad during the summer months. Love 🥰💕 Madeleine and Alex.
I'd move to the UK for the summer in an instant, because where I am (Bulgaria) it is 40-45 degrees and it's been so hard. It was never like that before.
Damn it! Now I really want your sweet and sticky tofu for dinner. Lucky I have all the ingredients. 🤩 I was watching this while eating your Caesar salad recipe, although I swapped out the tofu for some vivera chicken tenders. It’s amazing, I eat it several times a month! I just love your recipes, I’ve made so many of them now. 🥰
We’ve got a temporary white work surface while our new kitchen is being made and we love it so much colour-wise, especially with Mister David on the walls, but it stains so easily 😭😭😭😭
I like the idea of smoothies but they always come out a bit… lumpy? When I do them. Any tips for making nice smooth smoothies? I use a magimix food processor so I’d expect that to be strong enough to blend it all properly?
hi! what flavour of protein powder do you use from myvegan? i want to order some but i have no idea where to start! a recommendation would be amazing!! Xx
Hello in Nova Scotia. I lived there for 50 years but had to move to Ontario near my children when my husband died. I still consider Nova Scotia home even though people are very nice here.
Your lemons and limes over in England always are so juicy! For comparison the lemons and even limes that I buy here in the US flare up my carpal tunnel if I try to squeeze them with my hands 😂 I have no choice but to use my lemon squisher. I wonder if they differ in flavor because of that? 🤔
My Indian husband recently turned vegetarian. He is planning to go full vegan soon. And I am very worried about his health, especially skin and hair. When we did his blood test and nutritional analysis, it said that he is a meat eater. Looks like all arguments are falling on deaf ears, and he isnt turning back. How do I keep him healthy? Love from Turkey ❤️❤️
To be honest it’s his life so just leave him to it. The more you fight against his personal choice the more unhelpful you will be. There is no reason why someone can’t be totally healthy on a vegan diet. In fact lots of people seriously improve their health when going plant based. I’ve been vegan for over 7 years and my skin and hair is the best it’s ever looked.
High protein recipe videos like this are a great option to keep hair and skin healthy! Also eating healthy fats helps. I understand your concern but as long as he eats enough he will do great. Also make sure to take vitamins like b12,d3 and dha which are harder to get when vegan.
Never compare what you eat to what I eat! We have different bodies, different needs, different health, different lifestyles, the list goes on. I never count calories or the amount of protein I am consuming, but wanted to share some ideas if protein is a concern for you.
Xx
I used the unflavoured vegan blend xx
@@MadeleineOlivia thank you!! will be getting some now :)
What was the other orange fruit, besides mangoes, that you put in the smoothie?
Carrot xx
@@MadeleineOlivia Oh, nice :)

Great video - delicious and nutritious! Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
Thank you!
Hello in Nova Scotia. I lived there for 50 years but had to move to Ontario near my children when my husband died. I still consider Nova Scotia home even though people are very nice here.
How do you get hold of the tahini?
Miles kindly sent it to me but you can order online!
@@MadeleineOlivia thank you. Love your videos BTW. 👏♥️
Do u use hulled or unhulled tahini
Magnums my favorite!
I don't think frappuccinos are made with ice cream, just blended ice, milk and whatever syrups.. so you definitely can make them vegan!
Honestly most fancy drinks are veganisable at Starbucks nowadays including all their new summer drinks!
Everything looked so delicious, especially that ice cream bar😜
its so funny coz 23degrees in Australia is a winters day lol and thats in the semi colder parts of the country, not the tropical areas :)
I understand your concern but
as long as he eats enough he will do great. Also make sure to take vitamins like b12,d3 and dha which are harder to get when vegan.
I definitely don't eat enough tofu anymore, going to try this.
Could you please do a hair care routine 🙃
I shared one recently on my IG!
Love your dress 💙
Seal of approval by @Durianrider
wonderful! 💘
Why nutricionists say smoothies cant be considerated a meal while soup can 🙄
Love that dress!
You need to get yourself a rice cooker, they save so much faf!
Loads of vegan frapps at Starbucks - and they have vegan whipped cream :)
Salad looks so good. If that kitchen was messy. Then mine is cleaned...😆😁😠
I love smoothies but protein powder always ruins the taste for me 😔
Honestly can’t taste it in this recipe! I used the unflavoured my vegan protein blend xx
Yaay
23 in India is like having a cool whether 🤣😅
