Outstanding build ! How I envy you, I have Carpal tunnel and can't do that stuff anymore, but watching your videos is like me do it. Hope you and your have a great holiday season ! Tony
Spectacular build, the only surviving Kagero class destroyer that survived the war. I plan to build all Kagero class destroyers that where at Leyte Gulf, in 1944, in 1/700 scale. Take care, and all the best.
I also loves battleships, missing these amazing destroyer especially the luckiest Yukikaze, they shouldn't scrapped her. I think i will buy this model too, great job on building them;)
Excellent video. Being myself part way into the Aoshima's first 1/700 Yukikaze kit, this shows how far model kits have come since the 1970's... to put it mildly. (will have to do a review thereof soon; as it's like a Kagero class on Teletext by comparison XD)
Hey ! Thats absolutely great... Quick question, what type of black wash do you use and how do you apply it ? I used Citadel Nuln Oil on my ships but it does not clean like yours :/ ...
Thank you very much! I use Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color, it's an enamel based paint so I can easily clean up any excess with Tamiya Enamel Thinner. A prior step I do before applying a wash is apply a clear gloss coat over the model. This helps the wash flow better as well as help clean up afterwards.
@@KumaModels thanks a lot for this very helpful answer , and for your Time. Why gloss over mate though ? Personnal taste ? On bigger models i airbrush with Tamiya... On smaller ones i handbrush with Vallejo... So i should on these ones : paint, seal with acrylic gloss varnish and then use enamel washes ?
I use Tamiya paint as well when airbrushing and whenever I am done with the paint job I like to cover the model with a Acrylic gloss coat (I use Tamiya X-22 for this). You can think of it like I’m creating a save file for the paint job so when I mess up any of the washes/weathering steps it doesn’t affect the layer of paint underneath the gloss coat. After I’m all set with the washes/weathering I apply a flat coat in the end to seal everything up. I would assume the same procedure would work fine for your hand brushed models.
@@KumaModels thanks a lot for your answers. I'll try to provide you ome pictures of my Atago once it's done ;) ! Nice of you to give me these references too :)
That's cool! The essential tools you'll need are: Nippers, a hobby knife, tweezers, sandsponge or sandpaper, and cement (If your model kit is not a snap together kit). If you plan on painting the model you can use an airbrush or use Tamiya Spray paint cans if you don't have an airbrush.
хорошая работа+)а мачту поменять нельзя было?смотрится грубо((good job +) but it was impossible to change the mast with photo-etching? it looks rude ((
陽炎 means mirage. If, in the futre, they will have Kagero Class destroyers and they are equipped with Optical camouflage or something, that would be super cool.
Let me say this. Why you modellers use lots of fine photo-etched parts but do not take care of those ugly, out-of-scale non-slip patterns on the plastic parts?
Very cool youve done a great job on all of the ships, I still need to learn how to work with PE properly and attach rigging hopefully someday I will.
Thank you very much!
Unreal, you make folding PE and rigging look so easy. Bravo to you

Thank you very much!
Definitely not for people with shaky and unstable hands.
Also, with additional models, maybe you can make a cool diorama!
Keep up the awesome job!
Indeed! Hmmmm I'm not that good with dioramas but we'll see!
Thank you!

Can you please tell me what glue you use for photo-etching?
Loctite super glue

@@KumaModels thank you
Nice job I have a couple models incoming soon.
Thank you very much! Good luck with your models!
What paint color did you use for the decking? And while I'm at it, the kit? Such as for the bow and stern silver ends.
Thanks, good video!
Thank you very much! I used Tamiya XF-9 Hull red for the wooden deck. Then I used XF-75 IJN Gray (Kure) and XF-77 IJN Gray (Sasebo) for the 2 ship.
@@KumaModels what about the silver parts?
The silver in 5:35? Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver.
@@KumaModels alright, thanks!

Thank you very much! No mast photo-etch was included.
How much for this Kit ?
If I recall, it was around 30$ for just the kit. The photoetch was an additional 20-25$
