  • In this video I show you how I upgraded my B&D PD360 Pivot Driver to a high capacity 18650 battery.
    • How To Upgrade Black &...
    This method could probably be used on other tools too.
    I got my battery from a Ryobi Battery I took apart.
    You can get some batteries like the one I used here:
    amzn.to/2NoVfQ7
    Alternately, you could use a battery holder instead of soldering on the battery. That way you could change the battery anytime.
    Find those here:

    Don't Try This At Home!
    Before you do anything, make sure you know what you are doing.
    You do this at your own risk. I take no responsibility if you mess something up.
    Keep a fire extinguisher nearby at all times.

    Nice upgrade. Thank you for the video. But a proper 5VDC output charger should be used. My original charger is 27VDC output and is not suitable. It would burn the new Li Ion battery and probably the screwdriver too!

    NiCd charging is set for 3.6v
    Lithium charging is 3.7v, using a NiCd charger is under charging the Li battery's voltage and you risk overcharging because you never achieve 3.7v

    I have held on to this exact same model trying to figure out how to bring it back to life. Do I really need a fire extinguisher nearby?

    When you say “charging block” are you referring to the Black & Decker charger?
    Thanks for the links as well.

    I was able to connect the new 18650 Lithium battery, I heard a small buzz ( drill) sound when I tried to use it once to see if there was some juice in the new battery, some hope there, but then nothing right the same second... The battery is fully charged ( the battery it has it's own connection plug). Thin is on the minus large on the plus ... The contact on the on/off button seems to be in the right place, but no energy... any more tips ?

      🤔😳😳😳 I wish I had an answer. Maybe the batteries in reverse? Sometimes I find that inside some of these tools the color maybe in reverse like the red supposed to be positive and the black is negative.. he said one black and one red wire? if you can switch the poles in reverse see what happens.. connected for a Split Second and see if it's going to run

    if your not going to use a proper lithium charging board then at least use a protected 18650 battery.

    By chance do you know how to remove a stuck drill bit?

      I do but every job is different. Sometimes you have to force it and sometimes you have to cut the chuck off and replace it.

    Umm isn't it a terrible idea to use the original power supply? Mine says 5.5VAC

    • @FixItYourself
      @FixItYourself  4 года назад +1

      Why would it say 5.5vac to charge a battery?

    • @pheelix-
      @pheelix- 3 года назад +2

      @@FixItYourself Because the charger is for Ni-Cd not Li-Ion. And yes it is a bad idea to use the original power supply.
