Fun fact: the Dutch opening is named after Sir Bartholemew Dutch, who was also the co-inventor of the postage stamp.
This is obviously supposed to be a joke, but I can't quite figure out how it's funny...

Jokes aside, I've always wondered how English speaking people end up with the name Dutch. Were they originally from the Netherlands?
We (the Dutch :)) never do this. We do know the name Engels, which in modern day Dutch means English, but it's referring to angels, not to English people.

These are really unique and the commentary you provide - apart from being extremely entertaining - helps us to understand how a master thinks in human categories, which is so much more relatable than just engine lines and completely unrealistic defenses discussed on some other channels. My chess (of course very low level) improved so much because of your clear explanations of basic concepts and plans. I have never regretted a penny spent on your courses!

I was ok with this stream until the dissing of the tomatoes on a full English breakfast plate started up. Oh no.... No No No. I can't accept that at all. Tomato haters will always hate. Where's the balance? Where's the tolerance? Where's the brotherhood of mankind that accepts one and all.... unless we're talking uncooked tomatoes then maybe there's a case to be made.

He did for chess 24 before chess Com octopus acquired it. They also had a studio and it was really nice. Now commentator just stream from home and it's really sad. I guess Al the money goes to the cheat detection 😁

Not sure whether that's related. There were a lot of complaints on reddit about how simon's rants drift away from the chess last time, I suspect it's just that: whiny chess hardheads who want nothing but an engine rammed up theirs.

By the way, Simon. My girlfriend has subscribed to the Slimming World. I don't know how it works but she's lost almost 2 stones and eats almost everything just uses low fat spray for frying, no butter and brown bread. You would have to research them to find out more. They do have weekly meetings and stuff. Good luck with your weight loss!
