From the beginning of me playing chess 7 years ago to now, there’s nothing quite like a little JB blitz chess! Always great to see your vids John, keep up the good work!
If you ever look at Kobe's free throw, the consistency of it, the release angle, the angle in which the ball arrives to the net, all of it, is extremely high. You can tell John loves his coffee by the same consistency, the angle in which he brings the cup up, the angle in which he sets it back down. All of it!
Hey John, just wanted to say that your titled Tuesday videos are upbeat, instructive and appreciated. I’m dealing with some shit at the moment and it helps a lot to end the day with one of these
John, I cant express how happy I am that u are back to uploading TT and UTCAAW videos - I must have watched all ur old ones at least 3 times. Oh and the dark mode has made wonders for my sleep
Saw you live, but wanted to see some of these games again, so I really appreciate the time stamps and labels. BTW, that game w/ Don Corleone was really amazing to watch! Hard to believe such a quality game can come out of blitz!! Thanks, as always, John!!! 😃
Thanks for watching. I might include more analysis in the future, though people seem to like the shortened versions here on RUclips. The full stream + analysis is always available on my Twitch channel, btw.
Hey John ! Super happy yo have you back for 3rd week in a row you're gifting us. May I ask 2 questions please : 1. On the last game i cant see why the rook on D1 can't take your knight, threatening rook takes F6 with check ? It seems you cant take the rook on D6 cause bishop takes and you never get your piece back ? What am i missing? And 2. Why don't you leave the analysis part after your game on RUclips? That was alwaya the noat instrucive ? Is it because you're afraid you'll get less views if the video is over 2 hours ? You could still cut them ahort maybe or go quickly over them ? I'm a big fan of your channel and your postgame analysis are always a treat. Anyway thanks again for the content, great score. Peace
Hey there Guillaume - thanks for watching! Could you include a timestamp for your first question? Not sure which moment you mean. As far the analysis, good to hear that you enjoy it. Generally, I try to shorten this portion, because when I analyze it real-time it can be long or short depending on the complexity of the game and how much time I have in-between rounds, and it also doesn't translate well to RUclips because I'm often interacting with the Twitch chat. But I might include more of the analysis if people like it. You can always find the full streams on my Twitch channel, by the way.
Hey John thanks for the reply, so my first question was about that moment 1:20:40. Ok cool I thought Twitch was only live videos, I suppose I should go check it out then. As for my own feedback I don't mind the interaction with the Twitch chat at all, and yeah I understand TT can make the postgame analysis inconsistent especially after a long game but yeah I am sure you always give it a minute or two at least whenever you can and I always like it. You know it's like a closure after the games because I know you're a perfectionist and your anger management is so great you always have a good look at them and it's great to watch. I'll check your Twitch channel though I owe you that for sure. Peace
my blitz score with black is slightly better with one exception. If I play 1.c4 I win more with white. The english is... difficult, to deal with in blitz at my rating. It's just because I'm not quite high enough rated that c4 is as common as d4. Black doesn't get as much practice against it.
Thanks for checking out my Chessable Scandi course! 3...Qd8 is definitely solid and pretty straightforward to play. I've been playing 3...Qa5 for even longer, actually. But about 15 years ago there was a line that was a little depressing for Black with a quick Bc4, Bd2, and Nd5xf6+, so I stopped playing it as much. However, in recent years, it turns out Black can basically avoid this line by prioritizing ...e6 instead of ...c6, going for ...Bb4 and sometimes even putting the knight of c6. So, I decided to start looking at it and playing it again, and 3...Qa5 will be the focus of my upcoming self-published course! Hope that answers your question. If you're interested, here's the waitlist for my course: johnbartholomewchess.com/master-the-qa5-scandinavian-defense-coming-soon/
@@JohnBartholomewChess thanks for the response. I will certainly check out the new course, but so far I am not finding anything that worries me after Qd8.

Gotta say, I'm proud of my coffee cup transition at 8:49 😅
Just noticed it and damn, that's next level.

im in the same boat haha
My pleasure - really appreciate you saying that. Sorry to hear about the issues you're dealing with; keep your head up!
Love the foreshadowing in the video title, was waiting for it!

That's so cool, I was halfway through the Twitch VOD, now I can finish it here.
John, your olive shirt suits you so well that I couldn’t focus on a single game. Keep it up! 😊
Amazing video, thank you john!
Love your videos🙏🏼
Always good to get a TT video from you...always enjoy watching them. Cheers!
Cheers, Ben - much appreciated!
By far the most chill chess streamer😇

Thank you, sir! I was happy to find ...f5 in that endgame against Don Corleone.
I just love this!!!!!!!
Love to hear that!!
Love this content!
Thank you very much!
I always read this as "tilted tuesday"
Love your videos❤
Hey John, love all your videos! Would be nice to see a quick analysis of each game while you wait between games if possible :)

Much love John Barthaniskanijohnnyjon!
There is something poetic about recovering from a Botez gambit with the Scandi opening.
The all-purpose stabilizer, lol
Hey GUYS this is JOHN !!
The tradition unlike any other.
The time scramble against Sergio was terrifying
Fans content. Please post more Title Tuesday’s 😅
john I humbly request the vih sou opening
Haha noted - I'll try and work it in somehow
Scandi 5-0. Everything else 2-4. John you are a true Viking!
😅
Hi John! This is guys.
Hey - that blunder in the first game? Juuuust wakin' up, guys.
;-)
Classic john! Always posting when
Casual beginner blunders a queen: I'm so bad at chess i quit
Chad IM after blundering a queen: i would give B+ for that

Oh but wait just pawn takes rook and that check on f6 just doesn't lead anywhere, watching it today seems so obvious. You'd just be up the exchange
damn that botez gambit was devastating
and then the next game... 😂 Im speechless
@@ahmadburhanhabibi The universe was in balance 😂
Game 7, Kc7 or Qxg5?
Lmao, clearly missed that one 😂

I am a Scandi disciple, following your chessable course. Why do you predominantly now play Qd5 instead of Qd8?
Qa5 I meant

@@agrillage You bet. And yes, 3...Qd8 is still a great practical option!
So wholesome seeing your videos compared to the awful clickbait Gotham videos among others.
So harsh dropping the Q in game 1!!
It was brutal 😂😂
hotshots like the guy in Game 6 thinking they can get away with premoving the first 6 opening moves is what puts me off online chess tbh
Interesting
👍
8:18 got me turning pale. 😮
