    EMF for the win, Clay the owner is a stand up dude and knows the front axle on these trucks more than anyone.

    I love these videos. Comparing and contrasting each brand and style. Great consumers guide to HD ball joints.
    I’d love to see a review of Patton fab or other long travel traction bar kits

      @CJCOffRoad  Месяц назад

      Those are a tough one since they do help with axle wrap, but Patton and Firch bars do still slightly restrict suspension movement so it comes down to how you balance those two factors. For trucks making 500hp or less we usually suggest to skip them.

    I can say the EMF ball joints are the best, I have them in my truck and they are only about an hour away from me.

    The only ball joint ive been able to get more than 14 months out of is EMF. Carli were second best but not even close to the EMF.

      @@kyles234So we’ve established that the problem is you and not the roads or parts. Nothing special about Canadian roads, we have rough as hell roads in the States too. And yet….no one goes through ball joints in 14 months.
      I’ve got a decade on my Carli joints

      The EMFs out last the carli joints period. They are also way cheaper.

    Think I’m going to give apex a shot. Lifetime warranty is great but who’s going to keep swapping out their ball joints and wear out there install bores

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Месяц назад

      For the price they’re pretty hard to beat. We see longer life from Emf, Carli and Dynatrac, but apex are a great bang for the buck option.

    What is the biggest cause of accelerated wear on ball joints on these trucks? Offset, weight?
    Sounds like Carli's are the one & done solution, assuming money-club usage?

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Месяц назад

      It’s really just a poor factory design using a nylon wear surface on a high load part. The other issue is that 99% of parts store replacements are a similar low cost design, so they also fail but are what get installed in most trucks by alignment shops etc. You see far longer life from any quality replacements making ball joints a non-issue.

    Good evening everyone. Can you recommend me a ball joint for a 2013 RAM 1500 with OEM quality?

  • @johnargumaniz9179

    I have warrantied a lower ball joint from Carli. I sent them a video and once they verified it they sent me a ball joint, easy as that

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Месяц назад +1

      Yep! It just has to be more than 15 thousandths laterally in the upper or more than forty thousandths vertically in the lower. Anything less and you keep on driving, anything more and they send new joints.

    What are neural ball joints?

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Месяц назад

      Knurled or splined joints have a slightly larger overall diameter, and the outer ridges shown on the joints in the video.
