Thank you for explaining the job of the Light Force truck, I would have thought it was like the one I have where it is used if they have to fight a house fire or whatever and it's really dark without any streetlights and the light force truck has super bright lights that they can raise from it and they use those lights to brighten up the area so the fire fighters can fight the fire a little easier...mine also caries extra Oxygen tanks for the fire personal on the scene.
Here in Philadelphia due to man power shortages years ago the city ran an engine & ladder with 6 guys & called it a Task Force. I even remember in the 70's they called it a Series Ladder. No matter how you label it a combo company is just that, a engine & ladder running as a single unit
@hipcio99 The engine was not available because they were at another call. You can't pull an engine from another district unless the entire task force was out running other calls because then the engine that is from another district is left open. We only do move ups for fires or when a task force or engine is at training outside its district . It gets hard to describe but trust me it all makes sense in the end.
@Wouter112 The ladder companies are actually called "Trucks" but when a Truck is paired with a 200 series engine, aka the "Pump", they are called a Light Force. In this video is T26 and E226 aka Light Force 26. The pump always responds with the truck except for E209. E209 is the only fully staffed pump in the City due to the call volume at station 9.
@hipcio99 It's probably because E26 was busy and LF 26 was the only available company in the first in district. That's just the way LA City runs their show.
@702xRyder Because once they are on scene, there is no need for the drivers to react. No need to warn them about changing lanes, slowing down, unlike on the highway, for example. They just turn on the blinkers to avoid being hit. But I admit, even without the blinkers, it would be very difficult to miss these big red things on wheels ;)
Awesome Fire trucks.. I Have A Question Tho why wen fire trucks come to the scene or person in need they turn off all their lights and just leave the yellow blinkers on??????
@Arkadasch123 some medical calls require more manpower. in this case light force 26 (truck 26+ engine 226) was the closest resource with the ambulance.
with the ladder coming over the hill chasing the medic did anyone else start to think of the terminator scene when the t1000 is chasing the connor's and the older terminator?
It's funny seeing all the comments saying that's far to many trucks . No body cares what you think if they want to run 3 trucks on a medic run then they can its not your dept it's there's and they make their choices .
3 trucks for 1 emergency?!?!?! wtf can understand if they send 1 or maybe 2 fire trucks as first responders but here is the ambulance still faster on the scene than the fire trucks o.Ô
Blinker, Blinkers , little light, How I wonder what you are! Down Below the sky so low, Like a shit in the land! Haha....sorry for shit , i dont know what should i say .
The way he u-turned that tiller in one movement is pretty damn impressive!
That ALF can make some pretty smooth U-Turns, Who says trucks can't maneuver :)
That's funny, it looked like the truck was chasin' the ambulance and then honking at them. Lmao
My favorite one of your videos
LAFD has some of the greatest firefighters ans some of the nicest Rigs!
I am still AMAZED at how many people pull over in LA. . . . . .

This captain is in love with the air horn

I love the fact that the cab alone is almost the size of a small room.
from 3:50 to 4:04 reminds me of the movie "S.W.A.T." where Hondo tells Deke
"Flip a b****" (turn around)
@joemagliari A light force is a truck and an engine, as in this video. A Taskforce is a light force with an additional engine, so 1 truck 2 engines.
It Does all make sense!!!!!!Go LaFD
Cool video
soo how loud is the siren and the air horn while you guys where the headphones
soo does the siren sound throw the head phones when you guys wear it
Did LAFD stop using real European Fiat Hi-Lo sirens with their regular sirens? Those were a very good combination and effective warning.

@51ENGINE51 yes the paramedics do rotate from RA(rescue ambulance) to the engine but that's all
that was an awesome video!
Awesome Fire trucks..
I Have A Question Tho why wen fire trucks come to the scene or person in need they turn off all their lights and just leave the yellow blinkers on??????
Great Video!
awesome video
Good post!
it's like a normal engine responding with a crew of four. 3 on the tiller and 1 driving the engine
Why the tiller along with the engine for a medical?
@milesburton571 it is called a tiller, smart one.
@Keragon In this situation the closest unit was the light force (truck+engine) and the ambulance. some medical calls require extra manpower.
@RubixCube703 i can see why he is saying it's a truck. because where i live, a ladder tuck is called a "truck".
Why does the fire station bell not ring like a school bell?
Awesome vid!
2 pieces of fire apparatus for a medical emergency?
NICE
Awesome video, keep them coming :D
go on a ride along with 9's please,
@Arkadasch123 some medical calls require more manpower. in this case light force 26 (truck 26+ engine 226) was the closest resource with the ambulance.

do all LAFD firemen rotate between apparatus? if so do the medics on ALS rescues also rotate?
Why are the ladder company's called "Lightforce"
What airhorn do they use?
a Light Force is an Engine and Truck. A Task Force is 2 Engines and a Truck
Is T26 assessment?
OCD ? Wow! This video is really old. Now it's called Metro Fire.
@RubixCube703 He's talking about what they call it by LACoFD standards.
@yehyehsoilwell You happen to know if LAFD or LACOFD gives hiring preference to medics, or is it really just about the interview??
It's all about manpower!!!!!!!!!!
Lafd?
Los Angeles Fire Department & Los Angeles County Fire Authority. LAFD & LACOFD
It's funny seeing all the comments saying that's far to many trucks . No body cares what you think if they want to run 3 trucks on a medic run then they can its not your dept it's there's and they make their choices .
If it was them having the emergency, they'd damn sure want all of them there.
@hipcio99
you never know what happend!
maybe they have to rescue someone from a roof or something like that....
...Seriously, are they EVER going to start taking apps again?
@jeanphilippeg That Is A really good Answer Thanks Man Makes Sence!
But if I Was A firefighter I Would Never Turn Off My Lights xD
@theatomicfart1001 I couldn't stop asking me why he's doing that...
How do u get a ride along with the LAFS?
how do you do these vids do you you have you pay the fire department or what
+carey price They're fire fighters with a video camera
@@GMOddxballer No. It's an outsider on a ride along. Says so in the fkn title.
@@mikeymcmikeface5599 Thanks for the correction, big man! Too bad you're only four years late. Better luck next time, kiddo.
@@GMOddxballer You still got the message, so it was "on point". Calling someone a kiddo is just pathetic and very 2010s.
@@mikeymcmikeface5599 I feel like you want to kiss. Shall we meet out back behind the station, old chap?
@huntercra only thing missing is a Q
mhh und was ist da jetzt passiert?
@milesburton571 Could even be an obese patient, we've gotten a couple calls where we've had to request anouther company.
@Wouter112 quite cute , i dont't know about that too .
I can't believe the tiller U-turn but really, a truck and engine to a medical call ???
why so many trucks for a medical incident?
Tiller ladder for a medical call? Without sense for me ...
3 trucks for 1 emergency?!?!?! wtf
can understand if they send 1 or maybe 2 fire trucks as first responders
but here is the ambulance still faster on the scene than the fire trucks o.Ô
An engine AND a ladder on a medical call? Seems like overkill to me. In Columbus, Ohio, you get a medic or a medic & an engine.
The ladder amd 2×× engine and one unit in reality
Blinker, Blinkers , little light,
How I wonder what you are!
Down Below the sky so low,
Like a shit in the land!
Haha....sorry for shit , i dont know what should i say .
@hipcio99 Technically already paid for, gets boring in the house
FDNY..
Slow departure.
GET BACK ON THE FIRE TRUCK
poor guy going to garbage
Slow
