I really like that storage area in the back! We're getting a 100 series 27BH! Super excited. Care to share how you built that table storage you have back there?? That is an awesome use of space.

Rear Jacks - It looks like they just raised the jacks up one notch. Which I emailed GD about and am waiting on an answer to raise mine up one notch.
Bottom bunk - I have a box fan setup at night for my kid similarly. Heating isn't an issue since my kid has a great sleeping bag. I have ran the heater and it has worked very well and no complaints from my kids on cold nights.
I find that the whole thing sways a lot when someone is moving in the back. I started using blocks like the jack blocks to try and stop this. I will see how it goes next trip after I raise my rear jacks one notch.
Door hitting the awning - I feel the exact same way about it.
Grey tanks - Kind of a joke, we didn't realize there was 2 grey tanks when we bought it. That has been an issue for sure, very limited dry camping now. Going to try and see what I can do to upgrade tank size or combine the 2. I have seen other GD models that have 2 tanks but both still drain to main line.
The indoor / outdoor speakers are great
having hot water outside the RV is nice with the hose. Can take a bit of a shower there before going inside.
The USB and plugs by the each bed is a nice touch
All in all it has been good to us this last year. Great review video, Thanks for sharing!!!

Доброго времени суток, можно Вас попросить. Написать массогабаритные характеристики трейлера. Потянет ли его Ram 1500

I would definitely not try anything less than a 3/4 ton truck. Ram 1500 is not suitable in my honest opinion.

Thanks for the video. Very informative. I currently own a Rockwood travel trailer and am wanting to move to a unit with a bunkhouse for grandchildren. Making up the sofa bed is getting old. I have a a 2018 Chevy duramax but my payload limit is at 2250. With a grandchild or two, two dogs I'm using up 500 lbs of that payload only leaving me 1,700 lbs to play with. This unit has a hitch weight of about 1,400 lbs. Curious what your payload capacity is on your GM? It appears to be newer. Any guess as to what your final hitch weight is when loaded?

Mine is 3100. They don’t make the 278bh anymore, rather replaced it with a 27bh. That is if you get a brand new one. I will release a video comparing the 2 shortly. I don’t line the reductions they made to the 27 from the 278. Obviously there are plenty of used 278s also. (May be listing ours…..) Rockwood is a great unit, I have owned one. I would honestly say they may be built ever so slightly better then the reflection 150s, but both are good.
My loading pin is right around 1500-1700. This would include the weight of the Andersen hitch. My opinion of 2500 trucks…they are typically derated from a gvwr compared to the 3500 typically for registration reasons. I would guess your gvwr is 10000? The only difference between a 3500 and 2500 is the overload spring on the rear axle. Your payload should be enough to carry everything, but know if it’s right at or even slightly over, it’s not going to break at all. From an engineering standpoint it’s designed to carry more weight. But yes, if you want to go by the sticker, you will be right there.

Great video. Thank you for sharing. Question. So I have the same trailer and same truck and also the Anderson Hitch. I noticed you have the attachment piece turned backwards. My question is what direction do you have the hitch in the bed. Meaning is the ball facing forward or back. Assuming you have it set up to give the most clearance as possible. Currently I am super closer to touching my side bed rails because I have a roll up cover on the truck bed. Just curious was your set up was on the the Anderson hitch to see if I can get more clearance in the sides while making sharp turns. Thank you

Yes, cup forward like you have gives more clearance from the cab. Cup backwards, like mine, gets you closer to the cab but more bed rail clearance. Dealer installed it facing forward, I flipped it after a few tows and it works much better. I have about 3-4” at the cab at 90 and the same at my bedrails in the box. Hitch ball faces towards the rear. Most with the GD 150 series has their Andersens set up the same as mine.

I have mine Cup backwards and Ball towards the rear also. This works great, no issue with the cab since they are built to be for short beds now, I can go past 90 on my Chevy 2500, and I have a roll up bed cover, never even noticed an issue with the rails.

Very good video I have a 2023 2787h reflection with the same problem with the rear lowered jacks I already went to the dealer to try to replace my jacks for a shorter one but I could not do it can you advise me or tell me the name in grand design that solved your problem thank for your attention

It actually looks like they just raised his rear jacks up one notch. It shows 6 holes open on the first part and the flash back has 7. I had someone point out that his GD 5th wheel(not a 278BH, but same year) had the same jacks as mine but was up on more notch also. I suggest talking to Grand Design and see if raising one notch is okay. I am in process of waiting for a reply.

@@Midwestcamperguy I’m looking at a 2023 298BH that is new still on the lot and I worked out a deal for $54995 out the door with tax, title, license, also B&W slide hitch and track mount with install. Not sure if that’s a good deal or not. Not finalized yet.

@@lawdawg5823 yes that sounds like a good deal. Although I’d ditch the slider bw depending on your truck. The 150 series has a carved front cap to increase cab clearance.
