  • On the night of April 14th 1912 the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg while on her maiden voyage to New York. At that time the liner was the largest in service and carried 2224 people on board. It would take only 2 hours and 40 minutes for the ship to completely vanish into the ice cold sea. Due to the lack of lifeboats on the Titanic roughly 1500 people did not survive that night. This makes the sinking of the RMS Titanic one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. In today's video we will dive into the lives of the longest-lived Titanic survivors.

It is interesting that none of the last 5 surviving passengers lived to be over 100 years old.
I know some of the survivors did live to be over 100, I was just expecting the last few to have as well.
