She’s hilarious. Calling him out on dumb questions. “what happened?” She says, “Well you know perfectly well what happened. The boat sank” 😂
tinwoods well then maybe he should have been more precise and asked “what happened to YOU? What’s YOUR story?” And not just a plain “what happened” which is a general question and the reason she gave a sarcastic response. Idiot.

This poor woman has probably been asked these questions a million times and is just sick of her horrific experience being exploited for entertainment. Let's be honest, that's the underlying reason why we're here. As much as we wouldn't like to admit it, we've romanticized the Titanic and are intrigued by this disaster and how it happened. We pull for all the details and there's something so interesting about a catastrophe that occurred during an era when society was so different and less accessible to the media - we forget how hellish it must've been for people involved.

I have seen many interviews with Eva Hart over the years. You can tell how this impacted her life at such a young age. We didn't talk about PTSD for people back in 1912 but I am certain many survivors had it from witnessing such a tragic event.
*experiencing*
@LucasOrganisttrue, but this would be traumatic for anyone. And soldiers were tough too, but you can bet most of them came home with PTSD before they ever knew what that was.
@LucasOrganist that’s a tough one. I know what you’re saying and I definitely see the difference in people across the generations, but so many veterans have un-Alived themselves In the past several decades that I wouldn’t judge how any of them handle it.
@LucasOrganist Most didn't "handle it like men" they ended up drinking themselves into an early grave, taking it out on their loved ones or dying early from heart attacks/strokes. Trauma is no joke and can literally eat away at you if you don't treat it.
that's why they stopped the Olympic from going to the crash site to pick up the passengers. because it looked identical to the Titanic and they knew people would freak out. so the ship was told to go back when it was only 100km from the accident site.

The boat itself was famous the entire story of the unsinkable ship that sunk on its first run because of arrogance many died that did not need to die if not for arrogant stupidity. And many of the world's rich and powerful men died on it also.
Love this lady, and she was quick to point out the absurdity of some of the questions! To know she would never see her father again, and then to be separated from her mother in the middle of the ocean must have been a terrifying experience for a 7 year old, heartwarming to know that the next day she was reunited with her mother aboard the Carpathia.
This kind of interview required extreme sensitivity; this woman was revisiting the most traumatic event of not only her childhood, but her whole life, a tragedy that shocked the whole world. This obviously didn't enter the interviewer's head; he wanted a first-hand, live witness account in all its horror. He was not for a moment considering what is must be like for Eva Hart to have to revisit and relive the most terrifying thing that had ever happened to her and her family, an event in which her own father went down with the ship and for most of that night she thought her mother had also gone.

They told the warning ships to stop sending messages because it interfered with the post card transmissions The other ship told them they had seen a big iceburg, and in a field of iceburgs. They were warned to stop until morning. The Captain wanted to set the speed record so full speed ahead. I like her 😂 She reminds me so much of my grandma, who was also a lovely English lady with a straight-forward, deadpan way of responding to things. So much alike. I miss my grandma. ❤ Great interview. May both ladies rest in peace.
nah she annoying asf she mentions ladies first rule like even in my school it happens its so annoying it should be equal.
@@ryangenia4974 It's not "ladies" first, but women and children first. Also, you can't blame her for rephrasing a centuries-old maritime rule that was ironically sanctioned by men from those times 🤷♂
@SexySauron-iv5js yes but why women first there barely saying that all boys are stronger than girls
@@ryangenia4974 I don't find anything bad about having women go first before men. That kind of rule has spanned for god knows how long. The bad thing is to ONLY have women go onboard the lifeboats, which is what happened at the time of the sinking as a result of a misunderstanding amongst the crew.
@SexySauron-iv5js And are you a girl or a buy?
How horrible it feels to hear and see a ship slowly sinking inside the ocean with full of darkness and memories :(
What a classy lady! Very well spoken, educated and almost mocking her interviewer. What an amazing and powerful woman. Thank goodness for Mom.
