It was said when Hitler was in the trenches , during ww1 . He heard a prophetic inner voice tell him to move away swiftly , as he did this , a shell exploded where He was standing momentarily before . I've always found this quite fascinating. He also saw shadow figures as a child . Very strange

They used to have obscure stuff on the subject at foyles bookshop charring cross road back in the day under the occult stuff . I'm not really sure there's anything specific about the paranormal phenomena there now. I'm sure if you dig tho .
@@Shikam187 also Greenwich market and the old bookshops before it become mainstream garbage with Waterstones had some really exciting books on this subject , I remember reading one book in a quaint antique bookshop there , the owner was a German lady , she had an original duelling pistol set that dated to 1700s . The book I read had an old black sun embossed image on it . I read stuff about when Hitler ranted . He stated or others , I can't remember which , as if something else was speaking through him ! Scary stuff eh .

I'm a British subject, living in Germany and I have been interested in this subject for many years. Even now, many German seasonal festivals that were encouraged in the Nazi era and have their roots in such beliefs, have been continued to the present day. The powerful symbolism and potent emotional manipulation at the massive Nazi rallies of the late 1930s & 1940s are a testament to the capitalization of iconic personalities and events from ancient folklore and the merging of this and occult doctrine into Nazi propaganda. One of my earliest experiences of persistant folklore in Germany was in the town of Lahr, in the Black Forest area There was a festival at the time of my arrival, during which the men of the town dressed as fir trees and marched together, as one ominous green forest, through the streets of the town. The on lookers observed this in quiet reverence, even in 1991 and - as far as I was aware - without a Neo-Nazi present. Such bonding, cultural events leave an indellble imprint on the group spirit of a small town. ;))

I read that the heavy use of the swastikas was to counteract the magic being used by the Unites States. Swastikas are generally symbolic of good luck in other cultures.

My ex mother-in-law was born in Germany before the war. Her father was a mechanic who kept the fleet of cars for the SS and her mother was a psychic for the 3rd Reich. Due to some naughty behavior of her father, I won't go into details, he was sent to cool his heels in a concentration camp. My ex mother-in-law's mother went directly to Adolf Hitler and asked him to intervene. He personally sign the release papers and the family still has that release paper with his signature on it. Yes they may have sought personal self improvement guidance from what was at that time to be considered an "unconventional source" to many people, rather than a christian church leader, but to do so in making decisions that would impact policies impacting national interests was most definately unconventional. There is a book called The Spear. A lot here, like the serum I have never come across, yet his quest for the spear head that killed Jesus, other artifacts as well and his black magic is real, which is very different than this Hollywood presentation.

+Desiree Marie C Have you ever read that book "The Good Old Days? It's about the Nazi camp Commandants' and camp guards' ( the SS Totenkopf Verbande ) and some of the Einsatz Gruupen mens' diaries. It's a great read. The name comes from the name of a photo album found in a liberated camp in a SS Totenkopf Verbande's Commandant's office that read "The Good Old Days" ( you know how photo albums often have names like "Precious Moments" and "Treasured Memories"?). The photo album contained tons of pictures of piles of corpses and the like, letters between the SS men and their homes and families, and some offices had diaries the SS men. It's a great book, if you liked this, you'd probably like that. I also have the Memoirs of Albert Speer ( "Inside the Third Reich" ), Heinz Guderian ( "Panzer Leader" ), and Walther Schellenberg ( "Hitler's Secret Service" ). You would probably like those as well, you should look them up
It's not complicated. They weren't against border science or the occult but couldn't allow the possibility of anything to challenge or supercede the nazi party's power and control.

The author implicitly acknowledges my point about occultism being mainstream, saying the swastika is a "replacement for the cross". He knows the occult aspect of mythic symbols are equal between nations. A true case of history being written by the winners and a failure to see how similar all of us are despite apparent differences of cultures.

When you are in the military, you don't question the orders given to you by your superiors, you do your job and carry out those orders to the best of your abilities. The mental and emotional strains on many of these men, that were merely being good soldaten and following orders, were truly great. It gives you another perspective to consider than simply regurgitating the usual "sick monsters" and sentiments like that which makes up almost everything written about them

I have this book! As I do, many others. I mostly read non-fiction books on quantum mechanics & particle physics.
Similarly to how a person dying of cancer may grasp at any straw promising a cure, it's easy to see how a desperate regime losing a world war may also try some bizarre cures.

Well, no. The problem with Nazis and Nazi-Germanys history is that there is so much to it, there have been much more imminent things to unearth then this small part. With that in mind it makes sense that an somewhat dispensable part of the whole process has been pushed back and wasnt given that much attention. But this doesnt mean the historians weren't aware that occultism had its place. In fact there have been quite some books, regarding that topic, during the last 50 years. But in the grand scheme of all, it was and still is just a minor point.
