This hugely popular establishment in Hyderabad is famous for its unique takes on traditional recipes. Their specialties are their biryanis or rather, their pulaos, of which they make 18 varieties! And each of them has its own unique flavour and character.
Food Lovers' Editor, Kripal Amanna joins Ravitej Ravuri of StreetByte on an epic pulao tasting session. He tastes a couple of unconventional starters namely, the Bamboo Chicken, an appetiser of chicken cooked in a bamboo stalk in a tandoor, and the Bangla Kodi. From their wide menu of pulaos, he tries the unique Raju Gari Pulao, a vegetarian Guthivankaya Pulao with eggplant, as well as the Rayala Vary Kodi Pulao with gongura leaves. He rounds off the meal with an indulgent rose milk and a sweet pudding called Junnu made from colostrum.

BAMBOO CHICKEN
this chicken is cooked in a fresh, tangy herb marinade and steamed in a bamboo shell. the masala has penetrated all the way into the chicken. the meat is juicy but a wee bit powdery in its texture.

an interesting appetiser of chicken encased in a thick slice of potato that is marinated in a red spice paste and deep fried. almost resembles a mini taco! the slightly underdone potato adds a textural crunch.

this is unlike any biryani/ pulao i have ever tasted! the consistency is that of a khichdi or rice and gravy mixed together. the pulao is flavoured with pepper, whole spices and green chilli takes some getting used to, the chicken is here just to support the flavourful rice.

a refreshing take on a vegetarian pulao or biryani. this masaledar pulao has an eggplant gravy ladled on the rice. the eggplant adds a meaty bite to the dish.

Geethanjali Vadla it’s a collaboration for food not for marketing . They went to Ulavacharu for a reason . They serve some unique andhra dishes which you don’t find anywhere in hyderabad . Please watch international food Vlogs - they have to collaborate with local food bloggers when they visit those remote places for first time . For authentic bamboo chicken they have to go to Araku valley which would be Herculean task for a RUclips channel which has minimal funds to operate . If someone is filthy rich and don’t need money and has passion to make videos then we can expect them to go to authentic places with out any commercial places - but hey someone needs to pay for gas . Right !

Kripal, I reckon you've chosen the wrong guide in exploring restaurants at Hyderabad. I am basically from Hyderabad and I can definitely say there are many restuarants and local food stalls that serve much better food in compared to Chutneys or this one. Your review on Kakatiya Mess put a smile on my face as it has a legacy carried till date. I saw your video on Bunder, Mangalore and there is such a detailing that goes along. The silly "Let us make assumptions of the name Raju Garu" seems inexperienced and lack of interest. Anyway, your review, as always has been genuine and I only advise to pick better guide while exploring :)

That peacefulness in your videos, proper BGM, that cool way of saying, I really love it...I'm following you from long time..and I ate karnataka delicacies too...our side it's more about spices and it's taste, ....karnataka is food more about taste and peace from food..I had at Adithya in Rajaji nagar, Brahmins thatte Idi..etc...next target, Shivaji millitary hotel, Vidyarthi bhavan, MTR, etc....always your videos are my go to place when I'm irritated or frustrated.....to just get out of them..it really helps... being cool makes u very nice...keep going....wanna see more Karnataka specials..

But I feel Biryani is different breed on top of everything. pulavs are comfortable home food which people have forgot over time now this restaurant is making them a comeback.
