NAACP should be Leaders and not Followers...Falling short of the History of the NAACP and what this Organization was designed to stand for. This is the same problem that I have with our local Branch. Very weak and watered down by people just showcasing and not Showing Out and Leading.

The governor should not be dismantling anything. It’s the Governor’s and past Governor’s fault that Tennessee State didn’t get their funds in the first place. And yep, they need ALL THEIR MONEY!!! Nashville and TSU Alumni need to standup and confront this.

The NAACP damn sure isn't what it was back in the 70s or even the 80s. Our generation was tough. They're just collecting a paycheck. The younger generations need to get off their asses. Voting rights and civil rights wasn't a thing when I was born. I've lived to watch nearly all of that progress get rolled back.☹️

We’ve had this same conversation with our NAACP Milwaukee Branch .. I was replaced as the Wisconsin State Conference Education Chair because I told our president that we are NOT helping our people in the state of Wisconsin but want to show up for photo opts and NAACP Conventions and meetings .. Pure disgrace to our ancestors .. smh

Been dealing with racist people since 1969 I’m 57 I got loads of these stories. My daughter graduated from Morgan 2023. She made history at that school if she would have gone to another school she would not have gotten far at all. Thank God for all black educators who uplift our sons and daughters.

Do you see a band of black kids succeeding? A band, lots of black kids succeeding in academics as other races? We talked about black inventions from ages ago. Where are the modern-day black inventors with all the capabilities that we have now? Where are they? rap music and dance hall and revelry are not inventions, and that has not helped our black race. We have done more killing of each other like Tupac, Biggie, and all the others that were not necessary. Instead of building a race of people Need I go on.
Well which black people? The 70% of black people who supported Clarence Thomas? Was I wrong to stand with the 30% who wouldn't endorse his nomination? Guess who led that 30%: the NAACP, which used to be referred to in white media as "the civil rights lobby." Therein lies our dilemma.
Saint Augustine in Raleigh, NC had now closed their Physical Doors to classes, just Online Classes. Watch Bennett College in Greensboro, NC will close next. It use to be over 2,000 Students, when Julianne Malveaux and Johnnetta Cole was there. Now the school is under 230 students. Looks like a Ghost Town when I drive past it.

Well said Dr. Carr. I know this is not related to HBCU's, but other important issues, like the racial threat of violence in Powhatan County, Virginia; where a White female high schooler had, " I kill n-----s" tattooed on her arm, (I saw this reported by Dr. Rashad Richey) seem to not get the laser focused attention from legacy Black social justice groups. The Black Panthers went to the county school meeting to demand action to protect, not just the Black students, but also White students who feel terrorized by this White female pupil. It would be an awesome show of Black unity, as well as concern for all children, if other Black social justice groups would stand with the Balck Panthers as they fight to protect our Black children and children of other races from violence.
Is there a NATIONWIDE HBCU COMMITTEE (Black Leaders)that support our HBCU’s in situations like this. A Committee that will travel to every HBCU to insure our Schools that there’s someone that really cares..

I remember back in the day when I went to NAACP for help,and MARY RATLIFF,in Columbia Mo told me, if your case won't be on the news,we can't help you. I've been 🖕NAACP since then!!
EXACTLY what they told me. KKK tried to murder me and my children in Barberton, Ohio after we were in an accident and stuck there, yet it wasn't relevant. I dumped all those groups then.
