My daughter had 2 of those Galaxy phones catch fire. We returned the first one and they replaced it with a new one. Week later same thing. Melted the case and burned her carpet. About a week after, there was a recall on the phones. Unbelievable.
I had an Easy Bake oven as a kid. How many of the injuries from those ovens could have been prevented if parents actually supervised their kids so they didn't stick their hands in the oven?
ANGELVALO, exactly this. Maybe an age restriction could’ve prevented most of these. Children up age six would be the most likely to stick their hands inside, so maybe age requirement of “children under 10 must be supervised at all times” could’ve worked.

There was man here in Minnesota who spent almost 4 years in prison for criminal vehicular homicide because his Toyota accelerated out of control killing a man, a 10yo boy and 6yo girl in 2006, right about the time that these incidents were beginning to be reported. Even the families of the victims believed him when these incidents started coming to light and tried to get him out of prison. The families of the victims and the family of the man who eventually got his conviction vacated ended up suing Toyota. I don’t remember if drivers in other states got wrongfully convicted of vehicular crimes when their Toyotas caused accidents, but Mr. Lee’s case made national news when he was freed from prison.

I’m sorry but if your car starts to run away you either put it in neutral or turn the key off. They’re ignoring the fact that some late 1990s/ early 2000s ford crown Vics did the same thing. Supposedly the us government was suing ford for an incident where a CVPI ran away from the secret service and an agent had to put it into a tree. Throttle by wire if it runs away can always be stopped or control regained by engaging neutral and taking the engine out of the equation
My older sister had a toy iron that actually plugged in and heated up. It was around 1954 that I plugged it in and left it sitting on the linoleum bedroom floor. It actually left a mark on the linoleum in the shape of the soleplate and my dad took it out of service. My grandson suffered serious head injuries in the rollover of a Ford Explorer equipped with Firestone tires. Later in that same week while he was hospitalized in Spokane the news about the defects started to break. We contacted our son-in-law, who hadn't yet heard, as he was holding vigil at the hospital.
I drove a ‘78 Ford Pinto for 4 years in college and took a ton of ribbing about the potential for explosion, but after some research I learned that the problem had been fixed in the ‘78 model year. It was a good car overall that finally died from exhaust system failure 6 months after graduation. Northern winters are unkind to vehicle undercarriages 😔

My oldest brother had three pintos was almost killed by two. If he hadn’t welded a plate over the gas tank containing it in a rear end crash he would have been killed once. The second time is when his second pinto flipped over on black ice and the fuel tank spilled everywhere in the cabin. The last one he ran into the ground.

That was because of Lee Iacocca specifically. He ordered the car couldn’t weigh an ounce over 2000 pounds. This decision left the rear woefully fragile. The actual truth was the pinto had to be going or hit at over 70 mph to actually rupture the fuel tank. However if the tail lights or brake lights were on it would start a short circuit that could ignite fuel vapor leaking from a low fill level gas tank.

I've had experience with two of these items. I had a Easy Bake oven in the early 90s. Mine came with a plastic push rod so my fingers never got close to the opening going in. And, I have experience with two of Toyota's vehicles. I work at one of the Toyota Motors Manufacturing plants. I will attest first hand that Toyota does pride itself in the quality of not only their vehicles, but also the work place. Auto parts used in Toyota's vehicles that are made by other companies can be a problem. I know of two instances in factory where the entire stock of a single part was rejected, twice, for two different problems with 400+ cars having to be retrofitted with good parts before they left the plant. They checked every car made for 2 days to make sure they got all of the bad parts. Unfortunately, bad designs that sometimes cause problems, such as "the gas pedal can become stuck" do happen. Something that happens only sometimes is difficult to catch during vehicle tests, even under rigorous testing, and only show up within months of real world driving.
My mother had a Ford Pinto that was my grandfather’s car. With my father they bought it from my grandmother. Even my parents had a 1998 Ford Explorer. I don’t know about the tires were replaced shortly after the recall. They had that vehicle for 5 years. I even drove it a couple times.

Good video! Yes I'm sure that I did have some products that were not safe or something like that. Another video that I would like to see is one where people have ordered an outfit from somewhere and then it wasn't what they ordered because it looked different. You could also include other items such as pet products that were not the right size and other things like that.
kinda surprised at no mention of the cabbage patch dolls that could eat food. I remember the recalls for that thing being all over the news cause kids would get their fingers and hair caught in the doll's mouth mechanism.
It wasn't Firestone or the explorer itself. It was the Engineers at Ford who decided to put car tires on SUV's because it was cheaper and when they produced a lot of noise and some wobbling... Their solution (rather than recalling or owning up to it) they just under-inflated the tires, it caused instability at high speeds and the temperature to heavily increase and blow-out.
I actually drive a 98 Explorer, and it has the stickers stating "26 PSI" for tire inflation! Never drove it with less than 32 psi. Goodyear tires also.
I was 6 years old playing with cars on the kitchen floor when my mom got a call on the house phone that her brother was in the hospital. He died later that day from internal bleeding from a wreck. His tired unexpectedly exploded on the highway. My cousins lost their only parent because Firestone cut corners when manufacturing tires……
Vietnam war, the M16 Assault Rifle was brought into service for the USMC and Army when at the time the rifle didn't go through any testing phase or lack thereof and the rifle constantly jammed, therefore many troops didn't like the M16. Until a less than few years later then came the revision called the M16A1 which added a forward assist to resolve all the jamming issues.
I actually got seriously sick from peanut butter back when they were calling all peanut products. It was the worst food poisoning I had ever had in my life

The Note 7 wasn’t faulty batteries, it was poor design. The original Note 7 design made it far enough along that they made battery packs for them, but then someone wanted the phones to be smaller. So they shaved space out of the battery compartment without redesigning the battery pack. While charging or running power hungry tasks the battery pack heats up and expands. Without the extra space the hot battery would experience thermal runaway and 💥
Had the Easy Bake oven in '66 as a kid. The heating was provided by an ordinary full size light bulb. Never had a problem with it. The 2006 model this video mentioned had "an actual heating element" maybe making it more hazardous perhaps?
I got a post card from Honda, warning me about a recall due to airbags not deploying. The issue? The recall postcard came well over a year after my rollover accident in my Honda Pilot where NONE of the airbags deployed.
My Samsung phone never exploded, but I did have to switch to a new one. I tried a couple iPhones after that, but each one I had was broken in some way (glitchy screen or noise background during calls). I've been using Motorola ever since with no issues.
My mother is a mechanic and she was dealing with cars and knows that the Firestone incident isn’t Firestone it’s just ford didn’t want another recall and they have more money. Firestone told ford that the explorers could NOT handle a low psi but ford pushed it out and manufactured them anyway which led to the deaths of many
The only recall I had to deal with was the wiper motor on my Chevy equinox I got a letter in mail so I was aware of the issue but the wipers stopped working one day in the rain luckily I was pretty close to home 🏠
If people are talking about the Easy-Bake oven, that's human error, not the product! There are distinct instructions telling you that children have to be with an adult present, and that's a product is actually an oven
There’s a few things I need to say regarding those vehicle recalls notably the explorer and the Toyota issue. The ford explorer issues were partially user inflicted. People didn’t check their tire pressures as often as they should have. As a higher sitting truck based SUV the explorer had a higher center of gravity which made checking tires a more important factor. People didn’t bother and frequently the explorer would have under inflated tires. The combination of under inflation lead to higher temperatures in the tire which increased the risk for a blowout. Secondly people didn’t know how to handle a sudden blowout and their first reaction is to hit the brakes. In a high sitting SUV that’s a great way to flip over. What you actually do is if it’s in the front you hit the gas to transfer weight to the rear and you slowly pull over and coast to a halt. In a rear blowout slowly move to the shoulder while coasting. This was skills most drivers didn’t have despite the vehicle being festooned with warning labels. The Toyota accelerator problem stems from 1 incident in Southern California. A Prius driver claimed he couldn’t slow down after the CHP attempted a traffic stop. CHP used a cruiser rot slow him and stop the car. Post incident inspection was unable to produce the unintended acceleration in the car. I used non standard floor mats in my Tacoma for years with no issues aside from the occasional pull it if it looked too high up. Toyota even claimed they had to shave my pedal down after one recall. ( and they made a mess of my interior with plastic shavings to boot, I did replace that pedal assembly with a non shaved OEM part later). I’ve had 3 Toyotas in my lifetime and have never once experienced unintended acceleration.
I miss my easy bake oven lol it was so fun. I do recall getting a cookie stuck under the little platform so that smelled fantastic until my Dad finally took it apart and fixed it. Oh, btw, yeah teach your kids not to stick their hands in it ffs! No different than a regular oven or stove.
@@gagefarmer9615 There were "ovens" with fake "food" just like that. No heating, plastic or foam food just to play with. It's just one company that made the ovens that can actually bake. Again, age restriction as well as supervision for really young children.
Extremely dangerous products. I'm glad they were recalled. Ford Pinto,Firestone Tires,Ace Bayou bean bags,Graco high chairs. It's amazing cell phone can explode! Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Easy Baker. They should really think when making products. Especially for children. It's terrible what Toyota allowed themselves. Happens to the best. Luckily I don't have experience with this products.
It’s an oven…how did kids not feel the heat? Lesson learned 😂 natural selection at its finest, but also, teach your children that hot means danger! Like???
Maybe an age restriction could’ve prevented most of these. Children up age six would be the most likely to stick their hands inside, so maybe age requirement of “children under 10 must be supervised at all times” could’ve worked.
I was rear-ended, in a 1972 Ford Pinto, the person who hit me was doing about 35 MPH. Nothing happened, except a small dent in the back of my car, and the whole front end of his fiberglass car being destroyed.
I had a feeling the Pinto would be on here. I looked into it a while ago, and it seems it was massively exaggerated. Heh, Joyce's in Stranger Things has been fine so far.
I remember when the Note 7 thing happened and I thought my family was going on a conspiracy rant again about phones being dangerous to your health. Until I actually started seeing the destroyed phones 😅
3. I remember watching an episode of 1000 Ways to Die, where a woman was talking on an Iphone and it exploded, killing her. 10. I guess this means we won't be getting anymore free peanuts at Five Guys.
Is this just for products recalled in this century? If not, you should have added in the recall for the Audi Quattro in the 80s. Through some bizarre error, when people were hitting the brakes, the car malfunctioned and accelerated instead. Caused a lot of serious accidents.
Too bad it was marketed to girls by featuring girls in ads and commercials, using girly colors. Didn’t they know that out of households, it’s either gender that are bakers? They cut the potential customers by half. That said they should’ve age restricted the Easy Bake Ovens. Maybe “children under age 10 (maybe 12) must be supervised” would’ve prevented most kids getting their small hands stuck and burnt.
My dad had to bring his note 7 back to the store cuase of the recall and had me hold it. "Just in case it exploded," were his words real nice and loving their father. 😑
Wait, your 13 year old kid locked themselves inside a bean bag chair, and you’re mad at the *bean bag chair distributioner???* I think I’d be questioning how my kid was going to make it in the world if they would actually do something so foolish.
I had an I phone 7 and the battery got so hot it almost exploded the battery actually blew and it was destroyed I had to turn it to get a new phone it was awful
It was just that one model 15 years ago. They changed the design in a way that was flawed. They changed it back after the recall. Some products don’t need updating. @weirdhistoryfood did an episode on the history of The Easy Bake Oven.

Lol, now I finally understood fully the Pinto joke in Top Secret! 😂
The doll that tried to scalp you
It wasn't Firestone or the explorer itself.
I don’t ever remember having a Note 7, but how did the fixed phones have problems?
“You know Recall’ Recall Recall!” - Total Recall 😂👍🏽
my sister used to have an easy bake oven, I didn't know they recalled those.
That's not why it jammed.. It was developed in a lab, and labs don't have mud/dust/sand.
I actually got seriously sick from peanut butter back when they were calling all peanut products. It was the worst food poisoning I had ever had in my life
Don't forget a out ford car. They knew about it and decided that 15 per car was to much money to the company. And it was cheaper to pay settlements.
Who woulda thought giving children an oven was a bad idea.
No, the bad idea is to let a child use a functional oven without supervision.
Maybe an age restriction could’ve prevented most of these. Children up age six would be the most likely to stick their hands inside, so maybe age requirement of “children under 10 must be supervised at all times” could’ve worked.
Without the extra space the hot battery would experience thermal runaway and 💥
Love the background music
My CPAP was part of a mass recall. I’m not entirely sure why. I sent mine back and was sent a new machine.
I've heard that Chevy Equinoxes were recalled because they had transmission issues.
My mother is a mechanic and she was dealing with cars and knows that the Firestone incident isn’t Firestone it’s just ford didn’t want another recall and they have more money. Firestone told ford that the explorers could NOT handle a low psi but ford pushed it out and manufactured them anyway which led to the deaths of many
I wonder what happened to the easy bake oven.
7:04 That's why I'm switching to iPhone
How many different words can the narrator mispronounce? Make a drinking game out of it!
Didn't have any of those products, but the iPhone 5s left permanent burn scars on my hands from it overheating.
The only recall I had to deal with was the wiper motor on my Chevy equinox I got a letter in mail so I was aware of the issue but the wipers stopped working one day in the rain luckily I was pretty close to home 🏠
I had a 2002 corolla that did that once in a while... It would accelerate even when i turn off the cruise control
Wtf to the the beam bag chair!!? My work place has those and the kids constantly unzip it! My God the people that run it are terrible.
Very good
I had an Easy Bake oven, but it was one of those new designs. I was a fan of Lalaloopsy, so I got the Lalaloopsy oven. IDK where it is now 😅
They really should put warning labels on most stuff.
Or age requirement with children under the age of ten - twelve being supervised.
Scratch this they should make toy ovens without the heating element.
Or toy food made of plastic.
That thumbnail clickbait is so bad that you just got the entire Vatican subscribing.
How did takata airbags not make the list?
It’s an oven…how did kids not feel the heat? Lesson learned 😂 natural selection at its finest, but also, teach your children that hot means danger! Like???
Maybe an age restriction could’ve prevented most of these. Children up age six would be the most likely to stick their hands inside, so maybe age requirement of “children under 10 must be supervised at all times” could’ve worked.
@@whitewolf3051 at six, I could tell if something was too hot to touch…just saying
@@JillianJr Comparedly among the smarter ones, unlike the kids who stuck their hands in. Pretty sure most kids that age needs to be supervised.
Do top ten Pirate Sea Shanty songs.
I knew a family that died in a Pinto from a rear end collision coming home from church.
Took vioxx for a couple weeks and stopped taking it because I had horrible abdominal pains
I was rear-ended, in a 1972 Ford Pinto, the person who hit me was doing about 35 MPH. Nothing happened, except a small dent in the back of my car, and the whole front end of his fiberglass car being destroyed.
I'm so sad Ford and Firestone broke up. That was a couple made in heaven. Love died.
The thing about peanuts? Widespread ecoli and the Ebola virus happened. All vegetables, fruit,s and seeds have to be cleaned before consumption
I recalled the bake oven and none of us got hurt by it.
I never knew that about Toyota 😮
I still wanted an Easy Bake Oven growing up even though I'm a guy.
Yeah a guy?? Don't have to be a typical one hmm
Easy bake ovens aren’t just for girls. If you love to bake just do it.
same haha
Too bad it was marketed to girls by featuring girls in ads and commercials, using girly colors. Didn’t they know that out of households, it’s either gender that are bakers? They cut the potential customers by half.
That said they should’ve age restricted the Easy Bake Ovens. Maybe “children under age 10 (maybe 12) must be supervised” would’ve prevented most kids getting their small hands stuck and burnt.
My first car was a pinto. No problems with it.
My dad had to bring his note 7 back to the store cuase of the recall and had me hold it. "Just in case it exploded," were his words real nice and loving their father. 😑
Wait, your 13 year old kid locked themselves inside a bean bag chair, and you’re mad at the *bean bag chair distributioner???*
I think I’d be questioning how my kid was going to make it in the world if they would actually do something so foolish.
I REMEMBER THE SAMSUNG GALAXY!
I had an I phone 7 and the battery got so hot it almost exploded the battery actually blew and it was destroyed I had to turn it to get a new phone it was awful
Some of these I can understand, but a BEANBAG CHAIR?!
Don't go inside those things and you'll be fine!😮
The Easy Bake Oven has been recalled so many times, you have to wonder why they keep making it?
Because cooking is fun
But Burning yourself isn't. @@frankieseward8667
That’s a good question.
Satisfied customers, more revenue
It was just that one model 15 years ago. They changed the design in a way that was flawed. They changed it back after the recall. Some products don’t need updating. @weirdhistoryfood did an episode on the history of The Easy Bake Oven.
Ford Pinto had to be renamed in South America because it is slang for 'johnson'
Good time to be allergic to peanuts
