      @@lorenzoghetti30 “Much Less” isn’t a number. What are the total tax rates, including any national health taxes like the UK’s mandatory 12% National Health Tax on top of their income tax and sales tax. Those making 50k pounds a year pay 500 pounds month. Make 100k and they pay 1,000 pounds per mo. What’s Italy’s? France and Belgium average around 60-70% aggregate. He gave up his trust fund to feel relevant in never having to struggle for anything. Money gives you the luxury to ponder ideologies.
      Do people think that this CEO is the one making all the decisions in health insurance payouts? A CEO has 1 job: to make money for the investors. Why haven’t the holier than thou pulled their 401ks in protest? They probably never even checked whether their mutual retirement funds include the healthcare sector. Ask mom and dad if your college tuitions were funded by these dividends. Must be nice to live in a black and white world where the good and bad are defined for you like one big superhero movie. Every corporation is evil. So why work and invest in them? Why send your kids to college and hope they get a job in a company that makes money instead of working as a ditch digger?

You say NOTHING to ANYONE, including your fellow jurors (deliberation can be recorded). You say nothing about 'judging the law' or 'voting your conscience'. Does this mean that every employee of big pharma, every drug store that ups the profit margin of drug prices, every doctor and hospital who’s contracted with insurance companies as primary care or specialists are all complicit, too?

    • @neverendingstudent
      @neverendingstudent 21 час назад +1

      Doctors get paid to provide care, drug stores get paid to distribute drugs, etc... many of those you listed get paid to provide service to society (yes I am simplifying this). Health insurance corporations get rich by NOT providing service to society.

    • @A-privilege-not.a-right
      @A-privilege-not.a-right 19 часов назад

      @
      Doctors sign contracts with Ins companies to be in their Networks and get a monthly as well as per patient residual. CVS is just one distribution channel wholesaler along with McKessen and Cardinal. They negotiate wholesale drug prices and rebates. They then mark it up to their own profit margin. Then drug stores also mark it up to their margin and add to the total cost. PBMs control the drug pricing, not just big bad pharma.
      I’ve been in the Healthcare industry for 25 yrs and I’ve never heard multi-billion dollar corporations like the channel distributors and drug store chains as “providing a service”.

      That CEO came from a low working class background and went from an accountant to CEO in 20 years. This is what every lower socio-economic class parent hopes for their kid. The American dream. Meanwhile the shtttern came from privileged upper middle class who went to ivy league. Having money and no struggles gives them the luxury to ponder ideology. Think he ever struggled to make his medical payments? The CEO was a figurehead.
      In the UK, 12% is the mandatory national health tax on top of the 40-50% income tax and a 20% sales tax. You’ll need an extra 6k for that $30k car you buy. Food is taxed too. That means if you make 100k a year, you pay 12k or a thousand dollars a month for “free socialized healthcare”. In the UK and EU, people can’t get appointments and have to settle for the cheap drugs that the government puts on the approved coverage list. So if your kid’s got cancer, he’s getting the cheapest chemo, not the targeted advanced medicines of today. Good luck with your socialist free healthcare.
