I like how you took the time to edit over the Siege Mirage parts in order to convey your thoughts on Kingdom Mirage, but in the vehicle comparisons you still call Optimus Bluestreak I don’t know if that was intentional or not but I think it’s really funny
@@xenomorph_636 The joke is the Audio is just the review of the Siege Mirage figure, with the audio edited to reflect changes between the two versions of the mold.
Honestly, a lot of the attempts to turn Siege molds into earth versions didn't really work well at hiding the Siege DNA if your name wasn't Sideswipe who basically had an Earth mode already.
I never noticed Mirage was the 26th orc... That's why your reviews are important to me, I'd never pick up on this critical detail without your assistance!
What I don't get is why they tried to update Mirage's classic 70's F1 design to a modern-ish F1 design, when the old Ligier shape just simply works better for turning it into a robot. Legacy Dragstrip still is the '76/'77 Tyrell and looks and works fine in both modes. Mirage deserved the same treatment in my opinion.
Especially when you consider Mirage is supposed to be old money, and that's exactly the kind of person that would be able to keep and maintain a vintage F1 car, and have the inclination to enjoy one...
This review cemented the fact that as cool as Velocitron Crasher's deco is...I'm already pretty happy with my hard-searched Movie Fracture. She's not as chunky, but the Classics Mirage frame helps her vibe as a speedy bully. And I paid a bit for her. Why shell out again for some "superior" Crasher?
While it does have the faux chest, it’s still an improvement over the siege tooling (besides the lack of shoulder cannon) because the legs aren’t mostly clear plastic, which I heard started breaking quite frequently after having the figure for over a year or so, and it hides the faux chest a lot better. The car mode is also better, but I feel like there wasn’t much contest against the siege one because I really hate the siege tooling’s alt mode
This clever little vid really does put the "Lazy" in The Lazy Eyebrow 😂😂 But seriously tho, a really smart way of doing a review of a slightly updated version of a toy. Well freaking done, well freaking done indeed! Also Love how this video is basically what this mirage figure is...
Revisiting these Mirage reviews back-to-back after getting the G2 Toxitron repaint. It makes total sense that you're not a fan of the non-G1 transformation here when they're throwing it into what's CLEARLY supposed to be a G1 character. That being said... have you ever tried your hand at a Speed Star from Transform Element? It's much more G1-accurate, but man alive, the leaps and bounds it takes to GET there... lol
Something feels off about his chest, since he's it's more bulkier. And I think a sleeker design could have complimented his characteristics. As he'd be able to move faster, and be less clunky. You know the kind of stuff, that would benefit you in stealth.
Lol love the almost passive-aggressive back and forth. Added some amusing touch to the retool mini review. I passed on Kingdom Mirage because I already had the Siege version (and the holo/invisible version from pack with Impactor *twitch translucent plastic twitch*), didn't like the retool taking away his shoulder mount point, or his being an online exclusive packed with another retool/repaint I didn't really care about. But it doesn't matter as I got the remold as Leadfoot (who came with a more interesting pack mate retool), and will eventually again with Crasher. And honestly I think those two look better than Mirage does.
Can I say one thing he's back? It's good to have you back The Lazy Eyebrow. I have been recently adding more to my transformers collection. Have about 22 Decepticons and 2 autobots. I am right now collecting Autobot's
With the clear plastic on Siege and Amazon being a pain in the ass (and I have Dinobot, don't need Grimlock) makes me glad I got the Netflix version and Crasher; I know she isn't accurate but I'm just glad to have her (and the mold) as a figure.
I like the Siege one better. It looks like a futuristic Earth mode to me. Edit: F-0 would have actually been better for Siege and the whole alien vehicle thing.
I personally think this mold is good as literally anyone other than mirage. I sold the mirage version some time ago and then got the leadfoot version. I really like the leadfoot version and you can bet your ass I’m gonna get the crasher version.
What are the rods called you use to hold your flying figures up I’m doing stop motions and I need one lol pls help 😅 also what stop motion or editing app you use
I guess we can call this the first ever retooled video review. Gotta say it makes sense for a figure like this. I’m still probably gonna get it though. Great video as always, Lazy Eyebrow.
This shows more what is wrong with faux parts like the Siege Seekers the Siekers did it really well I’d say but this felt less like “Yeah I’d get it’d be impossible for you to be well proportioned if you didn’t” and more like “GOTTA BE LIKE G1 GOTTA BE LIKE G1 GOTTA BE LIKE G1!”
I don't know if that was the intention, but I cackled throughout all the video xD I handled this figure as I split the 2 pack with a friend who also asked me to do a shoulder missile adapter for it and so I got to directly compare it to my Siege Mirage and it's a tough comparison, but I think ultimately I prefer the Siege version because I can more easily forgive the rampant fauxery when it's not supposed to be an Earthmode to beign with AND he can actually plug the shoulder cannon on his shoulder. Still, I'm glad to have some vesion of the retool via Leadfoot.
I was laughing my ass off when I saw the reason why all that dialogue was dubbed over... it's a parody of lazily retooling Siege figures into Earthrise and Kingdom figures. You, my bud, deserve an award.
The main reason to get this figure is if you really, really love Mirage, don't have Classics, and/or hate Siege's greebling. It's the epitome of "just okay" in a Transformers toy.
still don't get why both versions have the front axle not be collapsible to clean up the calf-bulk and improve the articulation outside of budget constraints, but it just boggles my mind that this figure got locked up in Amazon Jail (especially since Hasbro's been all about giving *_all_* the love/attention to G1 since Titans Return at least)
@@TheLazyEyebrow but it's got so much subtracted mass as well, do you need to parts-form it? Maybe that should be the next diet review, all the modifications you did to siege hound.
@@shaldurprime7154 i need to finish it first, but no, no parts forming. The seats slot into a cavity, and the windshield folds over on top of it. Wheels are changed out. Last thing to do is design a new front
I actually doubled back and kept my SIEGE Mirage and now trying to get rid of Kingdom Mirage. I had toyhax labels on both, plus a 3D printed shoulder mount for Kingdom, readying him to replace my Siege one, but the figure never felt right in my hands.
Script, meet White-out. I think I agree with you. It’s pretty decent over all, but not much better. Mines connection from faux chest to legs in car more is weak, but that’s a production error with not much to fix it. I did buy an add on to allow him to shoulder mount his guns, and he can completely transform without removing it too. Now my F-1-ish car has a rear bumper. So that’s neat.
I 100% agree with this assessment. I never liked the Siege nor the Kingdom versions as Mirage. It just feels way off. However, I will disagree slightly about Leadfoot (but not about Crasher). I recently managed to get Leadfoot on his own for good price. And while he's transformation isn't a perfect match for his G(1?2) version, it does fit him a hell of a lot better. Even more so if you spin the spoilers back so greebley bits are facing forward. As for the Siege version, I actually have the Netflix Trilogy version of it and I'm planning to customize it into Slapdash. The big block in the back reminds me of him and the transformation also fits him better than Mirage.

I can always get the Toxitron Mirage too, but yeah, I'm glad I got the Siege over the Kingdom.
You've noticed that the sides of the vehicle become the front of the shins instead of the sides? Yeah, WFC has a surprising amount of stuff like that in lower quantities that make them *close* to G1 without actually being it. Like, Earthrise Cliffjumper does have the roof of the car become the chest, but in comparison to the original it's upside down. I don't have a problem because I don't care for accuracy.
