    Thanks Bjorn, very nice views in the morning light. Good to see how much it pulled back with high regen capability.

    2:26 the next gen Volvo's starting with the EX90 will automatically brake for this situation with small animals and small kids using Luminar Lidar Lidar technology on top of the roof, not just "large animal" detection that recent Volvo's are known for in the past decade.

    crazy to watch the battery charging all the way down the hill! Great series of videos.

  • @mdshovel

    That looks like the best test up and down that hill so far. The OPD is really good on the XC40, seamlessly blends in footbrake if needed - and actually saves brake overheat/fade. Can see they've done a lot of work since your last video run. I am a fan of the overall XC40 Twin

    K Tam, do you want more challenge? try Pai Mae Hong Son it has a massive 1864 curves that will definitely stress out the ORA CAT. I've been there, got a headache, i couldn't drive it

    Wow, I just drove there on my motorbike a few days ago, but downhill. I can confirm how steep it is, my brakes were smoking!

    I do EV road trips into charging deserts on my RUclips channel. All of them I do in an XC40 Recharge. The first one I did was to a place called Roan Mountain. The Android Auto app in the dash does a superb job of estimating battery when large elevation changes are on the route. On my way back, I was actually able to increase my SoC due to the long regen downhill and the in-dash nav was spot on. Thx for the vid. As far a acceleration in the XC40 Recharge, there is no chill mode. Head rests are soft though to catch you skull as it slams back from a hammer drops.

    Hi Bjorn, could you make your 0% test with this car:)? - below 10% this battery limit's the power like crazy - so what will happen at 0% - scary:) !

  • @mdshovel
    @mdshovel 2 года назад +2

    It would have helped to have the OBD reader showing the motor and battery temperatures that you usually have

    • @mdshovel

      @@bjornnyland that is a pity. Is it a Volvo thing or is there something else that does - have you never been able to read the XC40 through OBD?

    Pai is phase 1, phase 2 is a mountain run, on the West most (Myanmar) side, that takes around 6 days to reach Tak ( man that trip was crazy)

    Uphill spent 13%, and downhill got 4% back. Again about 30% recuperation. This is similar to the Tesla Model Y RWD results you uploaded two weeks ago.
