  • This is Volvo's first electric SUV. It's quick, powerful, luxurious and very well thought out. I wasn't expecting a lot when reviewing this electric car. However, after this review, I think this might be one of the best EVs on sale under $100,000 here in Australia.

Chasis was not designed just fora petrol engine vehicle but was designed to accommodate 3 different engine configurations: gas, hybrid and EV. So EV was part of the design consideration from the get -go.

Excellent review, comprehensive, clear and informative. We ordered one in Feb 22, took delivery late December 22. A truly phenomenal car!

Cheers, thank you! It's a great EV option in the SUV space.

Great review. Much like other manufacturers, availability is none with orders only. I'm keen to get an electric car, but so much is charging at the moment, 12 month wait means the delivered car could easily out dated. I'm reading until supply chains get back up.

What is the acceleration rate on this verses a fuel injected version?

    • @ProductReviewCars

0-100km/h for the Pure Electric is 4.9 seconds. 0-100km/h for the T5 R-Design Petrol is 6.4 seconds.

I love the car. I like the petrol powered grill better than the electric which I think looks plasticky. I hope it’s Volvo safe because I would be in an accident in no time driving on the right side of the road. Thanks for posting! This is my first video.

How often do you really charge from zero to eighty? More like some 10 to 20 % up to as much as you need for getting home to your own charger.

Oh not often at all. Found it's usually between 30-80% for daily driving and charging from a household plug. It's just a reassuring measurement most EV manufacturers use to help buyers understand how little time it takes to charge most of the battery.

Looks like Volvo engineers were in some hurry and shoved some batteries and motor into petrol car lol 😂, agree with you about the interior and dashboard are really nice.

Most manufacturers do that, they refurbish an existing platform in an attempt to easily enter the EV market

    • @markmedley6849

They usually ruin a nice looking car by making it boring. They also paint them earth colors like sky blue and sea foam green.

The platform was designed for both electric and ICE. It would be almost impossible to shoehorn batteries into a standard ICE car.

Most of what you would need/want while driving, can be accessed by asking Google.

It's probably my favourite feature in any car. Just ask and it actually works!

So basically you would need to put it on charge at home every day with a normal charger or get 3 phase installed.72 hours for 0-100 % charge seems very slow .That’s the only thing that lets this car down .

12:48 you can clearly see it has the same problem as the model 3. Squatting position in the back making it unfit for purpose for rear passengers on long journeys. Unless you have young children.

Model Y fixes that. But the Volvo is still very comfortable.

Interesting. When you're in it, it feels pretty luxurious, visually it is minimalistic

Volvo is a scam! My 2023 Volvo has a steering wheel that vibrates very badly, making it quite annoying and UNSAFE to drive

    • @ProductReviewCars

Probably should get that checked out

@@ProductReviewCars I brought to a dealership for the vibration issue 5 times, and both the dealer mechanic and manager, as well as a Volvo engineer, have experienced and acknowledged the vibration issue I've been having, I have all the video evidence to prove that. However, despite contacting Volvo about the issue, they have stopped replying to my emails. I will contact local news and file a Lemon law

Hmmm, ICE chassis, transmission tunnel, small screen, non-LFP battery ... pass.
