This was so interesting to watch. I grew up in Leadville-lived there for 14 years. My grandfather owned the town's only barber shop on Harrison Ave, my grandmother worked at a bakery at the other end of the block and the owner used to let me frost sugar cookies there. My mother worked at the real estate office across the street and my dad rescued tourist who decided to explore mine shafts. I spent many summers at Turquoise Lake. Yes, it looks very low. Some of the best memories of my life are from my time in that little town. This was like a walk down memory lane.

Gossamer Gear makes an add on pocket for your pack straps to hold a cell phone. I just got one for a day pack that lacks outer storage. It's very well made and straps securely to the pack straps.

The fact that I started watching you maybe about 13 years ago, amazing how your life has done a 360 lol. I started watching because I enjoyed your housewife videos but I guess I just enjoy watching you because I like these videos just as much even though they are so different from where you started. Im glad that even though your life style changed you still found a way to share so thank you for that. Your videos get me though my housewife duties lol. ❤❤❤ Every once in awhile I would love to see a home video maybe lol like old times. But in the meantime I'll travel with you 😊

I feel the same way! I was thinking that what I must like is the attention to detail, the planning, the organization, being prepared, being thoughtful. Those things transfer from home stuff, Disney runs and, apparently, hiking LOL. :)

I nice tip when it is chilly, use hand and feet warmers under your covers or fill up a hot water bottle as well. When my son was in boy scouts we use to put them in our sleeping bags and it helped to keep you warmer. Thanks for sharing your adventures!

Hi Jen, I’m pretty sure these videos may be after the actual date. But I wanted to let you know that one of news stories this am 07/28/23 was regarding there is currently a man who is attacking women who are alone hiking. I’m Colorado Hoping that you are already home. If please please e very careful. Ask the local sheriffs department for further information. Karen~

You have been such an inspiration to me since "what's in my walking pharmacy" and I've been invested since. You have been though hell and back and I think you are absolutely incredible and so brave for this new chapter of camping. I used to work at REI and you are inspiring me to get my inner camping girl out! Keep up the great work!

I’m only halfway through, but I think you are packing correctly. I live in Colorado and we hear all the time about people overdue on hikes who were not prepared. It often doesn’t end well in that scenario. I think being prepared is always the best option!
Editing after I’ve finished watching to say: great job!! That’s quite the accomplishment. Thanks for bringing us along.

I’m not sure, I don’t tend to daydream about things that aren’t my current reality. Life kind of stomps that out of you as you get older, for better or worse 😉 However, I imagine if I could live anywhere I’d be closer to mountains.
