- They told us a very strong hurricane was headed our way and set to hit this weekend.
Here's me, let's go have sone fun with minimalists gear and see what happens.
now that's an Au-some sauce view my brother ...... good job getting those balloon's ...and saving a butterfly too ...Super Congrats my friend ...had a guy leave a comment and he mentioned your name and a few others, wanted to know if you know these guys " Disney Ron/40 plus years< Saturday Bob about 45 years and a few others> Disney Ron has almost 100 mines located in that area. only guy I know who's been to the eagle and dollar in the last 20 plus years! the stamp mill still stands - Ron found a 9 oz nugget in the narrows>back pack Dave comes in at 4oz then recon John and Kevin brown at 5oz then bill Jennings at 7 oz and big John murdered for his gold back in the early 90's unconfirmed 11 oz!!! said to tell Alan that fig tree mine/horse shoe annex had that goat skeleton near the entrance for a couple years now , bear wasn't the culprit was a mountain lion ..... some day hoping Alan aka Pharaoh beats that mine count and writes a book, Disney Ron already started his and hopes to compare places and stories with him some night at a campfire on the fork " Thanks and stay warm
Saturday Bob is semi-retired it seems, rarely see him anymore. I know a Disney Dave, and a Snake boots Dave who works on Disney lighting, Kevin bought a cabin in Big ass Bear a few years back and rarely if ever steps foot in the canyon. Backpacker Dave left shop, burned all the stuff he used back there and sold his nugget with a chain he had made from smaller nuggets and flakes he found over the years. The nugget was shaped like an egg and has a piece of quarts sticking out of it, so they said it would never be melted. Worth more in the natural form. He had the nugget hanging from the chain and word on the trail is he got $97,000 plus. He was seen pan handling Venice beach a couple years later. No news since. Burnie, the mayor of nugget alley used to buy the guys gold and turn around and sell it for a bit more to someone in the city. He got caught growing at his house before it was legal and selling mass quantity. the old hoosegow for him. I made it to the Dollar with Eric, before he died. He had problems swallowing on that trip and it got worse the next day. The day we came out he went to the e.r. and they told him it was stage 3 cancer, throat stomach and intestine. He went fast, R.I.P. brother! I have the head of the sheep from the annex in my dad's garage. I found it, or another, a few hundred feet above the mine on an old trail that once led to the canyon between iron and rattle snake. It was the ONLY way into it and its long gone. I have tried from all directions to get into it, you see, I have figured out the Sedley peck clues and not too far from there, believe I have located the mine he speaks of that the Tongva waved him away from. If it holds the gold, he said it did, it might be my greatest find of my life! If so, I may have to ask ol slim for some help hauling out the goods! I have met thousands of people over the last 42 plus years in the range and have seen and done things few will believe but there has almost always been someone with me to see it happen. One day, you and I will walk together. cheers my friend
Please hit that thumb if you liked it and pass it around. Cheers guys
PHARRAOH - ''Camps in bear infested woods. During a hurricane. With only the stuff in his pocket. For a month ''! I admire him even if he isn't a wolf. Thanks for your amazing video's..
thanks
Cool…I just knew you were going to do this…👍 Alan 1 Hilary 0

Now that was awesome Alan! Can count on you to head out for an overnighter during a hurricane with only minimal gear, haha. Good stuff man! 👍
Oh... the name of the channel that did stove tests back in the day was Hiram Cook. Good guy... too bad that he doesn't do vids anymore though.
🎵 Raindrops Falling on My Head🎵. Now I got that song stuck in my head
Well HellToTheYeah Brother get a little camping 🏕 in the storm 😊 that stove is sweet , we had none stop raining out here

You the man⛈️🌲🌧️
cheers
That looked so awesome. Glad you got up there. Not like you missed anything with HH... LOL
cant pass of a rare thing my friend
We use to get rains that lasted 4 or 5 days when I was young. We got 6 inches at Monte Cristo. No damage to speak of. It’s the 2+ inches an hour that will get you.
I remember back in 7rth grade, 1978, it rained for 2 weeks straight, that year boogie boards hit the market and a kid named dan Patterson had one, he got in a storm drain and was hauling ass town the cement v pattern wash. A drafting teacher named sellway, ran ahead of him and hoped the fence and grabbed his ass, right before he would have shot down a tunnel, That went under the street. He saved that kids life! But the rin on the city street was over flowing the curbs in some place. We kids stood along side the road waving on coming trucks to hit the puddle and send a tiddle wave over us. So much fun!
Very Cool Camp spot And everything turned out ok .. Im in Chino Hills and we got a lot of heavy rain 🤘🏼
cheers
Man, that's a nice spot.
I had my eye on it for years. the rain and full lake sent me that way.
Fun video! Thanks for sharing.
cheers
Awesome video, was up there bout 2 months ago and nailed 7 big bass using the tadpoles as bait.
thanks for watching
Awesome 🌲⛰🏕 video bro 👍🏽✌🏽1

The legend in action. Awesome Alan
thanks for watching
Going up with the Sasquatch
better than going down on sasquatch!
You are truly an adventure warrior! Love it! haha!
cheers
Cool my friend ! You reminded me of my surplus poncho ,bivy and Woobie ! I gotta break that stuff out and get out and use it ! Your awesome, cheers
throw it all into the mix
Great poncho action. Awesome view, Crystal Lake is looking nice. I was out next to Hemet Lake this weekend expecting much more rain as well... weak ass Hillary. Thank you for sharing. Take care Alan. 🇺🇲
I was hearing bugs bunny in my head, batten down the hatches, Then the little kangaroos, I did batten them down, then bugs again, Well, batten them down again, we'll teach them hatches!
Beautiful! Love the sound of rain on my tarp.
My Caldera is shorter for a wider pot. I like the size of yours. TWSS
Tagay!
I dont care for them WIDE pots, give me a 1980's Sherell Tiggs or Sherrel, lads size pot any day. Just saying and with a tint of brass for good measure
Sweet little trip.
thanks for watching
Nice spot man! Rain and the lake, what more could you want.
some fine ass yellowtail to enjoy in the shelter
@@PHARRAOH did you noodle it out of the lake?
We didn't get alot of lightning and wind here in pinon hills but we had a river running down the dirt road out front . It's nice to not fear nature obviously if something bad would have occurred you would have at least gone out doing what you like most.
thats what she said
Great video man. No way I could have fit in that poncho. I wished I was a little bit smaller hahaha
leg crampage around 4am. got out in the rain and didn a little stretching.
Wonder what happened to ole Hiram Cook. Definitely enjoyed some of his stove videos also
Vanished without a trace. Now, I'm not sayin it was aliens, but it was aliens! Some serious fire in the sky action
good job my friend
thanks for watching
the sound when popping the balloons sounded like a james bond suppressed pistol.
yep them nwo dudes always out to take me down. Missed me by that much!
My twin and i were in our tents, hunting piute mnt area, shitlary dropped 24hrs heavy rain and 24hrs of regular rain. Brothers tent failed in 24hrs of heavy rain. We love tents in storms! Cheers!
In 1 of my videos in gorgonio. I was under an 8 x 10 tarp 2 days none stop rain! My car nearly got covered in a mud slide
@@PHARRAOH I'll bet that was the storm that closed the 58 a few yrs back. My bro n I were is the same area as before, just marveling at the tremendous thunder, lightning, and rain. Seemed like the lightning was below us in Erskin cyn. WOW, what a storm.
Great video Alan. Always great to test your skills and minimal gear!! Thanks for taking us along! Stay safe!!
fished the lake earlier that same day, then took my brother home, took a 2 hour snooze and went right back up for the storm
BERWYN! Great shirt, love Svengoolie!!
a rubber chicken just bounced off my skull!
Rich loves those things, great memories!!
Good video Alan. Nice camp spot. I reckon the SMD Gatewood cape would have been a good choice. I use a similar stove (a "Stormin' Norman" 2 piece cone, with a 400ml mug) - they are efficient. I use it with either a small alcohol burner or solid fuel tablets. ATB
super lite way to go
That was a really cool video. Definitely showcased a prime example of proper use of gear to whether the storm.
Awesome stove set up also. Nice solo adventure to feed the soul.
You know that range, but that range knows you .
its got my number I've herd word on the trail. oh well.
Very nice, Alan! I bicycle / hammock camped at Glenn Campground Sat nite.
Disappointed, the rain didn’t begin til like 4am… was hoping for a stormy evening lol 😅
I was this close to unicycle packing to Glenn too
storm got pretty wild in glendora, for a good 20 minutes it was downpouring around 6:30pm
on my way off the mountain, it was a slalom of dodging rock and boulders.
Cool cameo on Jeff Williams vid👍🏽.
what?
That deer was a shapeshifter 😮….there must be plenty of sightings of things in that area? if not folk are keeping quiet due to being ridiculed …..🤔
Cristal lake is getting all this. Is going to look so good. I went there like 2 or 3 weeks ago. So peaceful place.
7" of rain it got
You are a brave man!
after so many years, it gets to be routine and almost all fear is gone. Thats when people make that one mistake and it's over. But it was fun right up to the end, right?
@@PHARRAOH 🤣🤣🤣
Good job Allen and really nice location
it was the best I could think of to experience the so called hurricane
I think the hurricane hit land and dissipated very quickly.
Send that water to Lake Mead
or keep it behind our dams, why let it all run to sea? to wash out the homeless is my guess. and to have something to try to worry the brainwashed with, to allow mass quantities of cash to flow into the pockets of the many, thieving, murdering, lying ass scum that run the show
💯👌
cheers
Fuck Yeah!
thats what she said
Him ain’t scared.
Nah, only during slaastack mating season!😮
@@PHARRAOH Never heard of that and thought I had heard it all.
@@PHARRAOH Slaastack come back oh buddy. 10/4.
@@PHARRAOH Ain’t No season for them two legged dear.
Great trip out, cracking spot to chill 👍 the cone stove looks good.
Always enjoy a poncho video
So Cal's weather forecasters have no shame at all.
Loved the view you had of Crystal Lake from your tarp. I heard Crystal Lake ended up getting around 7 inches of rain!
thats what she hoped for
Beautiful lake
Hiram Cook
He vanished completely without a trace?
I know/knew, another that went that route, learned he was shot in a convenient store hold up. Just went for a few items and caught a stray bullet. One never knows!
@@PHARRAOH Hiram Cook last Facebook was 2 years ago.
@@scottp7587 weird, huh?
@@PHARRAOH Yikes, lets hope Hiram hasn't done the same. I figured old age got him.
Don't cha just luv that hype? I live 4 1/2 hrs north from the Gulf of Mexico, and it's the same thing here. I've been in several hurricanes, but not on the coast when they made landfall, so muchly reduced windage. Nevertheless, sometimes we get a good blow. Anyway, one week out from a landfall, and all the toilet paper and milk is wiped out from the stores, lol.
BUT, I had no way of knowing it would weaken, so I was planning on some serious action.
