My grandmother pressed and curled her hair most of her life. She had a head full of hair when she died at 100 a few years ago. She didn't do a bunch of stuff creams and gels and conditioners. Just her little bit of tcb. I just wash and a little cream, air dry. I pick it out. That's it. I have a lot of hair at 60.
I disagree with not washing gray hair at least once a week. I workout and I sweat in my scalp. I don’t refresh because my hair is washed and conditioned every 4-5 days and it’s hydrated, not dry.
Yes, of course. This is based on her regimen & lifestyle. We have to all do what we are comfortable with. Taking care of this scalp & hair is a learning process & a well worth it journey....I want to grow my hair to my waist. After going natural 2.5 years ago & only do my hair myself I am still learning through my stages of growth...lil tweeks along the way. Thankful for the experience. All the best!
Not to mention if you refresh your style and add a little more product(s). In a month my hair would be disgusting... but, I acknowledge that she said according to your preference and lifestyle, so I guess if you don't use styling products decreased washing could work.
God, people wash your hair based on your lifestyle and hair texture. I wash mine twice weekly in the winter and every other day in the summer because l sweat in my head, use oils in my styling, and l have fine textured curls! Otherwise, this is a pretty video. Her gray hair is pretty ❤
Today is August 18th, 2022 and I love your hair. My hair has a grey patch in the front on the left side and it has been there since I was 22. My hair is growing back from having breast cancer twice. This is the second time that it's growing back. It has grown down to my ear lobe and my scalp is still sensitive because I am still taking cancer medication. I shampoo and condition my hair once a month and I message my scalp twice a day morning and night. I oil it every other day. Thank you for your video. God's continued love and blessings to you.
I am a long time natural with grey hair. I do everything you said to be true except washing only once per month. If we use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners that are right for our hair type, it won’t dry out the hair when shampooing weekly. It it takes weeks for the moisture level to return to the hair after a shampoo, you are using the wrong products…
I have basically went through the same experience as u did w ur grey's. And to allow them to grow in has been 1 of the best decision I made. I wash my hair every week and sometimes 3 times a week! My hair loves it and sparkles. I have noticed that my hair has darken up and bright white around my hair line! I actually really love my hair! I never used to say this! I love the tips especially tying ur scarf too tight! I have learned the hard way, lol. Thank you for this video 👑🤗❤️
I’ve had gray since 16 and now at 48 it’s pretty heavy in the front. I love the gray. I never colored because I noticed how my Aunt’s hair started turning yellow so I decided to embrace the gray. I do have to wash my hair once a week. Working out and my hair is prone to product build up, it must be washed every week. Thank you for sharing.m
I'm not currently having any struggles with my grey curls. I started going grey at 10 but I never used color and only had one relaxer and one touch up and that was the end of relaxers for me. The only thing that I don't do that Keisha does is shampoo only once a month. I usually shampoo every 5 - 7 days, but I don't have as much grey as she does, and my grey doesn't seem to be weak.
My dad and brother washed their hair everyday in the shower using shampoo and they both had beautiful hair. They didn’t use a conditioner just a hair cream after the washed it, both had gray hair.
Oh, and I would never go longer than a week without washing my hair. My scalp would be itching like crazy. I use moisturizing shampoos and moisturizing conditioners. I do a clarifying shampoo monthly followed by a moisturizing conditioner the other weeks its moisture shampoo
Very smart idea. I don’t have a clarifying shampoo but I’m going to get one I have tight kinky hair and it’s mostly white now with some darker shadows here and there but I wash my hair almost every week cause my scalp is dry and itchy also.

I loved the advice in this video. I only have one competing comment, and it is regarding the result of letting henna go. It should not turn green at any point. It is my understanding that it only does that green thing if it is not pure, natural henna. If the box states that it gives you any color but a shade of red/orange, it is not pure henna. I used to henna/indigo my hair. The only complaint I had with it is that the indigo would let go first leaving me with a dark golden brown hair tone if I used thick creams like shea butter. It was hard to moisturize my hair using henna/indigo. I finally got tired of trying to work with henna/indigo as it is an all-day thing. Dark golden brown is a beautiful color except it is barely darker than my skin leaving me looking like I have bald spots.
Hi there . I think your hair is beautiful . I’m 66 an my gray is taking its time to come in . I hav small patches jus below my temples. But hoping it will speed up, an come on in … I love the silver shiny hair. So keep up the beautiful work with your hair!!
Loved this video…my gray curls are a different texture and are more coarse than my none gray curls…they break easily as well…great tips!!! I’m embracing them though, no matter what…I’d definitely be interested in the temporary color instead. ☺️
thank you for this informative video on grey hair. this video actually popped up in my feed. when i was younger, second grade as well, my hair dresser notice grey hairs around my crown and randomly throughout. it runs in my family and now after being natural for 10 years and occasionally using semi-permanent coloring has gone away, i am white on most of my roots and edges mixed with salt and pepper sparkles throughout. im so confused, i was about to do everything you said not to do, lol. so thanks for video.
You may want to check out Irish Moss as a base for styling gel. Irish Moss is a seaweed that can be found dry in health food stores or online. It makes a cool gel, much like Jello, that can be mixed with other ingredients are used by itself. I am still experimenting with it. Right now, I'm using it as a daily hair gel for styling my natural hair.
I was so excited to try sea moss as a hair gel. Girrrrl, my hair was a wet matted mess! I had to leave my conditioner on for hours to detangle my hair 😢. I'm glad it works for some folks, but it's a no from me.
I have a head full of grey hair, she is salt more pepper, so she can do a once a month wash, the dirt won’t show in her hair, my hair would look horrible, I tried it so I’m talking from experience , never again.
I last dyed my hair March 2019. I used gray hair cosmetics like sprays as I transitioned or wore silver gray wigs so I could get used to seeing myself with light colored hair. I always use clear, white, blue and purple products. The white hair is more straight and wiry than my salt pepper so I have to treat different parts of my hair differently. I would never go back to straightening or coloring my hair. Your hair looks so pretty. Thank you for your channel
I've started washing my hair every 2-3 days and then apply only grease. it's more moisturized and way less breakage. the grease that's left on the hair acts like a coating protecting the hair strands from the shampoo so your scalp gets the most cleansing.
I’ve been graying since I was 14. I keep my hair short and natural and I wash it everyday when I shower. Don’t know if it’s right or wrong but that’s just something I’ve been doing my whole life and my hair is healthy and full. No problems here.
God reminded me of this reality regarding my woolly and white as snow hair. I love and receive compliments all the time. To God be all the glory for giving me to strength to embrace the natural beauty He has blessed us with when society wants to conform us to the ways of the world insecurity in order to keep our mindset in shackles. 😊
My gray hair is growing in the same way and it’s moving on back to almost the whole top half from ear to ear! I need to find nice styles because I do have that line of demarcation lol. My last dye was Sept of 2022! I love my hair
No real struggles here either! It is important to tailor your process to YOUR hair! I wet my hair every day and wash weekly. I've found that my hair loves water, LOL! All those years I spent avoiding it.....when you know better, you do better though...
Mine adores water too! I brush it out morning and night, then spritz it with water, and add a thin application of olive oil mixed with black seed oil to lock in the moisture. I also make a leave in hair conditioner made from Irish moss seaweed and water, which is cooling and light.
My gray refuses all products…like super low porosity. Its always frizzy And looks puffy while the non gray hair is super plump and curly. I used to be frustrated but the fact that I was stressed about something that I was really okay with (it was other people) was crazy.
fingers crossed you see this....what did you do to correct after using yellow products? how long did it take to come back? i just had my har severely tinted. Clarified and cowashed and its still yellow...not as bad but it's still there. Scared to try purple shampoo. thanks for this video!
Going grey since second! I was using my moms color of auburn from then. She would let name use her. extra mixture of color for a portion of my beautiful mane Now it’s call highlighting lol
Finally! A straightforward presentation about our grey hair. I have a full head of slowly greying hair, which I wash about once every three weeks or so. Years ago, I lived in Saudi Arabia, and found that I had to spritz my hair with water 3 times a day, lightly applying oil at least once a day due to the extremely dry, hot climate. FYI: Saudi Arabia is a great place to take care of your hair. Since women cover their heads with the hijab(scarf), living there is a great place to work on any hair issues since no one sees your hair anyway. Your advice is spot on. Thank you!
I disagree with only washing your hair once a month. Your scalp is skin and needs to be washed just like the rest of your body. Plus, dirty hair and scalp stinks. Just a little know fact.
Ridiculous wives tales about washing. Skin is skin and not washing your hair frquently is poor hygiene. Watch Anthony Dickey instead of someone withouy any common sense.
I wish my scalp could go w/o washing for two weeks to a mth! That has always been a problem regardless of how much products I use or not on my hair & forget about it on my scalp… it’s itchy crunch galore 😂
*Comment down below what your biggest struggles are with your gray curls?*
I'm getting ready to buy curlmix. I have silver hair all over my head, are all your products free of yellow so my hair doesn't become yellowish

Just her little bit of tcb. I just wash and a little cream, air dry. I pick it out. That's it. I have a lot of hair at 60.
TCB brought a memory. I can still smell it!
Again guys it all depends ! Sounds like yours is hereditary

…I suppose it depends on each person’s texture.
My hair has gotten used to being washed once a week. My curls be mad when I try to wait two weeks 😂😂😂

How do you keep grey hair moisturized? My hair is always dry and frizzy.
P Saddler, I agree.
I have noticed that my gray hair does not curl as easily. Thinking about not dying my hair anymore and just embracing my gray.
One day you will wake up and realize it's time to let go and go gray. You'll know. At least that's what happened to me.
Totally agree

I'm not a hairologist but it do believe texture plays a big part in dos/don't.
Girl join still talkin bout you and your peoples hair - she said over and over it depends

My greys grow in the same way. This was helpful
Your hair is beautiful. I started going gray in my 50’s.
I loved the advice in this video.

Yeah me too I have more gray than she does and washing once a month is not an option. My hair does so much better when it’s clean.

@@themrs1994 Our scalp needs cleansing. Going a month without shampooing and conditioning can lead to scalp issues.

Beautiful hair and grey!
Girl your hair looks very healthy, my hair are very dry, please help me
Thank you a concise talk. No selling points. Oh I am glad you talked about the hair washing advise you received from your stylist. ❤❤❤❤
I started growing gray in my mid 50’s but most came in my 60’s.

Beginning gray locs
What did you use to get that beautiful braid/twist out and how do you maintain it at night?
Thanks for the tips on the gray hair

thank you thats all i have been asking,
You said that you only shampoo once a month. What you do in between, cowashing?
I will try to don't wash my hair weekly as long as I can to see how is go.. 🤔
Heat and any hair type is a tragedy. If there's a special occasion, that's why we have wigs! Abuse the heck outta it not your natural mane.
It’s beautiful
My name is Keisha too😊
What white based products would you recommend? I'm struggling to find edge control that isn't yellow and it turns my hair yellow!
Arconi crown gel
I use (Mane Choice The Alpha) purple edge control
The once a month for me is a no I wash my hair at least once a week

Wash your hair!!!
BUY A SHOWER FILTER HARD WATER RAVAGES YOUR HAIR WITH ALL THE IMPURITIES IN THE WATER. THE JOLI SHOWER FILTER SAVED MY HAIR. WORTH EVERY PENNY.😅
Oh yea please no henna !!! It is a killer
Color spray works well. Just wash it out.
