IS there any data of how many ms the delay will be with LE and Auracast? If the delay time is small, this could be a real game changer for replacing the old hearing loops.
@@dunichtich100 venue adoption. For the phone manufacturers it’s a “one and done” implementation. For venue adoption, it’s one venue at a time as budget allows and demand dictates. I would expect at least a decade to pass before we see truly widespread, significant venue adoption.
@@dondgc2298 Auracast is so much more than just a convenience feature for hearing impared people in certain venues. Imagine headphone parties anywhere anytime with your friends or complete strangers - stream to endless peoples headphones straight from your smartphone, laptop or an Auracast Dongle. What is missing is the feature in iOS and Android to scan for Auracast streams nearby and connect headphones to them as well as the support of the required audio codec LC3 in these smartphone operating systems.
@@dunichtich100 I don’t understand the appeal of that use case - it certainly doesn’t appeal to me. But to each his own. But to be able to go into a church, or a theater and get audio piped directly to my hearing aids - that’s a huge plus for me. Or walking through an airport and having announcements go directly into my hearing aids? I would love that. But it will be a decade or more before that kind of thing is widely available. It would be nice if TV manufacturers started including it so we could get tv audio piped directly to our aids while regular audio went out through the speakers- and without buying a dongle. That could be available sooner than my other examples.
Great new Connectivity standard. Is that a reason now to select a HA, which has it over one that doesn't however? It is hardly available anywhere and for years to come at that, so which is more important, (normal) hearing quality or future connectivity if one can have one and not the other? The future looks good though, very promising.
While still relatively rare in the wild, Auracast transmitters are available from multiple manufacturers, and Bluetooth and Google will both soon help people find local transmitters through the Auracast "Find a Location" page and Google Maps, respectively. Question: Does the LE Audio differentiate from different sources and if so, how? Imagine you're in a pub that has several televisions on playing different sports on them. They may have the sound on all of the televisions on. If I turn on my LE Audio to listen to one game, how does the LE Audio "know" which game I want to listen to on my hearing aids?
Great question! The best way to think of it is like connecting to a wifi network. You look at the list of options and connect to the one you want. So hopefully the bar has sensible streaming channel names like TV1 and TV2 that correspond to labels on the physical TVs or maybe "Behind the bar - Left TV" etc
You'd be surprised Matthew but guess what? I actually have access to le audio it's not bad but a bit too unstable it'll sort of go like this I wear my hearing aids put my phone in my pocket then turn my head and it just cuts out and only plays my music through only one of my hearing aids I mean it's not perfect but I'm sure like a fine wine it'll be better with time

We still need the main operating systems iOS and Android to implement it propperly into their operating systems. We deserve Auracast!
Google and Apple are the smallest of obstacles when it comes to implementation
