      The opening premise in the first 5 or 10 minutes is absolutely outrageous and completely implausible. A top race car driver in the lead crashes, is supposedly dead and resurrected, is giving interviews the very next day about having hallucinations while driving which he reported on the day of the crash.
      You’re telling me he’s not going to be forcibly arrested, hospitalized, and undergoing drug tests while being investigated by multiple groups and agencies? No, that’s exactly what is going to be preoccupying his time for weeks, months, or even years. Even so, the mere premise of a driver crashing due to hallucinations is not going to make for a plausible long term activity. That would be like Spock having Pon Farr every episode instead of every 7 years. After the pilot, they yanked Tom Kovack’s license to drive, since this series was already a wreck. 🤔 👍

    great! Shame it was not made into a series. I can't get over the Brits' indoor and outdoor photography - so realistic and natural. So also the actors -so natural and flowing. And no 'vulgarity' like getting intimate within a day or two; mutual respect, and attraction developing into courtship in a subtle way....Thank you director, for not shoving everything all at once on us audience!

  • @glenncox9128
    @glenncox9128 2 месяца назад +20

    “Baffled! is a 1973 British made-for-television supernatural mystery film directed by Philip Leacock. The story is part of the occult detective subgenre and starred Leonard Nimoy, Susan Hampshire, and Vera Miles.
    Baffled! was intended as a pilot for a television series but when no network showed interest it was released in British theatres and later released as a television film in America on NBC. The British version runs ten minutes longer than the American.
    Televised premiere on Tuesday, January 30, 1973, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm on NBC (competing against shows such as: Maude -
    Maude and the Medical Profession, Temperatures Rising - Interrupted Malady, Hawaii Five-0 - The Odd Lot Caper, & ABC Movie of the Week - Birds of Prey).”
    Sources - Wikipedia, IMDB, TV Tango.
    I can see why this was never made into a series. Who needs a race car driver crashing because of hallucinations? Who gave Kovack a license to drive?
    Probably inspired by The Sixth Sense with Gary Collins, and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) with Mike Pratt & Kenneth Cope. Paranormal psychic stuff was a HUGE fad in the early 1970s.

    ...but gone are the lines that it once attracted.
    sadly, many guest on coast to coast and other similar shows

    Nice to see Ray Brooks in this, a fellow Professional Actor I had the pleasure of working with on a BBC production back in 1992, and spent time with socially two weeks later while on holiday in North Wales, always a pleasure watching Ray's work, so it was great to see this, such a shame no TV Company picked this one up to commission a Series. and the potential for having different supporting Casts, and guest stars in each episode, would have been a big plus. a sad lost opportunity for sure.

      In Canada we had Seeing Things with Louis Del Grande starring. Very popular, similar premise, 1981-1987.

    That is so ITC Lew Grade that... Get a famous US A listing TV actor across the pond and make something in British Studios filmed across Europe...Then you can sell it to the US Networks Canada and Australia/NZ & Subtitle/Dub it for Europe.. Now where have we seen that before ? Mind you,,, the premise of Spook meets Scooby Doo is with a quipped eyebrow literally quite "Fascinating!!"
