I’m 75. These actors are all from my younger years!! I’ve probably seen all their movies! I love Peter Lordy. Humphrey Bogart! I’ve seen this movie several times over the years and it’s still great!!
@@lawrence8374 My guess is John. I can't believe he worked with Capote to begin with. Horrible, twisted little maggot that he was, I remember To Kill A Mockingbird showing him as Dill. Harper Lee grew up with him, and when she won a Pulitzer, he never stopped raging about how he should have had one for his In Cold Blood. Anything for attention kind of creep.
I have watched this Movie over 300 times in my life and know many esoteric secrets hidden in the film. I am always on the hunt for more. Thank you for restoring it and for providing it here!!! 👍👍👍
Some films you can watch over and over, and always be entertained. Great cast and a thoroughly enjoyable romp!

The opening speech from Jennifer Jones was a puzzle to me back in 1958 when I first saw this film on television. The sentiments heard afresh and at a time I'm 75 have much more meaning. We make criminals and dangerous fools exalted to rule over us while we work and die putting gold in their pockets and handing over our sons and daughters to their evil ways.
Didn't care for the movie at first, but it got better and better later in the film. To me, Robert Morley stole the show, great bit of casting. Overall, a very good entertaining movie. A solid three out of four stars.

Jennifer Jones has the ULTIMATE lisp and self assured carriage. We must preserve every frame of her!
NEATO movie - never seen in before in all my 65-years - well worth a watch, HA - a friend of mine said ROBERT MORLEY used to stay with his grandparents sometimes when in AUSTRALIA - HA - he used to clean his plate and anything else that the other did not eat - HA. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA
yes i've watched this many times over the years. excellent actors and script but with poor quality print and very gravelly sound. this is the best i've seen! thanks!
At the end he says "Hoosegow " term originated in the American West as " WhosCow " This was the place that those arrested for Cattle Rustling were placed ( a jail cell ) . It was called a " WhosCow" till they could determine whos cattle they had stolen at the time . Just Love Bogies final Laugh and Remark " The End "
Rights were now owned by Sony Pictures Television/TeleVentures during the 1985-1986 season, when it was first aired on Viacom's Nickelodeon Network on Friday, August 9, 1985 with very impressive ratings.
I caught the back end of this once as it was on telly one weekday afternoon and I was about to leave for my late shift that day. It's the bit where "M" oops, I mean Bernard Lee rocks up to ask questions, not having a scooby what was going on, but noticing the stellar cast I made a mental note to make sure I watch it one day, because it was bound to be on again at some point. Thirty years later my promise to myself is fulfilled. If those little known space heaters that "the appliance industry will surely imminently ban" are still being mid roll blipverted by the time you read this, trust me, they are shit. Don't buy them. And I looked up the price of those train fares for those 'take you back to nature carefree days' - sod that! Fly Ryanair to Ravello on the Amalfi coast (where the Italian scenes of this movie were filmed). For what the train fare costs you could do ten trips and walk in the ghosts of Bogeys footprints. Or Gina Lollabrigida's (I forgot how incandescently beautiful she was❤❤❤❤)
I can't imagine Walter Huston collaborating with Truman Capote for the screenplay, but they made a pretty good movie. The emphasis on Bogart is minimal compared to his other starring roles, as there are several other actors sharing the credit. Both Bogie & Lorre were showing signs of aging and bad health, but both gave their usual fine performances. Enjoy!
Gina Lollobrigida - absolutely gorgeous in this movie. She was only 25 during filming, yet had such poise and presence. I continue to be distracted by her intense beauty and sexual allure whenever I see her movies.
4:20 😂😂😂😂 "... not one of them looked at my legs!" 12:46 🎉🎉🎉 is Peter Lorre wearing an odd vest or sweater? It looks double-breasted (earlier), but no collar... 1:28:34 vest it is. Better view in this shot. 33:30 😮😮😮 this is a perfect trumPFascist speech! Wow... 😮😂
💝💝💝 I am not 75 but I still love them as much!!!!! Such style and grace!!! 😍😍😍

You're 75 ? And still can't spell Peter Lorre?
I don't believe you for an instant.
Sir this is a great movie! 74 here and enjoy trying to figure out who wrote what dialogue Truman or John.

Enjoyed that. Grew up with my grandparents in the '60's. This brings me back to their mannerisms and speech.

I must look into it. I have also had an identical experience with Hogan's Heroes.
I've never seen this film before it's great. What a casting. Thanks for sharing this great film 🎬🇫🇮

I enjoyed this film. Great cast and fun to watch.
Just noticed John Huston and Truman Capote wrote the screenplay. That explains the marvelous dialogue.

Outstanding plot …!…and very intelligent and logical dialogue…🎩🌎☮️ peace ✌️ and 007 M is Scotland Yard ..unreal ❤
Man this a great movie. I can read the scams. Humphrey was the man.
That purser is one cool sailor.

Theatre actors ✨✨✨✨
Love this
An entertaining Hollywood "factory" movie. Many regulars, including Bogart and... as they said in her Flintstones cameo: Gina Loadabricks!
Hermoso film que me ha retrotraido en el tiempo. ❤

Oh aye, gallonder through the ages daddy'o ☝
👍👍👍 👍👍👍
It is a Bogart picture I have never even heard of. If you think it is banal, tell me why you think so. I think the humor in it is subtle.
This was filmed in Ravello / Amalfi 💚🤍❤and Bogart was involved in a bad car accident during the filming of this
all star cast, a screwball madcap comedy played to the hilt! excellent clean copy.

From 'Central Texas' as well. :)
Ever heard of a “perfect” movie?
I can think of several that are as close as can be, but this is not one of them.
They spell here name wrong on the film poster ! It should be LOLLOBRIGIDA !!!!
Cool movie

It's, uhhh, not your typical John Huston film.

I've got a headache.
Thumbnail is a joke.....
AI... Artificial Ignorance.
If this movie was any good, why did t they colorize it
Refuse to watch movies with commercials containing sexual content. Who's in agreement?
These are regular Internet commercials.
Point of fact, this movie is quite banal!
Opinion is not fact.
One man' meat Sir. November, 2024.
Hollywood Stars of Old!…..what an atrocious movie
