  • I got some new mods for the Pan America! Then I went for a ride through one of Austins best motorcycle roads, Lime Creek as I share my thoughts on the CVO Pan America from Harley.

    I think the CVO looks rad. You're absolutely right with parts and labor it almost costs as much as a CVO short 3k....I think they did everything right. If you want a hardcore ADV bike you need to get a KTM or GS....

    I already did almost every upgrade to my GI pan.I think the cvoo pan looks like a circus color.

    I thought too when I heard about the CVO that they were going to go more in the direction of off road!

    Harley have the 975cc Revmax engine in the Nightster. Good for lower displacement pot. lighter adv/tourer.

    Agree with your assessment of the CVO Pan America completely. Seems like the complete opposite direction they should've gone. Like instead of creating a Pan America Ultra Glide, they should've created a Pan America 883 Iron.

    • @cruisingwithkyle
      @cruisingwithkyle  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah a smaller bike just seems like the better move in my opinion.

    The CVO for me is like buying a prebuilt PC it is more expensive unlike building it your own but buys it at the store built with most accessory you usually need the minor caveat I wish they change the exhaust.

    • @cruisingwithkyle
      @cruisingwithkyle  4 месяца назад +1

      Haha it basically is like buying a prebuilt PC. Yeah I’m not sure why they didn’t upgrade the exhaust for the CVO.

    Great video. The Pan America CVO is a bit odd. Typically CVOs come with substantial upgrades to the engine, suspension, exhaust, paint and external add ons. Seems the Pan Am CVO is just paint and some external doodads.

      @cruisingwithkyle  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I’m not sure what they were going for. Maybe they started off simple for the first year of the CVO model to test the market with it.

      @@cruisingwithkyle so far nothing ride stopping for me.
      The dashboard went dead during a ride in December and I rode it home like a chopper. There was a software update Dec 11 I applied that says it fixed the temp sensor bug in the dash module.
      Occasional I will get electrical stalls or screen reboots when I first start riding but it goes away after the charging system runs for awhile. I think it's the cold battery temp and weak idle charge output on the 2021s plus ARH operations at stop and go traffic.

    Harley needs to build something like the KLR 650 under $10,000 low tech bike. Build it in India or china use the street 500 or 750 maybe even the 440? I ride a 2021 Road Glide limited year round in New England I’m looking for an inexpensive bike I can ride in the winter and take on gravel roads and trail occasionally the rest of the year. My fenders and frame are rusting, I want to stay Harley but they don’t offer anything I’ll be riding a Kawasaki.The Pan America is too high tech for a winter bike

    • @cruisingwithkyle
      @cruisingwithkyle  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I think Harley is missing the market on a lower priced entry level bike. I guess they consider themselves a “luxury” brand now but pushing people to the used market or other cheaper options is making them miss a significant portion of bike sales.

    • @kaabax9074
      @kaabax9074 3 месяца назад

      Exactly.. I’ll stick with my KLR until Harley can provide a cheaper option. Hopefully with a bigger front wheel too

  • @dhc8guru
    @dhc8guru 4 месяца назад +1

    Wow! $30k. I don’t think the GS 1300 719 trim is $30k.
    Hard pass. Let’s be honest, the PA is no GS 1300. A loaded Triumph Tiger 900 is around $17k and it’s plenty of a touring ADV.
    HD is positioning themselves as a luxury brand so, they are going to start shedding the cheaper models.

    • @cruisingwithkyle
      @cruisingwithkyle  3 месяца назад

      Agreed. I think Harley is missing the market for new riders. The entry level Harley is a used Harley which is unfortunate.

    CVO aka Rip you off …

    • @717ThrottleTherapy
      @717ThrottleTherapy 4 месяца назад +2

      Not if you do the math.
      It’s pretty basic. If you add up what they put on the Pan America CVO, you’re in line with what you’ll have in a special with the same parts. And you’re still less than the BMW GS and the Ducati Multistrada V4 with the same options.
      I priced them all before I bought my Pan America.
      The GS would’ve cost me 1800$ more and the Ducati would’ve been around 3k more.
      I was pricing them with all the options I wanted on them.
      I also priced them with the parts they had at the dealer. So you can save a couple bucks if you buy aftermarket.

      CVO is definitely an abbreviation of rip you off
