Attention to Detail: Advanced Momentum Ballhandling

- Advanced momentum ball handlers (Stephen Curry, Tony Parker, Kemba Walker, etc.) are some of the most instinctive players. It takes experience and practice to play this way efficiently. But, if it's done, it's extremely effective. Check out how you can add this to your game!
All the attention to detail videos are so well made and detailed👍👍
They are mad interesting
Chancellor Lee no!
They really are. I wish I had these when I was a kid.
Chancellor Lee Keyword “detail”
Their podcast is a lot better
Who ever control this channel.. there basketball I.Q is on another level
Look closely. Pretty much everything they teach is just simple concepts
Don't want to be a grammar popo but it's "Their"
@HPM Royale DAMN! LMAO!
I love the channel, but nah these are just basics most beginners should already know. Reading the defender and reacting to their defense...to surveying the court looking out for help side defense...even to game play without the ball. The video is just a lil slice
To all the people that watch these vids to get better a word of advice: this one video can't be drilled, it's literally instincts, and it comes through the game after a while, like u can't just drill these dribble moves into u, cuz literally it's based on ur defender. I personally have started to dribble like this and I love it, but it's not something that u can just learn u gotta play for a while
Forget them your ability to read all these cues and break them down to meticulous detail is a skill in it of itself.
Love that you used clips of Utah DWill in this. A lot of people forget just how much a monster DWill was with the Jazz, him and CP3 were neck-to-neck in the PG hierarchy. It's also perfect timing because he just so happens to be playing well lately for the Cavs in the playoffs.
They were just talking about that today in the Cavs-Pacers game. Jazz/Nets Deron Williams used to have the dirtiest crossover.
T Challa Oh bro, I remember that! dude was shifty as hell. the injuries screwed him over though
In the beginning it said a lot of these are just instincts and I think that's the biggest thing here. Pure basic instincts, lots and lots of repetition. Practice makes perfect is the saying.
What is this sorcery...you guys have such great videos I'm so curious about your mission statements
LeBeautiful They’re originally from the DMV, but they go to college in Miami. They loved the b-ball culture up there, and now they wanna build something like that in Miami
Thank you so much I've noticed my dribbling getting so much better but struggle to read my defender and beat him this helped appreciate it
That's it. SUBSCRIBED! Best b-ball channel for me, none of that "greatest assist, greatest crossover etc etc list BS. Those guys don't even give a decent slow-mo clip, let alone the basis of their decisions. All those bunch are, if we're honest, just another variation of any fast paced, quick cut video edited to whatever soundtrack beats it employs that we've seen since the dawn of ESPN or SI tv shows. This channel stands, check that, TOWERS above those suckers.
The Best Tutorial Videos To Me Personally ...I ACTUALLY learned alot from your videos. Im barely a 9th grader and these videos helped me become better at the game of basketball. THANK YOU...SUBSCRIBED👍
I love this channel so much. U just make these videos in a very different way.
On a fast break you can literally run away from the defender. In the half-court speed changes can get a few feet of space. With the ball the quickness and footwork are important. Then there is influencing the defender with screens or motion offenses which push their momentum up, so they can't respond well to changes of direction. Then there are fakes like Iverson used or ball fakes or eye fakes to mislead the defender who is looking for any clue about the direction of things at speed. Every player on the court needs to do these, but ball handling things are more specialized unless it's the kind of overhead standing still and ready to pass sort of thing. Perhaps the most important is the most common stuff: not losing the dribble off your foot, not passing unless you're really in synch with the receiver, not letting double-teams overwhelm you, and such. That's a lot more of the game for most people than Iverson trickery.
AWESOME!!!!! youve been dishing out alot of videos lately
I feel like you should make a video on how viewers should apply your tips because when I watch your videos I feel enlightened but when I get on the court I still feel like I play roughly the same, maybe with some tweaks
Now all I'm waiting for is Defensive Ball Handling 👍🏻
Alessandro Peraza
How can you play defence when youre on offence
i wish i could love myself bro are you high or sum?
This seems like it would combo nicely with the tight ball handling style
These videos are better than Lavar ball!
Wait
Thats impossible.
Been waiting on this one. You make some great content my dude.
this is my type of ball handling. don't even gotta have a sick handle to make it work, just attack the weakness in their defensive stance
its the smartest one too, u dont need to be no steph curry or kyrie to read your opponents movement, just a little brains :D
DwyaneWadeFan 98 exactly! speed and handles r assets not necessities
James Bycinthe so u just attack the top foot? And go the opposite way they are leaning?
Heso Melo Jello most of the time yes. I only go the way they r leading me if the help seems weak where I can still finish easily or make an easy pass when the defender steps up. remember that the top foot is blocking off where he DOESNT want u to go...that's where u should go
M Ledger when u use advanced momentum its not likely that a person's athleticism will be a factor in stopping u from getting where u want to. its just mainly the finish u gotta worry about cuz they can recover for a block pretty well. use more fakes when u get to ya spot.
A simple 2 step cross is the key to this. Hesitation, hard crossover, one dribble, quick crossover with the off hand downhill and to the other side.
I know this might not be your style, but can you do a video on shooting? Like the proper shooting mechanics that make good shooters, good shooters.
Here's my problem, I shoot everyday i play ball everyday at a recreational centre and at a fitness gym everyday to practice. This might sound weird but I feel like i have a better rhythm in game with my shot e.g my shot feels more consistent in games then it does when i'm shooting around. For you this may not sound like a bad thing but the problem is with that i am extremely inconsistent. One day i'll hit 11 threes in a game next day i'll go like 0 for 15 and in practice i'm shooting around 50 percent. One shot will be nothing but net and the next shot would be a horrible air ball and I know when i shot a bad shot i just don't know how to fix it
nothing wrong wit ur mechanics if u making 11 3's just dont over think and have short term memory thats all broski
Kai Mayes that would be tough cause not everyone's shooting mechanics are really the same curry just flicks his damn wrist, some shoot with their whole body. just find what works 4 u
players with bad streaks can also hav great mechanics. its most important to find a comfortable shot and have ur own rhythm then tweak it a little for the proper "mechanics". But as long as its comfortable shoot enough till it goes in
Same thing happens to me all the time.
i Love your content so much! keep making these videos. i learn so much about the game
Can you make an update for the derfense (there's not post defense) pls?
That beat though🔥
Thanks for adding the defending part.
you have so much attention to detail in the attention to detail vudeos
Kemba Walker and John Wall are the best examples of this
Now I'm certain that I'm mainly a Tight Advanced Momentum Ball Handler, it's nice to be so much sure about it, even when there are a lot of styles that uses almost the same attributes
Great video
thank you so much for resurrecting the ballhandling series again, look forward to you getting around to the rest of the dribbling styles (eventually, heh)
Could you make a video about smart plays?
Please make a video just about defensive position
where do you find the instrumentals?
Excellent video.
Can you do a attention to detail present drose?like his awesome floaters and reverse layups?
Can you show the same moves but defended well then the counter (if it is one). Just to see how they adjusted and still got the move/ shot off.
are u still making the defensive ball handling vid?
What are some drill to improve lateral movement and deceleration because I’m ok but need to get better
Can you do more defending videos I love working on my defense
Do a video on basketball strength and what it means to be strong
Please make video on loose ballhandlers
What do you use to edit
Thanks for the video it'll help my game.
been waiting for this 😁 thankyouu
Can you make a video about how to deal with this when you are on defense
Is paul pierce an advanced momentum ball handler?
Please make an attention to detail on jayson Tatum from duke
Hey can you make an deron Williams ball handling / attention to detail plz he was super filthy back in the day. (He's my fave and I peeped you put some of his highlights in here so ik you watch them)
which type of ball handler is more difficult to guard?
it’s 2 years late I know but I don’t understand how this is something that needs to be picked up. Doesn’t everyone do this? is there another dribbling style where you don’t read the defenders body position?
keep doin what u doin very helpful
I thought was about changing directions when you going fast. How to plant your foot when to do it, is it safe do it all the time bla bla. But still a great informative vid
Although he's not in the NBA yet Trevon duval is a beast at this !
How can I practice this
anybody know the beat being played
can you do one on kyle lowry
hai AMB please doing an attention to detail : lavar ball pleaseee that would be DOPE
add my ig guys @abduhrh
I don't get what y'all mean when you say to do a video on him? 😂
By Any Means Basketball like "Attention to Detail: Lavar Ball"
troooolls
Please answer this when you're not too busy. What type of ball handler is john Stockton, Russell westbrook, tony parker, rondo and john wall? @byanymeansbasketball
munir muhammad Stockton and Rondo are Defensive Ballhandlers. Parker and Wall are Advanced Momentum
Westbrook is a “Deliberate Ballhandler”
holy shit your videos help me a lot
More please
What players should I watch who dribble like this
i suggest stephen curry
have you done james harden ?
Excellent.
wait so with the top foot, people try to force you left but really it's just an easier way to go right?
but you gotta read it correct, if he's giving you too much room to the left, then you can fake right(with a jab for example) then go left(very tightly, so he can't recover).
swagger1930 if one plays close enough at the proper angle, the top foot is much, much harder to attack. wait till there is some breathing room before u attack that foot
So their is more to ball handling then just doing moves
Wouldn’t that make almost every player advance momentum handlers. Especially since they change direction on down hill or change of speed move if the defender move to cut them off.
This video was made with a lot of attention and detail. Chef Curry with the handles.
These are awesome
Attention to Detail: Deron Williams
thx for uploading
DO A VIDEO ON STEPHS GAME
Straight fire
thank you
weird question a basketball video, but we all aficionados of many fields..does anyone know of a boxing channel that breaks shit down like this one does?
Amazing
Still waiting on loose ball handlers
people are saying curry is overrated but he keep winning. these kind of movement are what made him a champion. not some flashy ass stufs
Yes! Less go
wooo another one
All Time assist leader and holds NBA record for steals
You can basically combine this with deceptive ball handling
attention to detail David Thompson
It would be useful for agressive people
Can someone help me
Players don't have time to read their defender they just detect any open path the defender left open due to bad positioning and take the path. If you read you will be too slow to react.
4:02 one of many reasons the Judas defected
I like how u reused your content, like the tony parker one😂😂
He did it in a good way so I don't really care.
Where's loose ball handling
Attention To Detail: Demarcus Cousins. PLEASEEEEE
About to break some ankles 😈
Hi
IMO, James Harden is the best player when it comes to using defenders momentum against themselves.
He is so lazy and so frickin smart
check out TR elite basketball 🔥🔥🔥workouts
Tyler Rogers 🔥🔥🔥
I subbed 💯
TR Elite Basketball Your videos really are improving! When you are at 50k subs, I'll remember that I'm the one that was here since 500
Atlas aye thanks man! I'm getting better and better at editing also spending more time on the channel!
TR Elite Basketball No problem. Keep up the good work!
Attention to Detail: John Stockton
Attention To Detail: bradley beal. PLEASEEEEE
Before watching I'm hoping CJ and Dame on this 🤔🤔🤔
Scottie Pippen!
d iangelo Russell
👍
"The defenders should not shift their weight too much" That's what I do. Lazy.
I think you're giving them WAAAAAY too much credit. I would rather argue they have a bag of tricks that they use until the defender bites hard enough on one of them. Otherwise, how do you explain pointless over dribble in everyone of the top ball handlers(who also attacks off the dribble).
