- This video is my most ambitious yet, one where I tell you how Dragon's Dogma changed my life for the better. I played this beauty since the year of it's release. I spend my days waiting in anticipation for Dragon's Dogma 2 and I can't tell you how excited I am for it to finally come out. I made this video in preparation for it's release to pay homage to Capcom for releasing this wonderful game. I love watching creators such as Infinite Cringe, The Rift, Nihili0.0, and many others because of how much passion I have for this game. I hope you enjoy! if you liked it consider liking and subscribing :)
Truly "They're masterworks, all. You can't go wrong"
Seems like Capcom took the joke and ran with it. They named the OST "The Masterworks Collection".
*PTSD Eye twitch*
Indeed
Ppl forget how hard the OG song for Dragons dogma goes
Never forget.❤
THE WIND IS PUSHING MEEEEEEE!!!
God I miss that music.
Will never forget.
The amen break go's hard
Dogma was SOOO underrated when it arrived. But now? People already know it's greatness! And here comes the sequel!
I tried to like it myself but map traversal was a big pain and some early dungeons were bad. I remember spending like 15 minutes just walking to the castle in the north.
@@MrDrManPerson I always play it modded, there's like an essential pack that removes weight load and stamina consumption while sprinting, makes it a pretty smooth experience.
in retrsopect during launch it has flaws for its quality of life thats hinders UX mostly in open world traversal, which are fix by future patches.
It was a great game when it came out I'm my opinion. The reviews were trash again I'm my opinion . That's why we have our own and play games that we like and think are good . Oh and have fun. Great review btw
@@MrDrManPerson It's hard to get into the mindset of playing this game. When this game says "traversal," they meant literally traversing the map by foot. It's really fun once you get the hang of it. Embarking to Bluemoon Tower (far from Gran Soren) gives you a sense of adventure. Teleportation takes away those experiences.
I keep thinking I've changed. I used to play a game for 12 hours straight and now I have to force myself to play any new game. maybe my brain is different, maybe I'm depressed, maybe I'm desensitized.
Then I bought this game last week and played it after a decade(I played the normal release and then Dark Arisen release back when it came out) and I found myself playing it for 12 hours straight and still didn't want to stop!!!! So my revelation is that they don't make games like they used to! I experienced the same thing with Skyrim last month(after playing it for the ninth time over the years!)
It's not nostalgia or anything, cuz this game and Skyrim frustrate me to no end because of bugs and general jankiness, but the core of these games is so enjoyable that I don't even care.
That’s awesome man! Yeah gaming can have a deep drought for months maybe even years at a time, this game is my yearly ritual anytime I can’t find anything to play
I was talking to my wife about this today, been playing for about a day but it stirred gaming emotions in me that haven’t been touched since in was 13 playing Skyrim for the first time. I realized that games then were made to be good, where as most games now are just cash grabs. The fact that I’m enjoying a game that came out in 2012, more than other single player games that are out now in 2023. Says a lot. Glad you found that passion for gaming again
As you grow old it's common to not get hooked by games anymore because you've seen it all before. It's pretty much like the first time you fall in love. It never happens again quite at the same intensity.
And yet, there will always be the Dragon dogmas, Baldur's Gates and Zeldas out there that will remind you of what games can be.
So no, you are not depressed lol
@@iluvatarchem Yup, Right now Starfield has consumed my entire life and I don't see myself getting tired of it anytime soon! I've played over 70 hours in 2 weeks just messing around in the world and pushing my luck in the game, I've barely done 20 quests!
I love it when a game lets you push your luck in a very difficult situation without stoping you, I was level 25 the other day and attacked a level 65 ranger ship and by a miracle, I managed to capture it and now I have an end game ship! I love it when in a game your risks have a proper payback.
I've been playing games all my life how did I not find this game until now in 2023 damn it's a good game
Funny you say that, my next video will explain just that. You should subscribe :)
That "FLYING INTO FREE" moment was almost like a spiritul experience back in the day!
Say whatever you want about the improvements and QoL shit in Dark Arisen, but every OG Arisen will tell you that losing that opening theme song was heart breaking!
Exactly what I’m saying we were robbed 😔
Nah. We weren't robbed at all. The intro to DA is just as memorable as FLYING INTO FREE is, and introducing the old OP to new players is just the icing on the cake.
Frankly, I prefer the DA intro, but the OG one will always have a place in my heart, because THE WIND IS FUCKING PUSHING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
omg true
@@_Jay_Maker_it is not as memorable
That snake head mission is bad but it's at least full of enemies and encounters.
The true bane was doing NPC escort quests back when we had almost no fast travel.
For newer players:
Before you do the griffin quest, do all the side quests in Gran Soren. It will be worth it.
Man, i miss the griffin quest, now everytime i do this mission my brain just goes "I challenge u to kill it with only one arrow" or "I challenge u to kill it in 10 seconds" So now i cant be bothered to go to the blue moon tower anymore
true, side quest of gran soren is a great learning tool to get around the aspects of combat
I like that escort quests are terrible for the ill prepared. Go the wrong way and walk into a chimera battle and the npc is toast. I restarted a playthrough to lay down port crystals near escort destinations.
9:01 I perfectly know I’m a little off-curve here, but I genuinely liked the caravan mission towards Gran Soren. The realism on that slow track through so many different scenarios, facing different enemies in the way, made me feel like the real thing, like I was totally immerse in a Lord of the Rings book. Damn, the night falling off while we got near the capital and even zombies starting to pop from the earth at Gran Soren’s doors. It simply was the most incredible experience of a journey. The only setback was backtracking so much between Cassardis and the capital before getting the first port crystal (at that time, there was no eternal ferrystone), but even today sometimes I miss that limitation, for some strange masochistic way.
That’s so beautiful that I almost don’t hate the quest anymore… :’)
Definitely helped show the real pace of the game. It's not all high octane unless you're doing the Everfall or BBI. Lots of trekking to get to know the lay of the land.
Hope you guys enjoyed! Worked really hard on the video for ya :)
Dragon's Dogma blew my mind, I never thought they'd do a sequel, but I'm SO, SO happy they are!
11 years we’ve waited :’)
Nice video yeah dragon's dogma is absolutely amazing i was introduced through some memes videos and when i saw that combat i had to get my hands of this video game my favorite vocation is warrior fighter behind em i can't wait for tge sequel
Well done video! Just started playing again for probably the 20th time now on pc. Still hold up and is soo much fun!
You just described what i felt the first time i played this, and it made me re-live the olden younger days. You gained a sup my man, i hope you grow bigger with each passing day. and as we all say "Master works, all. You can't go wrong."
Dragon's Dogma isn't my favorite game (though it's very close), but it holds a very special place in my heart. I tried to get into it so many times, playing 10 to 20 minutes each session and then giving up because I kept getting my ass kicked, until I at some point it just... clicked. I think it was when I got ambushed by a chimera in the wild, just after getting my ass handed to me by some bandits and saurians. Normally, my little wussy self would run, but I was frustrated after getting recked one too many times and I told myself, "You know what? No more running. I'm beating this mofo if it's the last things I do, no matter what it takes."
I ended up using all my curatives, but when that cat fell, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and victory. I can't wait for Dragon's Dogma 2.
Everytime I would go back home to Cassardis after spending my days adventuring around Grand Soren and that beautiful song comes on will always leave an amazing and loving imprint in my life. This will forever go down as one of the greatest journey's one will ever undertake.
Cassardis, a home that will live in our hearts forever. Dragons Dogma II is going to be incredible.
Absolute gangster explanation! Love the content on Dragons Dogma. My favorite game.
Great video. Dragon's Dogma was always a dark horse when it came to rpgs back in the day. I'm glad it's finally getting the love and attention it deserves.
The bison is the only reason we ain't getting that sub 10 Speedrun ffs , but the rest of the game is so freaking goated. I'm so in awe of how amazing it is and just recently i played it again and i had the best time ever
The only thing this game is missing is a traversal animal: horse or whatever.
I just finished my first playthrough and bbi. This game is truly special. The combat is just so dynamic, flashy and cool across all vocations. This game is amazing.
Great vid bro love your style, I loved this game alot. Haven't played it since the ps3 era haha. Great game and looking forward to the second one
Great video. Really enjoyed it. I tried to get into the game a few times but never persevered.
Subscribed because you're a man of culture. Nobody started talking about this game until 2 was teased. Ive been telling everyone i know in any game related convo that its one of the greatest titles in gaming history
The Griffin Hunt was deffinitely a highlight for many people I believe. And there's quite a few ways to go around that quest. First of all, if you deal too much damage you can actually kill it during the first encounter, when you lure it on the open field. When you fight it normally in the Tower there's 3 things that can happen:
- If you don't complete the Salomet's Grimoire quest, which envolves you obtaining said grimoire and giving it to a researcher, you fight the Griffin with just your pawns and fellow soldiers.
- If you complete that side quest, the researcher actually shows up during the fight and uses the grimoire you gave him to cast fire spells and help you ground the Griffin.
- However, if you make a forgery of the grimoire and give the fake to the researcher, he'll still show up and try to use spells, but it'll fail and he'll just say like "Oh, guess the book is too old". Then YOU can actually use the original grimoire to summon meteors.
This game is freaking amazing.
I gave my copy of DD to my younger brother when he was 12 as well, dude became obsessed with this game, and it became a running gag that he would ask me when DD2 will come out like every season, until I sent him the announcement video from Itsuno and the dude, then 18, fell out of his chair screaming "FCK YEAH!".
W brother
This was great man, you gotta make one for the sequel!!😆
I am a huge dogma fan I have played it so many times. Great video glad you shared your experience
❤️❤️❤️
Game still felt good in 2022 when I played it last year…. So fucking pumped for DD2. Great video man!
sweet video, yeah DD hit different and still does. hopes DD2 will be amazing as well.
You said it all bro. Can't wait for the sequel.
This game is one of the best. So unique, so full of love. A shame modern industry doesn't make such games often. At least we will finally get a sequel.
Though I'm afraid the sequel trailer looks too close to what the 1st game was. I hope it won't feel as a Capcom remake, but will have something new.
They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong!
Great video mate, just subscribed. I'm a fellow enjoyer of berserk, hope your channel keeps growing!
I love dragon’s dogma. I can’t wait for the sequel
I played this game so much. I was today years old when I learned you can kick the fucking cow to make it run faster.
I just found out three days ago that all you gotta do to avoid the gamers gaze is look away
this has been a really good watch, can you believe it? I've been playing this game since it came out, then with the DLC, then on PC again moving my xbox 360 save before my console died with an USB stick and a program on the PC side so I could continue playing it with the same character because of the ending of the game that slightly changes based on the character that completed the game last, I have completed the cycle so many times to this day, we are waiting for the sequel and I cant wait to do it all over again.
WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS
DD is the best RPG of all time, great video! I personally never minded the hydra head escort, but then I always get sunk into the roleplay and just admiring the gameworld. I came to appreciate the slow pace of just walking somewhere in that game.
The bombastic action is where I thrive in the game :) over the years I’ve grown to like the carriage mission more and more lol
3:23 this made me laugh so hard I started coughing my man you just earned yourself a sub
LESSS FUGGEN GOOOOO 🔥🔥🔥
Great video for a very good game, good job brother.
Man I love how enthusiastic you sound when expressing your opinion of the game.
❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video just picked it up for 5 bucks. Thanks for getting me hyped to play it
Hope you enjoy it! It’s amazing I promise
Great video LoL you're not alone this is also my fav game of all time...Magick Archer is the best class IMO...I just hope in DD2 they have secondary weapons like the Ranger having his daggers...I played DD online and didn't like how each class had only 1 weapon but no matter what I'm buying DD2 for sure.
Yeah I see a lot of people are worried about it, hopefully they don’t make that drastic of a change. If they do I hope they compensate by adding a ton of skills to their main weapon
I played Dragon's Dogma for the first time when I got a Switch about two years ago, and it's now one of my favorite action RPG's of all time, there is nothing quite like it, and I'm super hyped for DD2. Everyone that's a fan of these type of games has to play the original at least once.
I so cant wait for DD 2, I was one of the guy that brought dragons dogmas as it came out as I was contently looking out for new JRPG back then.
Just got this game haven't played yet but fell in love as soon as I heard the music and the intro it kinda gave me dragon age vibe and now woth this video I'm definitely gonna play it, but I hope you do a video on oblivion as well because this one was awesome.
I’m genuinely considering it!
The depth of the character creation is literally the only instance I've seen in a video game where your appearance is not just for cosmetic purposes
I have been playing dragons dogma since it was released day 1 at my local walmart
Still havent gotten bored and i still find new quests, easter eggs, items, skill combos you name it.
The game has changed my life during probably the most depressing era of it, shit. My art changed after playing the game to be more fantasy oriented because i got so invested into the world design and character designs floruishing on the screen.
The best game ive ever played and if i have a child, they are gonna try it.
Now the second sequel is upon us, to say that i`m excited is an understatement!
Is this a brand new channel? This is some good content. Gratz on the 23k views. Cant wait to see where this channel goes.
I just got dragon dogma like two days ago and I’m having the same experience this game is so good and I don’t know how it went under my radar for so long the game is amazing and this video just made me love it even more
❤️❤️❤️
Fellow Mystic Knight, I've subscribed 👍
i'll love this game forever. i knew from the first note of that campy j-rock song that my life was changed
Awesome vid!
I agree so much with everything in this, thank you🤧 i'll sub to this channel
You dropped this 👑❤️
Ayyee thanks for the shout out, baby brat. I’m so fucking proud of you Troy!!
Your outro just got a subscription.
I'm probably the only one who loves the Off with his head" (hydra head deliver) mission. I enjoy all the long, slow travel, with my party and Mercedes's little brigade that are our new momentary companions; that city over there, the canyon ahead of us, i know that it will be a long, boring travel and night can come before we arrive at Gran Soren (who has played DDDA knows what i mean), so i just follow the group, slaying enemies at once, enjoying the panorama, talking to my party, sighing because the city is still far away and there's nothing you can do about it... it's a once-in-a-playthrough mission, unfair as life can be, and you don't have to rush it.
Dragons Dogma is a great game and was underrated upon release, now most people know how good this game is now and with the same battle system lead that done ff16 we can all agree he's one of the best to ever do it.
I keep looking for the ''k'' next to 176 subscribers and am getting very confused.
This was a phenomenal video.
Just bought the game on sale a few days ago and I've already sunk 30+ hours into the game
Well, it surely changed your youtube carrier. HAHAHA
I legit thought I was watching an established content creators work. Until I noticed the sub count. Great job man. Just keep improving the camera quality, and you got a really high production valued channel.
Just found it for 6 bucks on playstation stores cuz of you. Guess I'm gonna see for myself soon.
Bro I only saw the trailer from the sequel, I didn't even know this game existed but I've played Skyrim and loved it. Dragon's Dogma 2 is dream come through
In an endless ocean of medieval themed RPGs Dragons Dogma is one of the very few that stands out as truly unique and very creative. And I'm so glad they are staying true to the original formula and improving the weaker aspects. They could have gone the easy way and cut the pawn system and made it a regular multiplayer or co op system. They could have ditched the insanely flexible class structure with satisfying organic progression and instead gone with a more traditional skill point min/max system. But from all the DD2 footage I have seen and listening to what people have had to say after playing its very clear that the game is absolutely still DD new and improved. DD 2 is 100% my most anticipated game at the moment.
I was watching a channel called Outsidexbox and they mentioned this game. I saw some gameplay and immediately had to play it, it took me a minute to get used to the game but when I got the hang of it I couldn't put it down til the credits rolled. I've beat this game 10 times and am on playthrough 11
i really hope the sequel lives up to your expectations. ❤️
One of the best games I found back on PS3 back when, first a Demo then full game, returned to it on pc
Damn bro you really hearting every single comment here. Good video btw! I've yet to complete Dragon's Dogma.
Nice man, what vocation you play?
@@PeePeeMgee honestly i cant remember. it's been awhile since ive tried it. i have been ripping apart fromsoft games lately and modding em
You’ll find something you enjoy I’m sure of it, especially since you like from-software games
Ive been really enjoying al the hype for this game recently because of the sequel. Its definitely one of those not to be missed games. Even when the sequel arrives ill still go back
the only game that manage to make me feel scared of greek myth monsters
ahh i see, another man of high class taste.
good watch while i eat my lunch, can really tell ur passionate about it, based 💯💯
W friend ❤️
It still hold up today an is still a master piece. I have it on all platforms.8 accounts of dd on the switch with over 2k hours just on the switch not counting p4,ps5 Xbox series x
The fact that he was holding the disc like that hurts my soul
Dragon's dogma is in my top 3 best rpg's ever, I have completed it more than once to the point I had to take a break just so I didn't sicken myself with it and while I have never once pre-ordered a game in my life, Dragon's Dogma 2 is going to break that rule.
Skyrim, Dragon's Dogma, and Kingdoms of Amalur are my go to fantasy RPGs. Running through BBI right now trying to see which class kills Damion the fastest. Archers with explosive arrows are ridiculous so far.
You should try the Dark Arisen Expansion as well brother, it`s really worth it... Oops nevermind, you already covered it later in the vid : ). Glad you are a mystic knight as well ...
Dolphin smooth eh?🤣 That's pretty smooth man!
Skeletons: ITS HUMAN BONES THAT MOVE ON THEIR OWN!
I remember seeing the first trailer for DD at e3, and that fricken B'z Flying into Free blaring. Knew I had to get it day 1.
Have played and bought the game about 3 times now; and will probably do the same for DD2 lol
I'm actually replaying it
I loved this game so much, I bought it thrice: the original and Dark Arisen versions on 360, then the XB1 version, a few months ago.
Would you believe I've loved this game so much I've replayed it just to re-learn the gameplay over a dozen times, but the only time I've ever beaten it wasn't even on my game? 😂
Farthest I've gotten was lvl 130, just after the W(ee)rm Hunts, and a bit of BBI delving, then I helped my father beat it and it took 6 years to pick it back up. 😅
However, it's still just as amazing as it was the very first time I played it.
I'm kinda sad I can't be the Black Swordsman, anymore, though, but what can you do?
Angry Joe's review introduced me too!
Man I remember walking to GameStop and just looking at Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen and thought "that looks like something I'd be into" was not wrong. I also got Asura's Wrath too both of them good games
That intro really is a banger
Thx man I’m glad you liked it :)
Capcom always developing beautiful games
i love the ox escort mission
I respect your opinion my friend
I skipped this long ago. I got it for the switch, and man, I can't believe I never gave this masterpiece a chance.
very cool and epic troy
DD2 will consume my life on launch
Same
Honestly I'm mega hyped for dragons dogma 2 as well, only thing I hated about the 1st game was how linear the map is, its pretty much just straight paths except for like 2 or 3 areas. With them already confirming 2 is 4 times as big I'm hoping I can actually wander around without finding a location I can't fully explore cause it's tied to a quest
I literally just started my first playthrough ever of Dragon's Dogma. And can't believe I slept on this game for so long.
THE WIND IS PUSHING ME
Dude this game wears Berserk on its sleeve so much that I'm literally playing as a post-Eclipse Casca if she didn't spend the last 30 years as a potato and made my main pawn the Struggler himself.
I’ll subscribe, I love videos like this:) do you ever find yourself getting lost in the game though? The map can be a little hard to navigate
Thank you so much man :’) and oh lemme tell you man I get lost in the sauce all the damn time man. There’s so many varying paths and it can be so daunting, ESPECIALLY in bitterblack isle. 11 years later I still have trouble navigating it from time to time, it adds more to the charm of the game for me though!
@@PeePeeMgee true that, I was playing last night. Can’t wait for this sequel
What are your thoughts on the Dragon's Dogma Online (Community Maintained F2P) version, covered in detail by the RUclips channel The Rift?
I've thought about giving it a try, but I'm not sure if it lives up to the name of Dragon's Dogma 2. But that 8 player co-op action is looking quite enticing!
Dragons dogma online has always been a dream! I really wish capcom never scrapped the project, it also introduced so many new animations and vocations as well. The alchemist looked incredible, it was like you could become the full metal alchemist Edward Elric! Which was so bad ass. I hope they bring back many of the dragons dogma online qualities over to the sequel, and maybe just maybe create a coop experience for us all, because a dragons dogma game would do nothing but benefit from it! I genuinely might try out the community version of the game I might as well
Dergens Dergma oh yeah!
Lesss goooo!!!
I swear to god if I see another Cart pushing mission in 2 I’ma throw a fit.
I really did love this game so much lol.
Heck I won't even play Dark Arisen without replacing the intro song back to "Into Free".
Just played DD Dark Arisen recently and damn the combat really is as future-proof as it gets. Even though my fav western RPG is still Skyrim because I played it over 1k hours, DD is really near the top and who knows DD2 might be my new top 1 if they really work on the main and side quests
