In this lecture, 04 and 05 combined, he discusses the relationship between the initiatory structure characteristic of shamanism and the process of radical personality transformation, self- or therapy-induced. The basic structure is order/paradise, chaos/the fall, re-establishment of order/paradise. Since all paradises fall, however, the true paradise is identification with the process of transformation itself.

Nobody is incapable of cruelty. Try to remember all those people who respond to tragic events by saying how glad they are they "dont understand why.....". Now realize EVERY ONE of them fully understands what circumstances would cause them to act that way, they just want credit for being so sane they cant understand what negative motivations are. Everybody has some line that if you cross it will end with you strung up and disemboweled.

On my job interview today a narcissist employer bullied me the moment in walked in the conference room and although I wanted to get angry or shrink and cry - I took a different approach I kept laughing and the employer was lost - the interview ended very promptly - I got an email from the company when I got home saying I did not fit into the company culture - And I laughed again to myself - well yeah, that would a correct evaluation. I ignored the email and deleted it. Next.

I don't think he is saying to embrace it; it sounds to me like he is saying that one needs to acknowledge that it exists and be aware of it, which leads to a kind of respect and eliminates a certain naivite.

    • @iamnot8931
      @iamnot8931 6 лет назад +5

I looked up the video you mentioned and I still don't get the impression he is saying to embrace it, but to be aware of it and realize that you are capable of it so that you are not a "harmless rabbit" as he has said in other lectures. To embrace it, to me, means to adopt or give oneself over to and actively practice psychopathy or the dark self, which I think is a gross (and probably dangerous) distortion of what Peterson is saying. Maybe it's just a matter of semantics and you would define embracing it differently.

    • @blossom9486

No. There is reasoned and reasonable response. Cruelty isn't always reasonable some are over abstractionist and deconstructionalist. Being nonresponsive has risk but we have methods of responding or handling many situations. But sometimes people need jail, combat happens to stop problem people ruining the world or committing crimes, etc. I don't like violence but as an officer I learned to defend myself and the world. However we all get old and then people that don't grasp things if they are attacking them risk more than they think. Knowedge and experience or sometimes other things. Things they didn't know were going on.
Imagine they are gone and the artificial sun falls. A real dun fails, atmosphere goes out, weather control, evironment balance, etc. Nobody is teaching certain things anymore. Will the world die? Trying to steal their mind gets tainted. It's incomplete or in bits. Others work on things but are lazy or using old info. What happens?
Bubonic plague and rabies are only from black mold. It's curable and so are many other things but a few groups of humans very suceptible to effects. Just one example and another is do you know how to calculate light inches? It works out to about 94 for earth based on available info but it's just over 100 light inches. Also outside it is much larger than super Earth's. I learned such things on my own and through school. But I don't teach and many died or refuse. Some dit in much more modern versions of Cryogenics and stasis, others live in space. We are tired of primitive behavior from those that know better so if they like their sadism they might be masochist about to find out other options they hadn't thought of heading their way. Some suggested replay from sensory chips but that is cheating which they whined on. They wanted hell, limbo, ignorance and they gave it to themselves! Doesn't make them a magical creature, etc.

Maybe I know he has a distraction and it helps with his personal issues. But he needs a healthy career where he's not teaching his for psychology, criminology, or mental health. It's not good for his own and dangerous. I was trained very young. I used to do the odd lecture then avoided it because of unstable that are extreme in manipulative behavior. I learned it for law enforcement, military and administration. But also didn't. I learned analysis and simply passed exams for philosophy but they required I write a paper and choose school of thought. Some were unsafe and I did contribute to new ones as did others but completely left this unhealthy feild.

I also see that in "turn the other cheek". I think it's often misunderstood as meaning you should meekly give yourself over to any aggressor, but to me it's more about meeting your aggressor with confidence. It's saying "I'm going to give you a chance to do that to me one more time, and we'll just see what everyone thinks of that and what I'm going to do about it", and not letting your enemy be subversive. Because if they slap you once and you tell them to do it again you're forcing them to show the world what they really are, and you're making them stand by their position as the aggressor with all the self and society inflicted guilt that incurs. I just think that particular quote, "turn the other cheek" that is very well known and popular speaks of a far more nuanced and practical approach to conflict

Humans are ABO blood group sentients are everything else. Super sentients another group. Many have violet and green blood that looks read and has nearly identical stuff to iron based blood though it's slightly different. ABO are from clones for war, experiments, and attempt to restore those found extinct. It is a reason they have the DNA movie to explain how some died. A few other groups were also brought back but most no matter ethnicity are simply ABO. Natives of this planet years ago voted on if mixed natives from blending with abo would find out some information. But they voted against some since we don't need to tell them stats and they need to work out their history and move on from this primative behavior over 20,000 years old when ABO are only about 300 yrs old or so.

P C nice utterly fake quote to create a strawman. I fought bullies every time they physically attacked me until high school and that was because they scared us into submission by saying people who defend themselves will get a criminal record as well as the attacker. Fun little “coincidence”is that bullies weren’t a real problem for anyone until high school in my town, especially not for me. You hit a bully once and chances are they’ll never bully you again, they might stop bullying in general or at least while you’re around. It’s when we aren’t allowed to defend ourselves that good people are preyed upon by bad people, the high school was a perfect experiment of that.

Batman, like Punisher, suffered a tragic loss (family gunned down) and they're both regular humans who have to deal with their demons and act as vigilantes taking justice into their own hands and interpreting justice to what they feel it means to them.

One city once not thinking they ran after someone and we're basically in underwear with thermal properties and nano particle equipment. People stared it made popular mechanics cover I think, comics maybe. We had to say on communications please put clothes on! Because the light band was different and they weren't seen dressed in superhero clothes or regular through holographic illusion. They were very into the suits at various times. Some got very stylized and if they survive or a replica made people store them in special archive. But !OST seen by regular people are hundreds to over a thousand years old. Some books don't teach it and archives are restricted to stop crimes. So we use the old retro-futurism type equipment but will probably finally see the newer things soon. I had more modern before I stopped working in security, etc.

" understand whether the fight is worth it", i call this "the way of the wolf". We talk about people being sheep, wolves or sheepdogs, thinking sheepdogs are at the top of the heap. No, wolves are. The reason sheepdogs work is a wolf decides the fight isn't worth it. When a pack of wolves decide the fight is worth it they drive the bear away.

Roger Scruton makes a similar point regarding our darker animal like desires/ instincts. We can a) deny them completely and shun them. b) Give into them and allow them to rule us or c) Allow them to help us cope with life, even enjoy life in some aspects, but do not let them rule us.

It is the duality of our nature, that we can be good or we can be cruel. Taming that inner chaos and that inner evil and channeling it when necessary is important.

Spot on. But just because one has the sentience to understand this very fact, it doesn’t automatically follow that this particular control over this particular aspect of the sentient self will equate to generically positive results. One has to obtain grip over ones Ego, and when this is achieved the banality of the fact becomes apparent and the want to effect change becomes irrelevant. Letting go, being an inadvertent advocate of tomorrow, having the ability to care, but choosing not to utilise it for ones understanding in the futility of the action: all gloriously horrible truths. Or to use an old cliche: you’re damned if you do; you’re damned if you don’t.

Peterson's strong duality in his thinking may be his greatest personal problem. But as real life advice I of course agree with what he's saying in this video. Since I never had inhibitions of being cruel to my enemies (or to extremely annoying people), lots of this stuff sounds extremely tautologic. I sometimes wonder why he cares so much. In my opinion it's good that the world is full of sheep, because it is less competition for a lion. There has to be both: Harmless people AND dangerous people and everyone has to embrace what they really are, wether they are harmless or dangerous. The law of the jungle is universal and has to be accepted.

Similar policing had one on restrictive but some are fairly liberal. One boom plagerized was intended for administrative analysis and another for corrections prisoner management.

Shadow self is a magic trick of optics and general physics. It's commonly used by criminals manipulative behavior psychologically to gain advantage. Otherwise some advanced police equipment or military does it. Close your eyes with everyone still or nobody in room if movement seems to happen that shadow is a person or drone. It was found long ago on counter terrorism hostage extraction.
Other than that you could metaphorically place your self into boxes of descriptives. Then do self analysis.

@@FatToti well let's see people time travelling running into themselves while trying to commit murder. Police with specialized gear were tracking those. That aside I knew this man but at a different time and place than the video date but we know what happened to calendars.
Philosophy and religion came about together. Both have destructive and good qualities. I can tell deciphels of either by several observable factors. I was trained for it under military logistics analysis and under medical science.
I use analysis not philophy or religion and I know better about such things. How much funds they raise in legal defense as people try to do get out of punishment and also try to manipulate minds of vulnerable lonely or dangerous people. I also took comprehensive law and I was qualified as a philosopher, etc by my various training.
So you are unfamiliar or trying to raise up a belief. This man may of been one on tv (hostage taking) that my prior neighbor went after with his family and church. Someone might of made a movie. Then again radio operators have been around our city hassling people with electronics and doing other things. Regular police had warnings up.
As to hand holding the members may marry themselves it was a fad and handhold. They got profiled and didn't like it so some married others after which some officers found weird. They linked several crime groups to blended philosophy.
Crime is listed as a philosophy in several places and considers law the same. Law is an observed actual not theoretics of mind but analysis of known that don't involve mind philosophy links only analysis. Society and individuals will not tolerate things and it's natural they attempt to stop what they all agree is problems. Unless philosophy group wants to argue they prefer experiencing crime.
The law system and analysis system is older than philosophy. Spiritual is older than religion. The facts on philosophy is well known and documented in proper non forgery non faked items for thousands of years and in protected repositories not subjected to Paleo-Futurism or destructionist that seem to like Armageddon though it's happened a few times here.
For those with less life experience you have not went to other maps on this planet(worlds; look up definition). You also have never been to space most times and my society from outer and lower in this country usually had 40-60% of us as space travelling for work or to visit permitted map zones(worlds.). Before you go on about NASA it's an amusement park along with many mentioned these days. The police office I worked out of sometimes used StarStation which is a space habitat. We also do border areas between the world maps and rotate to normal city work on a single map awhile. I got recalled to other service in 1980s after terrorist attacks and know the modern common era and other calendars well.
Be careful if any psychology professor tries to get you into some society or religion, or blatant scam. Taking cources is fine and I was surprised to see this one on here as the news showed things that implied he's not working anymore and could be deceased.
As to others with his last name I've ran into three branches of his family here then. Police are aware of it. I don't think they look that much alike and as I've said people using that name or affiliated with it and the philosophy class were in the news here. I can't say much more on that but I do think it occured both with digital box, regular cable with no box, and streamed. I can't remember name of the news show right now.
One of the other Pedersons, Peterson's, or Patterson's looks like Joan Binet the little girl that died or went missing. One of the Peters was a swinger that has a restraining order against him and was a military officer that went bad and had taken up philosophy while recovering from ptsd then became a satanist(non Levayan his is like christian bible devil horror movie under satilite satanist modernist) or deconstructionalist. I knew of the one guy and I know why his beliefs are that way. Some stole a treatment for brain injury or misused it in treating regular memoryloss. It causes some oddities that the mind has problems reconciling. Synthesaia may happen with some, environment allergy and signal sensitivity making sleep hard altering sleep patters and being more susceptible to electronic harassment or non harassment intention signals for tv, etc making some go crazy or being on a type of limited telepathy Bluetooth or wifi phone caused by natural bioelectronics.(been used on dad, etc before in tests to help them.)
Chernobyl Psychology experiment was very dangerous and involved drugs and deconstructionalist treatment to condition for war. They were in Canada and the USA by 1974. When you see news of Quebec Terrorists, Irish terrorists, etc. It flared and those of us in counter terrorism analysis and logistics knew of war plans and the fact the others saw society ripe for the picking to deal with population, industry targets, and other changes. This maps populace was isolated with some forgetting where they came from but to here for a better life or to stop the disaster or war cycles as better things existed and these kept bothering everyone else.
The military took over here but your WWII never ended. The outer military came on rounds here and is back as is the ballooner group which is quite old. They ran a second relay some of you saw as darknet or rainbow net. We know of undernet from the tunnels found below.
We know what's there as we build what the tunnels are or the structure. Some aren't masonic and there are older parallel groups but some of us are considered FreeMasons though trained some of those or took a few of their classes. I've been to the grand oblisk of worlds and saw a judgement. Then later someone made some movie because the place is old and now a museum the archive moved but bait objects to test people or entertain them sit there now.
My family were sometimes involved with the archivists. So I know better on these things. I'm not the only one that does know about them. There are several of us in policing, medical, government, education, etc. We do quality control audits etc and management. We also know about one very odd tv show and radio show that wasn't fake.
So yes I know about the philosophy dark self or shadow and the scientific. One also talks about our desires, etc that likes to apply color code theory. Why isn't it your white, pink, cyan, vert, etc side? It's because it goes further and because it referred to subterranean development and behaviors during that time vs above ground. It's flawed because both got light and dark in artificial and natural ways. Also more than one type of people existed then in more than one area of the planet and genetic engineered in labs happened in both areas but at different times. People need to move on from this stuff. Your like a teeter totter trying to find balance and though it's not perfect it can be ok and good enough to be interesting and non crazy just off of center vs wild swings up and down.
