    I am a 100% P&T and unemployable disabled veteran who really needs a miracle. I have illnesses that constantly requires surgeries and procedures. Can I send you a couple of stories? It's no longer safe in my apartment. I want out as soon as possible and not taxing on all involved.

    Well I had got a call about a $31,000 grant but what I hear about these loan programs they are way out my league I mean they only worry about people who able to deal with your care but also trying to get into my health career by looking forward for most of the pre existing care but in the education part it come with the job but I do not go for the allergy

    So is SAH only for specially adaptable modifications to make a better quality of life or would it help toward the mortgage?

    • @LeighBrownSpeaker
      @LeighBrownSpeaker  Год назад +1

      Alexander Lee - you may be able to get an SAH grant if you’re using the grant money to buy, build, or change your permanent home (a home you plan to live in for a long time) and you meet the requirements. - Check out the website for full information: www.va.gov/housing-assistance/disability-housing-grants/

      @@LeighBrownSpeaker I’ve been told otherwise, like it states on a lot of other RUclips videos that you can only use it to make modifications to your current home. I know I’ve gotten assistance for TRA for use at my moms house. Correct me if I’m wrong, I also hear that us 100% Permanent & Total Disabled Veterans can use SAH up to 3 times in our lifetime.

      @@lootninja I want to make sure you get the right information, so I consulted our podcast guest, Chief for Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Jason Latona.
      "The primary intent of the SAH grants are to provide adaptations to help eligible Veterans/Servicemembers live more independently. In certain circumstances, grant funds may be applied to a principal mortgage balance if the primary home adaptation needs have been met, or if adaptations were previously paid for directly by the eligible Veteran/Servicemember. Each case is unique and restrictions apply, so it’s important that eligible Veterans/Servicemembers speak with an SAH team member and discuss their specific situation before incurring any expenses."

    Pretty heady comment considering that your state is embroiled in a massive tort suit. Willingly and knowingly poisoning service members, contractors, and families is not a very friendly state. I was stationed there for six out of the ten years and it did untold damage to my family.

    I am 80%(?) p&t, paid at 100% + $432.17 SMC (home bound) I am closing on a VA loan house in a cpl of weeks. I need to install a walk in shower. How can I apply for a sha grant? I hear a lot about the grants but HOW can I get one. My record is in their hands so a decision can be made instantly.
