I prefer the Relinquished goat format deck over the typical TER deck It does still go into TER, but you can out a "you played yourself" situation if you can't flip face down your own TER via Tsukuyomi due to your monster zones being full by summoning a Relinquished over it
My headcanon for Pegasus is always that he believed he was so much better at the game than everyone else, having created it, that he didn't need to use the actual best cards, and could get away with using his OC deck based on his favorite cartoon. Who wouldn't want to have their own exclusive archetype in yugioh? While there were only four Blue Eyes in the world, anyone could have gotten them. Pegasus was the ONLY person who could use toons. It also makes sense that once he lost with them, he brought out one of the actual IRL meta cards at the time.
What if there were originally tons of blue eyes but Kaiba ripped them all up? On a serious note, that's one thing I think was very cool about the anime; cards were actually rare. People didn't run multiple copies of strong cards because they couldn't. Cards like Dark Magician and Red Eyes were so rare that they became signature cards. Definitely an allure to that kind of way to play the game. Is more like playground YGO.
When Yugioh was first shown in the manga it was very early on and was only meant to be a one-off game like many others. There were no trap cards, and very few spell cards, so getting a Blue Eyes on the field was basically Exodia since there was no ways to deal with it in it's super basic original form outside of Exodia. So it could be seen as a good thing it wasn't mass produced, since they were held by collectors and not actually used before Kaiba got his hands on them.
@@kyuubinaruto17 Yeah I read the Season Zero portion and most of the Duel Monsters portion of the manga and I remember Kaiba saying the horrible things he did to attain three of four.

When people talk about the competitive viability of pegas' deck everyone misses sevral factors. One, the cards in the anime are different than the cards in the tcg. Most anime cards get massively nerfed when they get released to our world. The second thing is that the rules were different in duelist kingdom. The third thing is that most people don't understand about the Yugioh anime vs our tcg is that in the anime cards weren't as available, and werent as widley printed. I also assume people weren't selling cards over ebay in the anime.
Pegasus is a weird, weird case where his anime deck was, A. centered around Toon World which basically let him turn his opponents monsters into toon versions rather than actually require him to use toon monsters himself, and B. had a lot of cards that are only particularly great if you can literally read your opponents mind. Which he could do. Honestly, its a bit weird to even say he used some of these toon monsters since he didn't so much "use" them so much as they were just kind of... created. By literally transforming his opponents monsters.
Imagine if we had a continuous spell that caused all your monsters to be treated as Toons and gave them the toon effects. Or even an equip spell; Toon Rewrite.
You forgot to mention that the Toon Kingdom TCG card was actually buffed compared to its anime effect. To compare, here's it's anime effect: "When this card is activated, Banish the top 5 cards from your Deck, face-down. This card's name becomes "Toon World" while in the Field Zone. If a Toon Monster you control would be destroyed by battle, you can Banish the top card from your Deck face-down instead."
I remember playing The Sacred Cards on GBA. In it Thousand-Eyes Restrict was an non-Fusion Effect monster that could take control of an opponent's monster and DOUBLE its currents ATK & DEF. It was OP and I always used it there.

I know you're only looking at his cards based on their relevance in the TCG meta, but I definitely think Pegasus got a little screwed. His cards didn't translate well into the TCG, plus some of his more powerful cards weren't released until a few years ago even. The whole toon mechanic works entirely differently than it's portrayed in the TCG as well. They weren't special cards you played, literally just any monster card he played while Toon World was on the field became a toon monster. I don't know if his cards would have seen any play if they worked like the anime, but they definitely would have been better.
Toon World being a field spell that grants anything you control instant immunity to pretty much anything outside of non-targeting removal, ON TOP of being able to make them attack directly, would be absurd even in modern Yu-Gi-Oh. It would enable OTK decks hard and make strong meta decks even stronger. It would've went the way of Pot of Greed, an instant staple on any deck that can afford it, only to be permabannned and never see the light of day again.
@@felixdaniels37 and no maintenance cost honestly they can make the anime toon world a reality, just restrict the effect to main deck non-effect monster and that would be balanced enough

It was like Kingdom in that the toons were protected from combat, and though they didnt attack lp directly they were just atrociously crazy. Of course they couldn't translate that to the tcg, but nonetheless they are so cool. Getting that last recent batch of Toon support especially is strong as they can really punch the nuts of even meta decks if they get the jump on them and OTK (Stone of legend->Red eyes->Toon DM-> get BLS Toon out swing then XYZ into black flare to ensure they die from any plays...clear the field with a lightning storm, yadda yadda). And nothing feels better than comic handing and making your opponents monsters into the "ultimate life form" as Pegasus would say. I'm shocked the English version of Jigen Bakudan didn't keep its literal translation on print (Time Bomb). Even more shocking, its effect was slightly better than Time Wizard.
I feel like Toons are widely underestimated to some but others know how dangerous it can be. Played right and you could have 3 level 7+ toon monsters on the field with toon kingdom and you're set for a quick finish or heavy hard to kill monsters
My fave character even now :) If anything pegasus made his deck too fair. As the creator of the game he should hav loaded his deck with overpowered cards but given he's the sort of character who liked to mess with ppl maybe that was too easy
I just noticed the battle protection effect on Thousand-Eyes Restrict is completely irrelevant because it already stops all other monsters from attacking entirely I am probably the last person to realize this
The sad thing about the Toons is that they were nerfed hard. One, Toon World nor the toons protected themselves like in the anime. It wouldn't be until Toon Kingdom until they got any level of protection. Secondly Konami slapped summoning sickness on them which was just...murder for them. Lastly you had to pay life points for the buggers to even attack. All of those resulted in a dead deck on arrival. If toons were so heavily nerfed, they would've been the strongest archetype in the game.
I mean to be completely honest, his late title "king of games" het got because his game was the most popular and if you played him in any other game he would cheat and beat you, Him having the best cards I guess would kind of make it difficult for you to think you can Defeat him, but even with the worst cards reading someone mind would make it really hard to beat them, Especially in the anime where you only ever find out a card Effect after you attack.
She's not important enough for her own episode, but Rebecca Hawkins is who I'm voting for. Fire Princess is my favorite and she's the original player for that card.
Toon table of content is one of my favorite starter cards in my sky striker deck in master duel When I see that one copie of toon table of content in my opening hand I get happy instantly
I will say that if he ever does Yuri's deck from Arc-V it will surprise him because he has one of the most competitively rogue decks the anime has ever seen.
Mimicat and comic hand are searchable via toon bookmark which is searchable via toon table, so technically they are searchable via toon table of contents
Through all intents and purposes, these cards should all be amazing; however, Toon decks are no where near anywhere close to being meta. I strongly prefer if they had a boss monster that invokes the same presence as Ultimate Conductor, then they could at least have a nuanced, meta relevance. (Or maybe at least a new main deck monster that gives a draw 2 on summon to maybe help retain card advantage)

I also use Toon Briefcase because afterall who wants to contend with an OP monster with crazy hard to get around effects that just rinsed and repeats each turn? It’s basically a force back trap card
Way back when Relinquished was quite literally the only ritual monster that wasn't complete and utter ass. Same with Thousand-Eyes Restrict being the best fusion monster out there.

Pegasus’s Toons aren’t the same as the actual game.
If they were they would be broken. His toon world card is better than Toon Kingdom.
I mean yes, but that could apply to half the insanity the show did. Special mention of said insanity goes to that fusion Yugi did between mammoth graveyard and Kaiba's monster that...decayed it?
I still want that support btw. Tribute (discard?) 1 zombie-type monster to "decay" (negate effect, halve attack?) of an extra deck monster?
Mimicat is actually now searchable by bookmark, because it mentions Toon World in its effect text.
Always loved the Toon cards, even knowing they're not actually good.
Recommendation for Sakaki Yuya's cards, or Kaito Tenjo's.
I loved pegasus using toon cards as it was something to his character how he loved his games and cartoons 🤣
Dude I miss the Pegasus Deck. That one was a game-changer in school... lol. I kinda wish they'd done a structure deck or something to that effect.
If Toon World / Toon Kingdom let you special-summon once per turn a toon monster from you hand or deck would have make more sense like in the anime pegasus did
Yes. Comic Hand cannot be seatched by Toon Table of Contents - HOWEVER, Toon Bookmark can
The high level iq play is use table of contents to search for toon bookmark then search for comic hand 😂
I wonder if they would ever make tooner/tuner monsters for toon synchro
I still use Toons mixed with magician girls and Quintent Magician. I get my cheeks clapped half the time but I love Toon World
Yeah I know they aren’t that good but they are so fun especially the old bad ones they suck but I love them while I like the removal of the summoning sickness I miss the LP cost to attack it’s like ok you have to pay 500 life points to attack but you get to bypass your opponent’s monsters 3000 for 500 is a great trade
I'm shocked the English version of Jigen Bakudan didn't keep its literal translation on print (Time Bomb). Even more shocking, its effect was slightly better than Time Wizard.
I love videos like these, i always find new good cards i can put into my own decks😂
I just noticed the battle protection effect on Thousand-Eyes Restrict is completely irrelevant because it already stops all other monsters from attacking entirely
I am probably the last person to realize this
You can attack into a stronger monster or get honest used on you. It will protect the restrict from being destroyed
Digital Bugs tremble at this effect
Also if ur opponent has two monsters with the same attack u can use relinquished on one to attack into the other which kills both at the same time
Its really relevant. You attack into a stronger monster to destroy the monster equipped, then equip the new monster. Happens all the time in goat.
Here's a big one:
How good were Bastion Misawa's cards?
Currently playing Duel Links campaign running through with my own Toon World Deck
Oh Relinquished, the only card i collect, who has love for that card too?
I have multiple pages in a binder filled with the SDP Relinquished... it’s just such a beautiful card ❤️
perhaps Revolver from yugioh Vrains, a lot of his cards are still used today
OOOOoohhh Dougie-boy!
Awesome! Would love to see you review Ishizu's cards! :D
Toon table of content is one of my favorite starter cards in my sky striker deck in master duel
When I see that one copie of toon table of content in my opening hand
I get happy instantly
5:20 With that effect to prevent your monster from being destroyed, does that also negate battle damage?
No
@@Dzeeff hi dzeef
I so wish you'd been playing the Toon World theme in the background of this video. lol. Most excellent.
“How hard do toon cards break my wallet “
I will say that if he ever does Yuri's deck from Arc-V it will surprise him because he has one of the most competitively rogue decks the anime has ever seen.
The MC had monkeyboard
I got an ad 2:32 sec into the video & i blame you Dzeeff
Cards like Comic Hand and Mimicat may not be searched by Toon Table, but you can still search them with Toon Bookmark.
I won’t lie his deck was my first and it made learning the game really hard lmao
I'd like to see the Master of Faster on this series, The King, Jack Atlas!
What are your thoughts on Joey's anime only Lanstar cards?
It would be cool if you looked at all of the number cards that were in the anime
Comic Hand may not be searchable by Table of Contents but you can search it with the new spell card
Bandit Keith would make an awesome addition to the anime character deck analysis list!
Yeah Relinquish was really good. I think it still is good. I use Relinquish in my deck that I made. If you use it right. It can be a good setup.
Mimicat and comic hand are searchable via toon bookmark which is searchable via toon table, so technically they are searchable via toon table of contents
I love playing toons. Comic hand can take pretty much any monster. I love it!
Toon cannon soldier got played a lot, didn’t it? As a search target for toon table of contents and as an otk move?
Can you review Jack Atlas's cards next?
‘How Broken Were Emma Bessho’s YGO Cards’ would be Dzeeff’s longest of these videos yet
Can you talk about some characters in Zexal? Arc V? Kite Tenjo, Akaba Reiji (or Declan in the dub), Shark, Yuma, Yuto?
Playmaker would be an interesting one to view. I mean Firewall is a given but still would be neat to look at
Through all intents and purposes, these cards should all be amazing; however, Toon decks are no where near anywhere close to being meta. I strongly prefer if they had a boss monster that invokes the same presence as Ultimate Conductor, then they could at least have a nuanced, meta relevance. (Or maybe at least a new main deck monster that gives a draw 2 on summon to maybe help retain card advantage)
There's always a place for Toons in my heart... I still run them in Duel Links despite being terrible.
Least Toons, Unions, Spirits can be tinkered around whenever support comes out.
Free thousand eyes restrict in speed duels till it’s backwards that’s word to Farfa
Hey Dzeeff, duel links is pretty big right now cus of blue eyes, thought you could do another king of games run like you used to, I'd be reaaaaally glad if you could : ) love your content!
Go be fair toon BLS didn’t exist back then. I actually do run a toon deck with toon cyber dragon with toon harpy lady and am able to get at least 3 if not 4 monsters on the field in my first turn.
I use Mimicat quite often cause to me it’s like joeys Time Machine trap card only it doesn’t cost u 2000 to use.
Toon Briefcase and Toon Mask chained onto eachother. You get a monster, and the opponent loses theirs.
I agree the original toons in the card game are not that great, but if konami made all the cards Pegasus had exactly as he used them it would have been totally broken.
Superman: Lord Farquaad I've been expecting you.
I would love to see Dr. Crowler's cards in a video lol
It seems like Pegasus' cards did have a lot of impact within Yugioh's history.
I remember kaiba and yugi starters was always sold out. You had your choice of joey or pegasus.
If I read that correctly Toon Briefcase doesn't target? If so I think it's pretty decent.
dzeeff: MWA HA HA HA! This boss monster is unstoppable!
Any random kaiju that rocks up: BITCH FUCKING PLEASE! (shoves a beer in a random persons hand) HOLD THIS!
Mimicat and comic hand are now searchable with bookmark
Dartz or Leon's (both from OG yugioh)
Orichalcos deck or Fairy tale based cards deck.
mad respect to him for not creating/using extremely rare and op cards
Dude his cards where op in the anime
I love toon cards. How could you forget Dark Rabbit?
How broken are Dzeef his altergeist cards
Could you imagine him coming out of the gate like "...and the only times my Altergeists were defeated, it was purely because my opponents at the time were DIRTY ROTTEN CHEATERS."
Playing agenst Relinquished and thousand eyes decks used to make me want to put my head into a wall 😂 good cards tho
