Eli, thank you so much for making these videos. I have been on the path of studying PC repair for months. I even paid about $150 for a course from some very popular guys, and I just did not understand it. I wound up returning it for a refund. But YOU not only know what you are talking about, but you are so good at explaining it in terms that I can understand. I look so forward to watching all the videos in this series, and getting fed by all you have posted here on your channel. Thank you!
@dannygizzle33 No you'll have to find a tool that fixes the specific type of file that is corrupted. ScanPST fixes Outlook PST files, there are programs to fix corrupted Word Docs, and Power Point Docs, etc... They generally want $30 per type of file you are trying to recover.
@dannygizzle33 Probably... That way you can easily bill them for the software. Honestly you don't run across A LOT of corrupted files, so buying it for your own tool kit is probably not a worthwhile expense.
im sorry but its really been bugging me how tall are you? some times you look pretty tall in your videos other times not so much........love your videos, i applied some of the knowledge gained to repairing an old desktop i found and now it works great for a windows 98 based computer......
Wait Wait. What happens when you take a windows HDD and plug it in to a Mac? I know what you said, but what does the mac DO to it? I though Macs can look into NTFS. If you can explain or link me to some where it goes into greater detail about this.
Eli I have a wd hdd that was dead. I found the same one made in the same month and swapped out the circuit board. Now it is alive (using an external enclosure) but it is undetectable in windows 7 but shows up grey in disk management. Show I go ahead and create new volume and try and get my files off using Recuva after windows is able to discover it?
If you install the un-delete software after you've deleted files cant that overwrite the files you want to save? Should you install it to an external memory?
I know this is an old video Eli but I've got a question. About 3 years ago, I deleted ten Bitcoins when I formatted a windows partition to a linux one (I realize I'm an idiot). A "linux guru" friend of a friend formatted the drive back to NTFS so that I could use Recuva. The result was fairly garbled. Is there any hope to get my precious Bitcoins back?
You're wasting your time worrying about your fakecoins. It's not backed by ANYTHING OF REAL VALUE. Think about it. Why do you think Helix crashed and burned and took millions of dollars of these fakecoins that belonged to customers with them? Anytime you DON'T back up a currency with something of REAL WORLD value, you might as well use Monolopy board-game money, then it's only a matter of time before business vendors, your currency in your country's government and damn near everyone wakes up and realizes it has no real value and everyone STOPS accepting it. Notice something. Do you see the following vendors of goods, items, and services ACCEPTING moroncoins: Entergy or any other companies providing electricity to residential and commercial customers cox, Charter, time warner, comcast, verizon, at&t, and other ISP's Walmart, Kroger, Freds, Roses, Target, and any Local Mom n Pop stores Newegg, Amazon, Tigerdirect, PcPartsPicker, Microcenter Kohl's, Belk's, JC Penny's, and other clothing stores 99% of restaurants nationwide Best Buy ( aka Worst Buy) Any Gas Utility vending companies Medicine delivery companies Walgreens, CVS, SuperD, etc Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Chevy StateFarm, Nationwide, AllState, Alfa, Esurance, General, Direct, Geico Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, CitiBank GAS stations nationwide Hotels NATIONWIDE Trailers, apartments, Houses for rent AND any banks or others that OWN a residential or commercial properties to sell them to you Repair service vendors of ALL walks of life : pc tech related, plumber, electrician, carpenter, drywall, flooring, roofing contractors, lawn care businesses, construction contractors, road work contractors Stock brokers, Banks as far as setting up ROTH ira's, Lawyers, going to pay a citation for any laws broken at a local courthouse, yearly automobile tag renewal, getting your name and social security number changed ( for example if a woman now divorced from her abusive husband and fears for her life MAY do BOTH), ?? Answer= NO So thus buttcoins are USELESS, and even if you find the RARE few places like Dominoes pizza or pizza hut in a CERTAIN state or three that DO take them. versus the VALUE of the stupid asscoin, you're paying more than DOUBLE the cost of the pizza had you paid in cash. When you think about the fact that you're KILLING your amd video card's longevity and it takes more than 4x the COST of the electricity versus obtaining even HALF an asscrackcoin and in which tO BUY that pizza, you're basically choosing to KILL your video card for days, weeks, and more than a month EASILY spending more than 20 bucks for the electricity JUST to earn enough bitcoin value to buy ONE medium two topping pizza.. . Thus it is ASININE to pay about 20 bucks to get back $15.00 in DIGITAL FAKE MONEY to spend on ONE 2 topping medium pizza instead of just forking over around 5 to 7 bucks tops including sales tax WITH CASH to get the SAME exact pizza. You're WASTING time, and paying A LOT more money in the end while killing your video card just to pay more ( using a ONLINE MADE UP currency) for the same damn item. It's just the same level OF being asinine as going into debt for more than 30% interest to buy a 20,000.00 car using a credit card and not paying it off for more than 5 years than when you ALREADY have 20 grand IN CASH to give the dealer and walk away OWNING your car officially once the damn title arrives via usps or at the courthouse depending on your state. Thus, FORGET your fecescoins, because in the end they will fall just like the roman democracy ( aka roman empire BECAUSE of what it became from a republic). Use your time and effort on something more intelligent in life like learning better ways to grow your own food supply, learning about pc tech related things, learning your constitutional rights, sensible exercise, and reading a few books like Bruce Lee Fighting spirit, Total Money Makeover, Liberty Define, etc. You're welcome.
***** Wrong. Recuva allowed me to recover data that was more than 3 years old on my 240gb ssd that had win 7 pro 64 bit installed in it 3 different times, plus reformatted 1 additional time when I began using it ONLY has a storage drive everything except, o.s. installation, torch browser, and movies. It is one of the software that eli recommended ine one of this videos and so far has worked wonderfuly.
And yet there are still people today who will destroy a perfectly good hard drive because they believe that even if you zero-fill the entire drive, any 14 year old "hacker" can magically bring back all of the data in about 30 seconds. I blame CSI...
Hi Eli or Anyone, I have accidentally formatted the password drive in Sony External HDD(HD-E1) and reinstalled the password software with same password. but later found, it formatted the actual data and its gone now. Sony in no more supporting data recovery in this case. With some data recovery software, i could recover some RAW files which is clubbed together with some file formars like, gz, .flv and so on. I suspect, its recoverying the blocks encrypted by password. Is there any software which will recover formatted drive which is password protected by Sony software. Thanks in advance. Really appreciate if anyone could point me in right direction. Note: I still know the password.
what is this ...i am not here to know that which software can help me to recover the password .....or in case of motherboard there is nothing which cannot be recovered .....they shuld have memory ic etc ....i don't know now about that.......but first u get knowledge about data recovery then come to us......we all know about software....get something new
Are you selling mobo's on the side ;)? Telling people they will have to buy a new mobo if they cant remember their BIOS password is wrong. All you need to do is clear the CMOS and the password is gone. Plus, if the user placed a hard drive password on their hard drive you can easily remove it as well (and in some cases recover what the password was) with hardware that's readily available.
First time watching this channel. Orange jump-suit, jail looking walls and lighting... it looks an inmate giving a class from inside a jail cell. No offense but maybe some better lighting, curtain on the wall and a blue shirt?

@dannygizzle33 Depends on the license. I like Recuva because it works well and is free...

Thanks for all your teaching, i go to college but many times a learn more from you than from my teachers.
@dannygizzle33 Probably... That way you can easily bill them for the software. Honestly you don't run across A LOT of corrupted files, so buying it for your own tool kit is probably not a worthwhile expense.
Thanks for the lesson Eli! We appreciate your videos!
@MicronicleDust use a piece of data recovery software like Recuva and you should be ok.
This was a nice introduction summary, on data recovery.
Thanks alot dude.
@elithecomputerguy Does recuva also repair corrupted files along with recovering erased files?
Do you have any introduction videos for data administration?
Exelente video! Conoces alguna capacitacion en idioma español?Gracias
I love the way you teach Eli

Will I have to purchase a new corrupt file recovery program with every job or can the same copy be used on multiple machines?

If you have formatted and written data on that drive your data is gone.

One thing, too redundant. You repeat things too many times.

He said that's the only option if you can't remember the password on a laptop as they don't have resets or CMOS batteries... listen to the video
your voice is low
if you can illustrated your speech would be great, we already know your face.
