I’ve been making chocolate covered cherries for years. I Always double the powdered sugar mixture. I prefer to use a teaspoon on the cherries instead of 1/2 teaspooon.
4-cups powdered sugar
6-tablespoons each of butter and Karo syrup.
1-teaspoon of salt.
I make sure the butter is room temp and mix/knead by hand in a large bowl till the mixture forms into a ball. I cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. It’s much easier to work with when putting onto cherries if it’s chilled.
I also like for my cherries to sit on a paper towel covered tray for several hours. They are much easier to work with if they are less wet.
😊
I love chocolate covered cherries. We ALWAYS have them for Christmas.
Cordial cherries were my mom’s favorite candies and her birthday was 12/12 so she always wanted cordial cherries for her birthday and then we kids got for Christmas.
We make these every year for all of our family both milk chocolate and dark chocolate. We add 1 tsp of coconut oil to the chocolate when we melt it. Also, we let them set for about 2 weeks so the insides become more liquified. Since we make so many we use a small chaffing dish to keep our chocolate warm as we make them.
I’ve never seen them wrapped with dough. I’ve only seen them covered heavily with powdered sugar then dipped in two coats chocolate. Wait few days and sugar makes the liquid inside 😊
I love this recipe. The left over cherry 🍒 juice would be good in a glass of coke 😋 Cherry coke .Add to taste.
What did you do with the cherry Juice you drained? Suggestion add it to your cherry jello and also don’t eat the ones with the broken or missing stems, dice em up and add to your jello.
My dad was a chocolate covered cherry gobbler every Christmas. Now I love them just as much. Wish you had cut one open so we could see the inside. Is it clear liquid or creamy?
Great idea. Maybe she will make some more and do that.
I'd rather make my own. Store bought tastes old. Excellent idea.
I have almost foundered on these before. They are sooo good!
We buy our brother chocolate covered cherries every year, but your recipe might encourage me to try making them myself.
My mother LOVED chocolate covered cherries!
Hello.
I love the chocolate covered cherry 🍒. yummy. happy Sunday.
My dad loved them too.. and a box mysteriously appeared in the house at Christmastime after he ate a couple.. then us kids could have at 'em!
Never liked them as a kid! Now they look sooo good to me! I hope to try these! Thx Tammy! 😘
Tammy, I can't thank you enough for sharing this recipe. Chocolate covered cherries with the white feeling, not the syrup. There's the difference, was my mom's favorite, can't wait to make them. Here's to you Mom😢☺️🫶❤️
I have added peanut butter to the "cream" mix i wrap the cherries with, and then dip them in butterscotch . Mine have to sit and "mellow", because the cream wrapping liquifies with time and makes them ooze that gooey syrup when you bite them.
I always get them for Christmas 🎄 😌 thanks for sharing. Love from Virginia ♥️
My daddy always had to have the chocolate covered cherries at Christmas time too, just nothing else would do, 🤗🎄
I agree! Nothing tastes as yummy as a Chocolate Covered Cherry❣️ I could almost taste yours as you ate it! 😁 Thank You so much…
Miss Tammy Merry Christmas to you and your family from Minnesota. Love watching you cook ,you are Awesome.❄️☃️🧑🎄🎄

I love these! 🍒 🍫 🎅🏼❤️
Tammy Tks for sharing!!! I always thought they were so complicated to make
Oh my goodness! I followed your recipe and made these at Christmas...Amazing!!! Dare I say better than Queen Anne's in my opinion😊
Good to hear!
Never knew how to make them from scratch. Was surprised to find the white cream was butter and powdered sugar. TFS
And corn syrup❤
Chocolate covered cherries were my father's favorite too! ❤ Tonya
This Chocolate Covered Cherries recipe looks so delicious 😋 Ms. Tammy.
That was my favorite for years.❤
I love these, my dad loved them also
Oh wow..I've never seen these done before..they look so good..I might give rdd these a try..thanks so much for sharing with us..
Yes! Brach’s is the best! Queen Anne is pretty good too! I make them with a mold. Paint the mold with chocolate then freeze, the check it doesn’t have thin places. Then repaint, then put in fondant with invertase, and Mari chino cherry, then seal then top with chocolate. It takes 5 hours to make 48 candies. Your method seems easier. I will try it. Thanks for sharing!
Love that kind of candy
My Dad loved chocolate covered cherries too. Brachs.
✍Hi Tammy and Chris...growing up in the 40-50s chocolate covered cherries was a must have at Christmas. I've never made home made candy but you've made it look so easy that I just might some for Christmas 🎅.🎄 Good Night😴 God Bless and Merry Christmas from Ohio
Sounds great!
NOTHER GREAT VIDEO 🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️🙋🏼♀️👍
I totally think that marzipan would be great insted of the powder sugar mix. 😊
I've made these for years using candy molds. I think mine are good as well. Will try your recipe. ❤
Omg I sit an eat chocolate covered cherries 🍒 till a box of them r empty... My favorite r the Cella"s milk chocolate covered cherries.... With the liquid center. ❤as I sit here eating some.... Mmmm
I remember you made these last year and I made them. Yours look so pretty, You make every single thing look so easy. Mine were good but they sure did not look like anything like yours. LOL You do have to really have patience to make them. I think I really made them to close to Christmas, now would be a great time to make them.
i love maraschino cherries
I was just thinking about looking this video up. Perfect timing! Thank you!!❤
Thank you Tammy, for sharing that recipe.
My second favorite ❤️ ❤
I never knew that chocolate covered cherries was such a process??
Funny, where we live you can barely find the dark chocolate ones - they are definitely my favorite, but they sell out so fast! I have to draw the line somewhere, so I avoid the milk chocolate ones in order to slow down my cherry gobblin', haha!
And now they have French vanilla ones, and cherry cola flavor, and also blueberries instead of cherries! Those last aren't too bad.
So Delicious ❤️
They looks delicious ❤❤
The only choc I don't like is white chocolate. Gimme dark. Gimme milk. Gimme salted. These look amazing!
I love cherry pie. My favorite pie, and my grandfather’s favorite pie, goes to show both born on Nov 3rd, what we like. Then Coconut Cream. My grandma used to make me a deep dish (3 to 5 different cherries) Cherry pie for my birthday every year. Homemade crust using lard! Not Crisco she said! That is the secret to a good Cherry pie, some are tarter, some are sweeter. How do you make a Cherry Pie (lattice, crumble topping, crust topping)? We have here what we call Runny Butter Kuchen in Louisville, KY. Have you tried that?
I have never heard of that
Looks delicious. Blessings and Merry Christmas 🙏🎄❤️
I always buy me a box at Christmas time
To help with the chocolate dippin, have a sauce pan with water just barely simmering and put a metal bowl on top of that. Make sure no moisture gets inside this bowl but it will stay the right dippin stage until you turn off the heat!
What is the consistency on the inside? They look deeelish!!
That looks good but hard to do
One of my favorite treats
Looks delicious!!
I always use paraffin wax in a double boiler.
Make em every year, I do like the dark chocolate better though, and it is a lot of work, but so worth it. Make a maple nut chocolate coated one that seems to go over pretty big around here, and fudge and, why do we only make these goodies at Christmas.
Yum ny favorite for years
💙 Love!!! 💙
Its a tradition in my family too and we're all NORTHERNERS from Ohio!😂 Merry Christmas Tammy and Chris!😘🎄
Hi tammy and family
Thank you for sharing
We love all but JESUS loves all more
That was not dough it was butter light corn syrup❤ confectioner sugar quick dash salt
That was my dad's favorite as well.
Hi Tammy..❤
Wow. Delicious. 😋🍒
Oh my I will make me some thank
Has anyone tried Queen Anne cherry cola cordial cherries & if so, are they good? Love cherry coke 🤫.
I alway use a hot water bath to keep my chocolate fluid, electric skillet with small amount of water on low will melt easily
Yummy!!
👍❤️✝️
Thank you they look delicious
Thank you. Pray all is well with you and yours
I always liked them, but they are so rich I used to drink a glass of milk in behind them when I was younger. Maybe a cup of black coffee would be better as an adult.
Goodness, I just didn't realize this was so time consuming.
My mom make these .
I’ve always had a hard time melting chocolate and keeping it melted . A friend of mine told me to get one of those little tiny crick pots for potpourri and use it to melt your chocolate and dip your candy !! I am going out today to get me one !!!
No don’t. Use a heating pad and stainless bowl. The chocolate needs to be brought up to about 110° then stirred until it hits about 80°. Then it will be shiny and have a snap. Tammy’s were dull because she did not temper her chocolate.
Hey ,Tammy how you doing & Chris ?? Merry Christmas to you and your family !! Happy new year !!! Love chocolate covered cerrys yummy yummy Tammy, look so good for sure !! Yes, God bless you and your family, 🙏😇❣️✝️❤😂😮😊😅!🎅🤶☃️🎀🎅🏼🤶💞🎀 7:17
Merry Christmas Tammy and Chris. With love, your BFF in Oxnard California Terri ❤🌲
Maraschino cherries
Is it best to wait & make these on my trip? They will melt on my 3hr journey.
They will be fine just pack them in an air tight container
yummy
Dark chocolate is keto friendly. The darker the chocolate the better. 75% to 80% cacao
Do you think she knows what keto is? LMAO
when you are storageing the for a dinner party -what should you put them in?
An airtight continer
oh yummy!~~~ what mixer were you using making the powered sugar mix?
Bosch it is on collardvalleycooks.com
Red and green candles

Bosch it is on collardvalleycooks.com
My Grandmother made her chocolate covered cherries called Martha Washington chocolate covered cherry candy! Never had the recipe as back then they kept their recipes to themself! My mother always
said she didn't give all the recipe! Lol
Curious about your recipe...I've never seen these made without Invertase- which liquifies the sugar and makes it like the ones you buy at the store. It does require them to sit for 2 weeks. Do yours liquify after they sit? I've never made it without the invertase so I'm curious if it is necessary. Thanks.
Yes they liquify
What is invertase?
So you don’t use invertase as to liquify your white font once coated with chocolate?
It liquifies already
What did u seal them with and why
The written recipe is linked in the description
Dark is suppose to be healthier for your body.
I wish you could find sugarfree cherries because they have the sugarfree cho.
Box of the candy doesn’t have very much cherries candy in them
