I like Atlanta but its too hot down here in the summer and no snow weather i cant take it any more and moving back to Washington DC in a few months if not sooner
Fun fact , Killa Mike was right . Atlanta didn’t really have gangs . Gwinnett and Cobb & Clayton counties brought that element due to their need to survive with the influx of hispanic and asian gangs and it spread to atlanta ! atlanta had cliques like Da Fam and Black Mobb at the time & the sentiment spread to the city through black familiarity
Well LA gangs like the Rollin' 60 Neighborhood Crips, & Inglewood Families Gangster Bloods have chapters in Atlanta. They def flocked down to the A between the late 80's-early 00's.
@@joshingram071 Gangs ain’t hit til the 2000’s . they might of been here , but they wasn’t claiming none of that . before us they was banging cliques . i watched it happen . hella crips , gd’s and LGF (a spanish alliance of LK’s , Brown Siders , etc) , they ops LRZ & NRL and asian boyz already heavy in Norcross and Lilburn . When Lil wayne and Guuci started banging all that blood shit that’s when the whole city started banging and basically turned blood and you had to be brave to Crip around atlanta metro . Still kinda to an extent
Very Interesting and informative video. I've been to the city countless times, but I love my home in the woods 90 miles north of Atlanta. No hustle n bustle, nor traffic. Peace and love to All the wonderful people who live there. ❤❤❤
If you were still here from the point when you had nothing, you survived. There are more people who survived without joining a gang than the lost individuals that choose to become a gang member. So, being in a violent gang isn't the answer to surviving. How can anyone care about survival, when everything they stand for promotes death. Rap music has become the drug that makes you lose your mind, the thug culture glamorizes illegal antics so you could lose your freedom and finally this game is dangerous, you could lose your life. This has absolutely nothing to do with survival. What Mike did was give them an excuse to justify their antics and at his age still referring to himself as KILLER Mike as intelligent as he is didn't help the situation in my humble opinion. The production was awesome!
Wat you got to understand is it was these same gangs that made it safe to walk the streets some of these same gangs come from the blacc panther party and some of the head gang leaders use to march wit civil rights groups where it took a turn idk

I think the movement of ppl from concentrated pockets of poverty to the entire metro area has resulted in majority minority counties around Atlanta, Clayton, Gwinnett, Cobb, Henry, Newton, Fayette, DeKalb, coweta, Rockdale, Fulton and all majority minority, and produce as much revenue as the rest of the state of GA combined, and with the increase in property values home owners now have instant equity 😂 new wealth, that's my push back

Not that I'm confusing the gentleman speaking at 18:50 with an actual researcher, mind you...he's just conflating facts with random observations and guessing about how a whole other section of society works, without actually studying it.
