JAY! This was the exact review I needed! I was going back and forth between party box and the klipsch since Costco is selling the klipsch for $150 a pop rn. The PartyBox has a much fuller sound. The difference is night and day in this review. Gonna pull the trigger on the PartyBox 310 😎
You can tws the gigs and you get two for the same price. Also the sound stage is much different with bass boost off on the gig having used both the sound quality is better on gig imo with bass boost off
I have the gig xl and I did notice the speaker sounds much better if you change the audio quality settings to high on your streaming app or use a hi-res/hi-fi music streaming service like tidal or deezer. For my other bluetooth speakers from JBL, Monster, Harmon Kardon, Bose, and B&O they were less reliant on the music streaming app and audio quality settings to sound good. Wish the Klipsh speaker would connect to an app with eq settings.
You forgot to mention the wattage for each speaker. JBl is rated at 160 and klipsch at 80. So comparing sound at percentage of volume. The Jbl will always be louder. But the clarity of sound at any volume is the key. Impact had to do with volume levels. Impact without good sound is useless. I believe the Klipsch wins with sound accuracy.
Watts are only part of the equation. Different speakers are scaled differently as to how they increase the output at different volume percentages, so that doesn't have as much to do with watts. Also, I can't remember off hand, but the 160w rating the Partybox 110 lists is plugged in. Off the battery it's not as powerful. Lastly, the Gig XXL is a rebranded speaker that Klipsch slapped their name on. It's not a Klipsch developed product. It's not a bad speaker, but it isn't in the league of the Partybox 110 by any stretch. It is closer to the ONN Large Party Speaker Gen 2. IMO, the Hisense Party Rocker is the better of those 3 lower priced party speakers. hope this helps. 😉
This has nothing to do with quality. Klipsch has always had this sound signature. Clear powerful highs. Medium clean crispy bass. Its doing its job. People that prefer that sound profile will not like the muffled unclear highs of the JBL. Although i like klispch sound profile a lot, for big parties and party music jbls are better with that loud muddy mid bass. But every one listens to what they like👌
You apparently didn't get the memo, but this Klipsch Gig XXL isn't a Klipsch designed speaker. It's just a rebranded speaker they slapped their badge on and changed a couple of knobs to gold ones. 😉
@@JaysStraightUpReviews i actually read those reports before the speaker even released. apparently you still didn’t get the memo what was said above, about sound profile. A klipsch will never have loud muddy bass like a jbl no matter what price point klipsch is about powerful highs and crispy mids. I mean the klipsch gig xxl is a $120 dollar speaker, yeah a $400 dollar jbl at 4 times the price better sound louder. But you do you papa(; 😮💨✌️
@OGkush69x dude, Klipsch didn't make this speaker. They just slapped their badge on an existing speaker.. Its not a bad speaker for the current orice, but it was originally $350. No was buying at that price.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews i heard it sounds different. Its either diff internals or tuned differently. Either way thats why i skipped on this speaker because felt klipsch was being lazy. I have old klipsch 6.5 inch bookshelf speakers, klipsch powered subwoofer and the pro medias 2.1 computer speakers that are way ahead of their time👌 excellent sound quality, too bad they have gotten lazy with their new stuff. I have new jbl 310 that is loud mid muddy/boomy bass which is great for house parties where u wanna vibrate the house. But the klipsch always have more clear powerful crisp sound.
Jbl definitely had more depth and is brighter. The overall sound of the jbl is better, except the vocals when turned up louder which tends to be more piercing on the jbl. As a lifelong Klipsch owner going back to the heritage series in the early 80's, and have klipsch home theater, in wall throughout my house and several other klipsch products, i would but the 110 before the xxl and hope i can use the equalizer to soften the vocals at higher volumes. Thanks for the review.
I recently both these speakers. the JBL for 300 and the Klipsch for 50. I came to the same conclusion. If i never heard the JBL i would be happy with the Klipsch, but even before comparing the two, I knew the JBL would sound a lot better. I just wish the JBL for the price was overall louder since for my application i'm going to be using it for most, the loudness is a major factor. I guess i just need a bigger JBL
It's not bad. As I mentioned in a video, it's when you compare it to a JBL speaker that it becomes more noticeable how the JBL is better in all aspects
Listening to both with JBL top of the line headphones. JBL partybox is made for parties with enhanced bass and high frequencies. Klipsch is flat frequency like Frfr or studio Monitors. Partybox frequencies are built into the JBL unit so the original frequencies will be altered by JBL partybox. On the other hand, the original frequencies will not be as altered by Klipsch. In order to increase bass and high frequencies, a equalizer needs to be added before Klipsch. If you want thumping bass at your party, you would want partybox or get a PA speaker with 15 inch speaker. 15 inch JBL Eon speakers or Bose or EVs will make your whole body, including organs, feel the bass. If you want more flat response with emphasis on vocals, acoustic guitars, and other mid range frequencies, you would want Gig XXL. Bose L1 pro 32 is what people want, but want to spend $50. Klipsch is a good bargain for $99 on Amazon currently, but wait six months and it will be on ebay for $50. Got to listen to both. JBL is 2x the cost of Klipsch. Also, JBL is 2x+ wattage. JBL has elevated bass and high frequencies. Klipsch is not flat, but close. JBL fun at parties, but ear fatigue after several hours. Klipsch not loud at parties and disappointing, but pleasant to listen to over time. Getting 2 Klipsch still is not loud as JBL.
for me the sound of the klipsh is really better, it doesn't destroy your ears and the song in high pitch, the jbl is certainly much more powerful and clear but it's way too high, it's really not pleasant
Great thing about the Partybox 110 is the app support allows you to change the sound, so if it's too bright for you it can be made to sound warmer. The Klipsch is just okay, not great. The 110 is better in every way to me.
The Klipsch sound all dirty especially at 100% The 110 is by far the better sounding speaker. The gig doesn't get a volume boost in power the 110 does. The Klipsch has no chance.

JBL's (Samsung) strategy is very similar to Bose's, equalizing the sound to eliminate frequencies that seem more pleasant to the user, does not mean that they are of quality.
Thanks for the video. Is Klipsch GIG XXL Portable Wireless Party Speaker more comparable with JBL Partybox 110 or 310 in terms of impact, power and sound quality? I just bought JBL partybox 310 currently available for a black friday deal price of 399.95, but was mulling over also byuing the Klipsch available for a black friday deal price of $150 at Costco, compare the two and eventually keep the one I like better. I like the 310's powerful sound, deep bass and bright sound profile and intend to use it for indoor and outdoor parties, particularly Karaoke parties. I also lke clear microphone output for karaoke singinng. Though, I think the playback sound output is more biased towards bass and power than an overall balanced sound. From this video, it appears I will still likely prefer the JBL for party purposes as even JBL 110 seems to have more "impactful" sound than the Klipsch. I imagine the difference between 310 and the Klipsch be even more noticeable. I am wondering which one would be better value for money for parties and karaoke singing. I don't intend to use the speaker for daily listening as for that I prefer a more balanced sound , for which I have my bookshelf speakers.Thoughts? 11:1611:16
Thanks for your quick response. In that case I won't even bother trying the Klipsch as I need the power output and impact of 310 for small to medium size parties including Karaoke singing. If the power output of the Klipsch is comparable to 110, I'll just keep my 310. I took it for a test drive for my first Karaoke party and everyone in the party liked its playback as well as microphone output.
The 110 is a really great speaker with great options and features. When it was under $300 it was a good buy. If money is short and/or you aren't very particular about what it sounds like, the Klipsch is a decent budget option. However, i still think the Onn Large Party Speaker gen 2 is better at $150.
Klipsch sounds better and more accurate. Jbl is higher and has a strange tin like echo. Jbl tuned it to non audiophiles whose attention is grabbed by high highs and inaccurate boomy base. Klipsch tuned theirs to be tone accurate. Nice test but you fell for jbls tactics. It is not better and you will get tired of the sound.
