This year's ESC just proved that we are done with cliche pop songs sung in English. The top five songs this year are so diverse, authentic & sung in native languages (except Iceland, but you can't deny that their song really stood out). I hope we will see more of this beautiful diversity and creativity in the future.
Look, I listened to some Daði Freyr's songs in Icelandic and I found them lovely to listen. And this is from an Italian native speaker. If "10 years" were in Icelandic it would have been perfect, really.

No one is gonna read this but, I don’t think people understand how important it actually is for us young rock fans to have a band like Måneskin finally coming out of the dark. I’m 21 years old and been a rock fan ever since I was 15, I of course mostly listen to old school bands from the 70s/80s and 90s. Now to say that I can FINALLY relate to a band with people of my own age is something I thought would never happen. There’s a lot of talented modern rock bands out there, but none of them made it to the top like Måneskin ( Greta Van Fleet kinda did but they’re not really original ) and it’s only the beginning for them. It’s truly incredible that in 2021 rock music is starting to come back to life. I hope those other bands I listen to will also be recognised with time. ROCK N ROLL WILL NEVER FUCKING DIE.

I am "only" 9 years older than you and from my experience it is kind of hard to find younger people, especially Gen Z (how they are called) who are rock fans. With Millennials and older it is a bit different though. What I never understood it why Rock disappeared from the mainstream area. I do love pop music but in my eyes pop music declined and is getting worse. I guess a lot of us are pleased that Maneskin won and that Rock music is again there where it belongs. Also it is a nice new breeze of fresh air. I hope the 20s of this century will be full of different genres again, like the 90s used to be :D

Over a year later, I’m still crying from joy after seeing their performance. Their reaction for the win was absolutely priceless and I love them from the bottom of my heart.
I can't stop watching this, it's a drug. Not only cause they are good but also cause you can feel what they are feeling from their energy and their smiles. They are so young and few years ago they were used to play in the streets of Rome. In this moment they realize their childhood's dream become true, now they are famous rockstars.

It's so pleasing to hear Damiano sing the original version, freed from any restriction in terms of use of the words and the way Ethan, Thomas and Victoria are performing on the stage with such energy is just heartwarming. SIde note: it's time we bring back a live orchestra and allow everyone to play live music instead of using pre-recorded tracks, isn't it? I bet both the artists and the spectators would enjoy everything even more

Honestly, this year's contest was the best eurovision in ages!! The diversity of genres and languages was amazing, I mean two rock songs in top 10, half of the songs from top 10 aren't in english and the winner is a rock song in italian?! The two years of waiting was worth of this all. (Also as a finn I am so f*cking PROUD of Blind Channel!)
Starting from second semi-Final, when all the audience was shouting "FINLAND! FINLAND!" i was crying for the moment. Blind Channel are just amazing. Never had so good rock songs in all ESC. And amazing moment when BC were singing Zitti e Buoni in finnish!!!

I live in the town area where they grew up: they pursued boldy their dreams starting fron school choir, later playing in the streets. Victory fully deserved.
I worked in central Rome several years a go and I think I spotted them once along the road, playing and getting pennies from walkers. They were surprisingly good, I thought, but I would never imagine they would win the ESC some years later!!!

As a rock fan who grew up on classic rock bands like AC/DC and Kiss, I'm honestly happy a stomping song like this won the contest! They carry the classic 80s rock vibe and carry it proud! Well done!!
For me their outfits are 80s, but their style sounds very 90s, their sound gives me very similar to Franz Ferdinand's Take me Out. But yeah, I am so happy a rock song won ESC! And this comes from someone who grew up with Led Zeppelin, Queen, U2, G&R, Metallica, Iron Maiden etc.

I was in tears, when I read that KISS announced their final tour ever, knowing there would never be a band as cool as them. When I saw Maneskin, I remembered about that moment, thinking: huh, there still is good rock music, maybe it's not all lost.

I love how Ethan was holding it all in when the results were announced by zoning out for a bit. And that puffed out face when he held the award. He was really doing his best not to get emotional like his bandmates.
Some people seem to not realize this is actually top notch musicianship. All of a sudden, we're starting to see some really cool and creative acts on Eurovision. And if they're gonna start rewarding classy bands like this every year, I'll never stop watching it. From day one, I thought these guys were one cut above the rest. Glad to see the public thought so too. By the way, I voted for them here in Portugal. Money well spent.
I said it on the night, these guys went out there like everyone else was just warming up for them. They were playing like it was their own concert. To have a song win with this passion, written by the band, with great meaning to them - it deserved every point it got and more.
@Luke Stephens they started the band in 2016, won X-Factor Italy and have been selling a lot from then on. In 2018 they had their first Euro tour and every show was sold-out. In 2018. So, maybe it will take a bit longer than a year.

Well, in 2018 their first album got number 1 in the Italian chart, with their singles reaching number 1 and 2 as well, and now, 3 years later, they won Sanremo and Eurovision. To me it looks like a pretty strong start, as they are all very young and talented, and I believe that they will keep releasing good music in the next years

At the start the ESC version it's "vi conviene non fare più errori" but the original version is "vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni", at the end at the third "parla, la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di che cosa parla" in the originale version says "parla, la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di che cazzo parla"

No one is gonna read this but, I don’t think people understand how important it actually is for us young rock fans to have a band like Måneskin finally coming out of the dark. I’m 21 years old and been a rock fan ever since I was 15, I of course mostly listen to old school bands from the 70s/80s and 90s. Now to say that I can FINALLY relate to a band with people of my own age is something I thought would never happen. There’s a lot of talented modern rock bands out there, but none of them made it to the top like Måneskin ( Greta Van Fleet kinda did but they’re not really original ) and it’s only the beginning for them. It’s truly incredible that in 2021 rock music is starting to come back to life. I hope those other bands I listen to will also be recognised with time. ROCK N ROLL WILL NEVER FUCKING DIE.

I am "only" 9 years older than you and from my experience it is kind of hard to find younger people, especially Gen Z (how they are called) who are rock fans. With Millennials and older it is a bit different though. What I never understood it why Rock disappeared from the mainstream area. I do love pop music but in my eyes pop music declined and is getting worse.
I guess a lot of us are pleased that Maneskin won and that Rock music is again there where it belongs. Also it is a nice new breeze of fresh air. I hope the 20s of this century will be full of different genres again, like the 90s used to be :D

I can't stop watching this, it's a drug. Not only cause they are good but also cause you can feel what they are feeling from their energy and their smiles. They are so young and few years ago they were used to play in the streets of Rome. In this moment they realize their childhood's dream become true, now they are famous rockstars.

I live in the town area where they grew up: they pursued boldy their dreams starting fron school choir, later playing in the streets. Victory fully deserved.
I worked in central Rome several years a go and I think I spotted them once along the road, playing and getting pennies from walkers. They were surprisingly good, I thought, but I would never imagine they would win the ESC some years later!!!

As a rock fan who grew up on classic rock bands like AC/DC and Kiss, I'm honestly happy a stomping song like this won the contest! They carry the classic 80s rock vibe and carry it proud! Well done!!
For me their outfits are 80s, but their style sounds very 90s, their sound gives me very similar to Franz Ferdinand's Take me Out. But yeah, I am so happy a rock song won ESC! And this comes from someone who grew up with Led Zeppelin, Queen, U2, G&R, Metallica, Iron Maiden etc.

Some people seem to not realize this is actually top notch musicianship. All of a sudden, we're starting to see some really cool and creative acts on Eurovision. And if they're gonna start rewarding classy bands like this every year, I'll never stop watching it. From day one, I thought these guys were one cut above the rest. Glad to see the public thought so too. By the way, I voted for them here in Portugal. Money well spent.
I said it on the night, these guys went out there like everyone else was just warming up for them. They were playing like it was their own concert. To have a song win with this passion, written by the band, with great meaning to them - it deserved every point it got and more.
@Luke Stephens they started the band in 2016, won X-Factor Italy and have been selling a lot from then on. In 2018 they had their first Euro tour and every show was sold-out. In 2018. So, maybe it will take a bit longer than a year.
@@andreaferrigno they didn't win X Factor Italy, Lorenzo Licitra did and they came second place, but honestly most people (me included) assume they did and rightfully so.

@Luke Stephens People said the same thing you are saying after they got second place at X-Factor in Italy (back in 2016-17). Well, in 2018 their first album got number 1 in the Italian chart, with their singles reaching number 1 and 2 as well, and now, 3 years later, they won Sanremo and Eurovision.
To me it looks like a pretty strong start, as they are all very young and talented, and I believe that they will keep releasing good music in the next years

@@vimashi_art they told them to censored the version for eurovision in two points of the song. At the start the ESC version it's "vi conviene non fare più errori" but the original version is "vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni", at the end at the third "parla, la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di che cosa parla" in the originale version says "parla, la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di che cazzo parla"
