Dorian leaving Dariax behind signified the real end of the Crown Keepers. Opal may be doomed from the start and Fy'ra had joined her, but Dorian seeing his biggest fear manifested and having the start of a character change really breaks away from how that party started.
I hope Dariax doesn't hold a grudge against him. He's a pure soul.
