@goddessshadow2023 A remake will be much better human, the game is nice but at it time some didn't really adopt to it , but with today's technology ehrgiez will be a hit.
Never knew how much was removed or changed for the PSX version. The cutscenes between rounds, Django after he’s defeated, heck even the weapons in the glass boxes.
Also the fluid motion was lost. When I got it for PS1 I played it for about an hour; returned it and went back to the arcade to play it. PS1 wasn't horrible but it just wasn't the same as the arcade.
Recon 0326 too bad they didn’t make a port for the Dreamcast or PS2. They definitely would’ve improved it. Just look at Soul Calibur and Tekken Tag Tournament.
@@icekokoro2708 Many people I met that knew this game never played it on arcade so they often ask me what I'm talking about when I say "fluid motion" My best reference is " play Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore on the PS2. That's how fluid the arcade was"
I still have my PSX disc. Forgot how beautiful this game was. I wish Namco brought GodHand into Tekken with his own spin on the Mishima Style, like a combo of T2 Heihachi and TTT Jin with Kazuya's TTT WGF properties... beast mode. This game was SO underrated and addicting. The Dungeon mode was my favorite part of waking up in the summer when I was 15!
That sound effect puzzled me for *one decade and a half* bc i played this literally once and all i could remember was that and the random boxes on the ring But i've finally found the game
it literally took me 14 years to find this game i've only played *ONCE* with my lil sis at an hotel during summer vacations I only remembered the "SASASASA" sound effect..finally,i found it
I found an arcade cabinet of this in some old mans garage (once used to be an arcade back in early 2000's i guess) I'm thinking of buying the thing for my room its a pretty cool piece
@@RossJr8604 The fluid motion of the arcade was lost too. I remember both versions and PS1 wasn't terrible; but I immediately noticed the graphical and response differences
This is a game that I somehow have memories of, without knowing anything about it.....not even the name. I found this video by typing " fighting game with Cloud as a guest character". I suppose I could have seen it in an arcade somewhere as a kid.....🤔
Getting used with the PS1 version so much, I find it incredibly jarring to listen to Yoko and Cloud here due to their voices having higher pitches. Still baffled with the fact Cloud and Zack sound the same in the PS1 version when they're supposed to have different voice actors too.
im surprised this wasnt longer because there is that adventure mode. That section was way more fun than the fighting stuff. (Edit) - just realized this is a arcade version....never knew there was a arcade version.
+Alex Moreno this was at a time when FF7 was really huge and FF8 hasnt come out yet. Or if FF8 was out FF7 was still more popular. Also this is a Square game.
This game had about four characters to select from which is too few by even the standards of that time and the game wasn't that good yet I remember everything in it so vividly. Idk why.
why this game doesnt have a sequel, and why cloud and tifa had a name guardian & summoner, not their name, i thought godhand is young kazuya or heihachi or jinpachi, actually not, the real name is mishima ken (is he have relationship with kazama & mishima's blood, if yes, is he have a devil part, like jin, jinpachi, jun, and kazuya), actually he shares seiyuu with kazuya in ps1 (from tekken 1 until tag tournament), he's name is george nakata
@Kiavala Justiphi's [DeathDrive mk-VII] Psone Captain Commando? It was just a port of the arcade, didn't look better or worse but it had more slowdowns on the 4 player mode than the original Arcade. So it was in fact, slighty inferior to the arcade.
+Jorge Mateus: No... It was published by the same people who did Tekken. It's not a bad fighter... the arcade version just didn't have much compared to the home version where Square added the FF VII stars and the quest and the mini games.
There's two FF VII characters in the arcade version, which is just Cloud and Tifa. More were added in the home version. And technically, yes this is a Namco game... but the only the arcade version though. Square did the home version.
His last name is indeed Mishima, you can Google that. So it makes him related to Kazuya(like Lars),as either an uncle, cousin or another half brother. the absence of the Devil gene is a giant red flag of being a possible cousin or half brother.
i think FF characters killed this game at the time. nobody liked them in the arcades and got confused. no wonder why it was not turned into a series. too much generic.
stormxjp It failed because there were too many things stuffed in while everyone was already comfortable with the 2d style of other fighting games. Also the characters aren't that original or memorable and it plays similar to tekken a bit much. Some people thought it was a rip off and didn't know how to play it properly (though it's a great game that does have combos and other things many don't know about. Hell some people didn't even know you could walk to lock on to your opponent and make the movement better) As for FF7, I'm pretty sure Ehrgeiz would have gotten lower sales due to what I mentioned above. No one cared much for the original characters like they do for other fighters. They got very desperate afterwards.
Man the late 90s charm exuding from this game is immeasurable
Especially with the theme of Yoko's stage
We definitely need a remake of this one.
@goddessshadow2023 A remake will be much better human, the game is nice but at it time some didn't really adopt to it , but with today's technology ehrgiez will be a hit.
He doesn't just look and fight like Kazuya, he's voiced by the same person! (The original voice for Kazuya). Listen @ 1:07. Exact same grunt.
Only difference is that he has Jin's hairstyle.
Played the demo disc into dust replaying this with my brother. Absolutely killer game.
The official PlayStation magazine demo? lol.. I miss those days.

It's like I always wanted, a Tekken x Bloody Roar x Final Fantasy fighting game
Leomagus not going to happen.
LOL yeah right!
Why is Kazuya's hair bleached?
Plus some Power Stone thrown in for good measure! But this actually came before PS, hmm...
Yes!
It's so funny the char running after that matches, like he had some very important thing to do and hurry!

Better than another stupid unbalanced Street Fighter-esque character
Street Fighter is always better
Geese ftw
Is guardian cloud strife??
Wow. As a kid playing this game, I never figured out what to do during that last battle with the credits rolling. What an odd fight.
Godhand is oxygenated Kazuya
It's crazy to me that a game this obscure has guest fighters in its first and only entry.

Kazuya: Lee Chaolan transform into Violet to get into Tekken 4, I oxygenated my hair to get into this tournament...now I need a new name...GODHAND
"Oh yeah and I forgot! Steal Kazuya's moves and shoot guns; throw grenades and stuff too!"
So God hand is a combination of Kazuya, Baek, Bryan fury and ken masters and berret from ffVII
I already knew about Cloud and Tifa being in the game but I never thought they would add Red XIII... I mean Grey XIII... aka Django :p
Ehrgeiz. A very "misterious" sword indeed...
Square Enix needs to make a reboot!
Prince Doza is Nazeem in the arcade version 👍.
They should bring this on the PlayStation network
i have been looking for this game forever! i never knew the name of it
how do i select django in arcade mode?

*snickers* Gun Vs Sword ..... that definitely seemed fair.
The only thing missing in this game is having up to 4 players and an Adventure Mode.
