It was actually my first introduction to the character Cloud, though I wouldn't realize what he was originally from until much later (I still mostly played as him, that sword was awesome). I got so good at that game, I dominated the ENTIRE high score list. My first name is three letters too, so you just saw a long list of "Ian" repeated over and over again.

I remember how the owner of this arcade I visit frequently would open up the machines and put in the codes to get all the characters on Ehrgeiz and other games there before he left every morning. This game was ahead of its time. I remember playing the demo for this with my friends. It was on a demo disk that came with a magazine my mom would get. I was like 7 and my mom bought the full game for me for Christmas that year. God I miss this game.
Like some who have commented here, I'm also one of the extremely few people in this planet who first got exposed to FF7 characters through this game. I first saw FF7 via a neighbor's playthrough and I was like, "Oh, it's those guys from Ehrgeiz!", "Where is Godhand?", and I just remembered my buddies giving me that "what the fck are you talking about?" facial expressions lmao.
@@HamanKarn567 this game existed simultaneously with tekken, it was sick ass game that included a dungeon crawler, literally a cross between all early squaresoft games, time crisis i believe maybe not sure could be wrong and ff7 and some other early square soft games as well, cool as hell if you think of ff7 characters running through dungeon crawling then when you get bored you can pass your buddy a controller and 1 v1 them in a streetfighter type match! that was grade a content on that game back then.
I had to ride my bike twice to the mall to get this game. First time I was exactly a dollar short!! So I had to ride 10 miles back home and then ten miles back and on the way back home after finally getting the game, I was riding a 10 speed and the chained popped off and I lost control and ran into a big concrete block and flipped over the bike and then the bike whacked me in the head. Kids today will never know the dedication you had to have if you wanted something then you had to go and get it and not just handed to you!!
