I found it difficult to find the low point infront of the ball, until I focused on trying to hit the ball forward and not up, and start relying on the loft to get it airborne. Your body is clever and the movement you describe in this video becomes a lot more natural when you stop trying to hit the ball in the air.
This is so good. My instructor had me on this for the last year and took me from a 9 to a 4.5. No more weak push cuts, quality of strike is way better.
high handicapper here....I found myself fooling around with this by accident the other day... great to see that I was actually on to something... now I can try to actually work it into my game...thank you...
Yes, great tip....simple and straight forward, just have to implement it, which is always my challenge! Thanks
Stick with it
@@AliTaylorGolf does the same shift forward applies to the driver?
@@simmmomom Yes
Been trying to do this lately and it's started helping me make better contact. Thanks!
60 years old. I was a decent athlete when young.
I have struggled for years from hitting the ball fat.
I thought it all was from releasing to early.
No matter what I did. I hit it fat.
Flash back 30 to 40 years ago. Don't slide your hips, it makes you slice.
In recent months after watching many videos including yours.
The left hip must shift left of your left foot to move the bottom of the swing forward.
There is always hope for next year.
Now if I could just putt a little better. Hmmmmm
I like the word shifting left hip. But not opening it until after impact. For me hips shoulders are all square for that split second of impact then belt buckle to target into follow through.
Hitting off a mat accentuates the problem.and the solution
Thanks
I look a ball ahead - works perfectly for me 😁 but I feel I’m pushing a broomstick forward as I hit that ball
Problem with mats is the low point hurts 😇
That's a good tip that works for me
use to be a plus handicap and still chunk the crap outta it couple times a round.
it's mostly the lie and weight shift and not rotating enough.
would be great to see this taken on different lies on the course and how to compress it on a whooping downslope haha!
cheers
Great advice and makes sense. Gotta take it to the range to lock in a feel for it & to see results!!!
Yes, perfectly putt. All feelings.
Do you have to hit the ground at all? Is it not better if the club head slide under the ball?I mean the shallow divot is under the ball ,not before or after the ball.
@@douglasgyiafter the ball
So insightful and practical, thanks
If you were using a pitching wedge trying to hit it 130 yds would you do the same
Great advice and something that really works if you can resist the urge to strike the ball. Where would you suggest doing the practice swings to get this feeling when actually playing?
Can it cause a problem with early extension?
All great stuff!!! Thank You
So many video about this alrwady. Can u make a video about the low pt that is half inch closer to farer away from u. That’s hitting or missing the sweet spot. But no one makes a video about that. Is just as important as hitting it fat or thin
This changes when the lie is not perfectly flat though. I’ve found it’s much different where you put your weight and even the swing when it’s a ball above or below your feet, or a downhill lie, etc. This stuff seems to go out the window a bit cause I feel off balance when I try to get the hip rotation.
When I bump my hip forward. I have trouble hitting the ball right
I haven't tried it yet but would expect to block the ball to the right (getting ahead of it). Are there any alterations needed to prevent this when changing to bottom out ahead of the ball?
Thinning, topping, chili dipping, slice, pull, duff, and whiff. Have I covered it?
Great tip thanks
Dry good. Sadly the advert ruined my concentration on your key teaching point. Why allow it in the middle? Front or back of the video.
Yes, at best my low point is at the ball, at worst its very fat.
Yep, that’s me
I'm one of those golfers 🤣
Because all tour pros hit it exactly the same ?
Think you fixed a fundamental problem I have had for 30 years. 🎉
