When we were there in October 2019, there were no bottles for sale in the Springbank shop. You had to go to the Cadenhead shop to purchase Springbank bottlings, so it's nice to see bottles for sale. I remember also being a bit frustrated that I couldn't purchase a coat with the Springbank logo as it was for members only. However, after chatting for some time, the shop manager agreed to sell me one of the worker's style coats with the logo over the shoulder for a reduced price. I agreed immediately. After that, he took us for a private tour of Glengyle which was wonderful. Happy memories. Please G-d we will be back in October this year.
Glad to have had the chance for once or twice to have been able to try some of those insanely good bottles of that glass cabinets ! Thanks for sharing the view on them !
Fantastic tour - the ambience was notably distinct, lighting and ambient sound very atmospheric indeed. Thanks for this treat - well worth the wait! 👍🏻
Hi ! Question! How many bottles am I allowed to bring back to the states? My wife and I are going but we never bought whiskeys from another country. We’ll have two checked bags each and one carry ons
We brought 27 bottles back through san francisco. There is no limit as long as you declare them on arrival. The duty is only a few dollars per litre of spirit. But there are bag limits for the plane. No more than 5 Litre of spirit per checked bag per person I think. We did not know that but the bags get heavy fast if you put 5-7 bottles in one bag. I do not know if other states have different rules from CA
Great Video. Great Distillery and a great Shop as well. I would like to play the "have you got one on the shelf game". A few years ago I bought some Longrow 14 at the auction (3min 33sec, green box) And next to it I bought also a few Longrow 10 Vintages at the auction a few years ago. The Distillery Only minatures from the tour I got also 🙂 Oh and at 5 mins I also got a 5cl Jug of Springbank 12 with 43% from the auction. Cheers. Stefan
Stefan, I bought one of those green box Longrow 14s at auction a few years ago too. I remember feeling a little silly for bidding £75 for it. Then I opened it, tasted it and no longer felt silly haha! Think it's going for nearly three times that at auction now! One of my favourite bottles I've owned but it can't be worth over £200
@@GTJWilding Yeah, I got them for around 100 Euro at the auction. Think that is a okay price to enjoy them. If i would bring all my Springbank/Longrow/Hazelburn back to the auction which I bought before the hype, I would get way more money back. But then I could not enjoy some of these in the future cause you are not able to buy the new releases or they not affordable for drinking. Happy to have a great Whisky stock in general for the future, with some Springbank too, thanks to the auction. Stay safe, healthy and happy. Cheers Gabriel 🙂
At least they have most of the core range on the shelf....I haven't seen that in quite some time! It's sad that they had to say "1 per customer per week" on the cage bottles, they must be so tired of all the flippers trying to make a buck.....

I think I drooled a little looking at those bottles!
A magic cabinet...That you need
Mission accomplished. I was worried, glad you're fully up and about. and living the dream!
Cheers
It is great, to see you out and about again! And to be at SB … after all this anticipation-destruction!
Have Fun!
It was a long wait

Wow, with these disappearing in front of your eyes it is more of a museum than a shop! Wonder what the Kilkerren Distillery was.
There is no shop at Glengyle (Kilkerran)
@@WhiskyMystery sorry meant to big fill your own bottle jug in the shop. Bet it was a dream 👌
@@JeffWhisky Ah yes The Jugs were great value £55
Great share. Hope you are enjoying your tour.
Cheers
Was it 2 per customer for the whole shop no matter what bottles you buy or just a limit on specific bottles?
Different rules per bottle. Some were unlimited.
If you turn up on a random day is the core range always available?
No. 10 probably but no guarantee of the others I saw no 18
With such bright light shining on those old btls, will that affect the precious liquid inside in the long run?
Oh no. Nothing like sunlight
I wonder how much different the new Kilkerran 12 is. Besides the higher price tag. :)
Still haven tried the old one :-)
did you bob into the washback bar and check the whisky menu?
See other video 😀
CONGRATS! You made it! Enjoy! Take lots of video ;-D
Cheers
Are you sure that was not Mike and Narbe's whisky closet at the end?
Haha yes
Can you help me to buy two bottle 10years and one bottle 15years because now it’s very difficult to buy it🙇🏻
Even this distillery only sells one per customer
Understood thank you very much
They don't sell anything more than Springbank 15 yr in the shop, do they?
They do but it sells out very fast
Get anything from the cage? That Hazelburn looked very lonely!!
Coming soon
The prices seem pretty decent, didn’t you get an itch to buy something?
Maybe

@@WhiskyMystery Thanks 🙂And the best of it is that I bought them way before the hype after I was there.
Sometimes we get lucky
That Longrow demijohn looks good 😁
Wrong color :-)
Glad to see you out and enjoying yourself. Did you want to back up the lorry?
haha yes
Damn that is good value!
Yeah

Yeah hard to manage that well
I’m going to need to bring a very large suitcase to Scotland
Only one?
@@WhiskyMystery yeah good point. I’d better bring an empty coffin with me.
Haha
Auctions whisky indeed.
Grab us some bottles so I don't have to mission up from England mate ;)
haha
Look for the key to the cabinets! Lol
:-)
2 each per customer... Yes please, I'll bring the car around.
with friends
So basically they got nothing
