Pretty Exciting to finally see most of the Versetta Stone get installed and start seeing some Metal Siding go up! Lot's of questions about the Dewalt Coil Nailer...and it's still going strong. Check it out here! imp.i284638.net/JDdv2
Speaking from 40+ years of experience as a general contractor, you guys are total pro's. The materials and techniques of construction that you use are state of the art. You are building at the best time in the history of construction in that you have the best materials, the best tools and you are in the prime of your life to perform this work. You are also a great teacher and your video production is good enough to make me keep watching. Thank you Kyle and Greg, the relationship you have together is priceless!
Kyle the workmanship is second to none, come to the uk and teach Uk tradesman your skills, here it’s simply do a job as quick as possible to earn cash. I love your attention to detail and you put the quality first your customers are so lucky. Well done.
Its always the attention to detail no matter how small it is that makes all the difference waching these video's has definitely made my jobs much better
I like your helpers comment - well it's not perfect perfect beautiful work. I have always been told to plan the work and work the plan You have mastered that
1) Happy birthday for your son. 2) Congrets uncle 3) Sorry to say this but FUDGE this building looks awesome. Keep it up, looking forward for the next episode.
The corner does look ok now that I've seen it finished. At first I thought staggering them was a bad idea, but after you finished, it does look better and seems to blend just fine. That stone looks awesome.
With Ryan's ruclips.net/user/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE plan I was like one taken by the hand and led step by step from start to finish. Thank you very much Ryan!
Kyle, I know the exact feeling of when material is flying up, and it's like "Just one more piece.", but you have to be somewhere in an hour. Must be a carpenter thing. Looking real nice guys.
Good to see you guys at work and it is always fun to watch you guys work.. say happy B'day to your son and congratulation to the new baby parents and to you too.. see you guys on the next one, be safe and happy long weekend..!!
You have been talking since the start about this Rosetta stone, you certainly do not disappoint. It's a great finish that you are doing. Also, happy birthday to the boy!
Is that an f15 throttling down in the background? Nope just a DEWALT nailer! That makes me laugh all the time. I love the look of the stone siding. I’m excited to see this building all finished.
Thank you for these videos. Just did about 140sq/ft of this stuff and it came out great! Picked up a few tips and tricks of my own too. I love what you do man, I wish you were closer, I'd LOVE to work for you. Some day I hope to be as big as you are my friend.
Curious .. Since Greg rents the small house Kyle bought some time back, does Kyle hand Greg a check at the beginning of every month and then Greg hand it right back for rent. Obviously exaggerated thought since I’m guessing rent is cheap in Illinois so hopefully Greg gets a monster paycheck . Made me think “math never lies” Have your employee be your tenant too!! Math never does lie. All kidding aside though. I think Kyle is a pretty decent role model in a lot of ways and it’s good he promotes math for its practical uses and for good.... unlike the Wall Street derivatives guys who are all about greed. Kyle is good for viewers and somewhat inspiring ...
The stone installs quick, straight and looks great. Having a hard time with the corners though, however I do buy you argument that others generally will not notice once the bigger picture emerges.
All caught up from the first episode! Amazing to see your work! Inspires me to get involved in some way with a small awesome crew. Looks very fulfilling. Thanks for keeping it going!!
Once you accept the fact - stone look panels are decorative, they are not and will not replace stone veneer walls. OH! that's right, stone veneer isn't really a full depth stone wall ( that would be a castle ). IF IT LOOKS GOOD IT IS GOOD. The Versetta stone walls LOOK GREAT. Your craftsmanship is always top notch. Both of you should be congratulated. I always look forward to your next video. Thanks and take care all.
I must say myself. I never been a fan of the fake stone siding. They just look fake. I as well was cringing a bit in my mind about the corners as it just looks as if part of the product line is missing...the corners and instead it was just put together like that. I don't agree as well that "craft specialists" complain about fake stone siding because they are scared to lose their trade.. the fact is that it remains fake stone siding. Having that said.. i do really like this combination with the steel color. It looks really good. I as well understand very well that not every building can just have a hand crafted stone layer as it is very expensive. Anyhow, it just fits for the type of building and I am converted.
Im with you it looks really cool its just a shame its not made with a interlocking system instead of straight edge (side) but like you said if you don`t` know what you are looking for what does it matter it does look really great..Stay Safe guys
I think the corners looks great given the material you have to work with. Many have posted about mitre corners, etc but ideally the company should make/provide a corner piece similar to vinyl siding to create a nicer transition. It's a manufactured product, you have to work with what you got.
Hopefully Greg said you could go early 😉 and happy birthday to the “not so little man”. One thing I noticed, you really need to pick up the strapping band and bin it as soon as you can!! Massive trip hazard, stay safe guys 👍🏼
I really like the overall look of versetta stone but wish they could come up with something better for the corners. It is a weak point especially for the price. With that said, you do amazing work and my family and I really enjoy watching your channel!
The corner looks fine, especially when it's completed up to the drip cap. Like you said, if someone doesn't know what their looking for then they won't notice the staggard end cuts
Well IMHO by interleaving the corner pieces so that one side sticks out and then the next row the other wall side sticks out tends to bury the illusion that this is full stone. By revealing the thinness of the stone layer you cheapen the look and really wrecks the impression of a full depth stone. I think that by picking ONE side only you preserve in the impression of set stone. The alternating step back telegraphs that it is thin stone veneer. I know the guy from Versetta is the "technical expert" but I do think he is wrong on this concept. Well IMHO anyways
I have never used versetta stone, but I have used other manufactured stone similar to it. In order to preserve the look of depth to the stone, I mitered the corners and used the same piece of stone to wrap around the corner. Fit properly, it can make the thin stone appear to be very thick. It’s not perfect, but in my opinion looks much better than seeing the thin Edges on corners.
Well that’s clever. Where you cut the stone piece the matching cut off portion gets returned on the other wall corner . Not sure RR saw can cut miters though. I have also seen another product similar to versetta tha has corner pieces where the return is a 2-3 inch wrap around so it looks like a thick stone once applied.
Stephen Sheren clever idea. So the stone you cut you miter and weep the matching portions around the corner. Not sure RR saw can do miters . Have seen other products where the outside corners come with a deep return that wraps around the corner making the stone look legit.
I'm hoping DeWalt eventually ditches the flywheel for the smaller gauge nailers and go towards gas compression. The 18G brand nailer looses a lot of driving power from recoil when the wheel contacts the striking shaft. Beyond that, the roofer seems to be the best nailer in the line. Recent faux stone looks so good now.
I like the Rosetta Stone, but I’m not a fan of “weaving” the corners. Makes the 3 panel system stand out whereas if it were butted straight up on one side, I think it would look more natural.
Was there a reason the felt paper was taped on other sections but not at around the section at 19:00? (You've got the flashing going on as well, so it seems like it should all be find and I'm just curious.)
Just a suggestion... run a strip of waterproof tuck tape half on the house wrap and half on the metal z flashing so that any water running down the wall under the metal siding will not be able to get under the z flashing?
This would be a lot of work with that stone but I wonder if u did say a rabbit joint at the corner so it wasn’t as noticeable. Just something I was thinking about while I was watching u install that stone. Either way great job as always and I really enjoy watching ur videos. ✌️
Is there no need to install trim around the windows where the Versetta stone terminates into it? Just a drip flash on top of the ledge and run J around the window above the ledge where the metal panels will be? Doing a barndo for a customer and we're installing Versetta stone wainscot around the perimeter. Probably do a 40" wainscot with 4050 windows that will set into the wainscot 4-6".
Pretty Exciting to finally see most of the Versetta Stone get installed and start seeing some Metal Siding go up! Lot's of questions about the Dewalt Coil Nailer...and it's still going strong. Check it out here! imp.i284638.net/JDdv2
RR Buildings do you get a bulk discount on the stuff. I can only find it for 9$ a sq ft.
Little experiment, Try marrying One Cut Piece together on the corner end, it might give the illusion of One Stone.
since you left early we need a 45 min video next ... great work ..
So why not use the new Milwaukee nailer ... not enough nail payload
@@av1204 where do you find it that cheap?

You two work together well, the humor cracks me up, plus I learn quite a few things the way Kyle explains everything
10:53 the eye candy is so good on this show. 15:28 I could watch that over and over.
Congrats uncle don’t know how many times lol
N happy birthday little Kyle. Many years of fun learning from dad n mom
Thanks for posting
Looks great. Happy birthday to your son. Congrats to your brother. Very nice work Greg.

The Versetta Stone, the black windows, and the color of the siding looks great! Nice combination of colors.

Awesome job guys. You guys are now in charge of all building in USA.
That is a beautiful color combo. Now I have building envy. 👍
Great choice of metal siding color. Goes very well with the stone.
I swear I'm going to start a " Greg" fan club. You go dude
bummer live video is over ..thanks for describing your
great work guys
What’s up Kyle I am super excited to see the siding go up!
Happy birthday! Prolific family! 😁👏👏👏👍🇺🇸
That’s going to be an awesome build when your done..It’s been great to see the progress
I like the color combination between the stone, steel and windows.
"Imperfection is what makes it look perfect..you know you can apply that to life..”

Love it man!
Great job on the 411 for the short veneer stone stacking.
The stone installs quick, straight and looks great. Having a hard time with the corners though, however I do buy you argument that others generally will not notice once the bigger picture emerges.
Love the stone and metal combo! Very attractive.
Congrats on the next Uncle status. And Happy another year to Kole! Welcome to the teenage times!!
Happy Birthday to your son and congrats on your renewed uncle card! :D

Is it bad that I get mad when an episode is over? I’ve really enjoyed this build. Keep up the good work!
Big fan of the channel, I'm currently building my own post frame house 🍻
that's awesome
Kyle & Greg are the best !!
The stone turned out great 👍
Keep working hard 💪
Stay Safe & GodBless
That stone wall looks nice!
Thanks peter
That colour combo is pretty sharp.
Versetta,
Let’s design a corner wrap, 6” and 12” staggers to make this corner detail better
Congratulations to the whole family!
Love the Math Never Lies shirt!

So the Mack truck stuff.... that’s why I love Greg!!! 😂😂😂
Stone looks awesome man!!
You guys do great work! The Versetta stone looks amazing.
Just a curious question. Does the manufacturer of the versetta stone not make corner pieces? Would that not make it even easier and even neater?
Agreed. Those corners look like shit.
Ditto!
Pretty sure this was answered in the video
Congrats for becoming uncle for the 20th time.
Great job!
Nice job guy's, stone work looks sweet.

Always great seeing the steel go up...woohoo.
Shame the Versetta Stone do not produce a corner stone, at 45 degrees, would make life so much easier.
It’s unfathomable that they don’t, frankly
Can't you cut it that way?
Or even better would be moulded 90 degree corners.... Can't believe they don't
@@chuckstith838 you could as long as you cut them from the same piece so the stones line up, still may not look so good
It’s random coursing, a corner stone would stick out like a sore thumb.
I think the corners looks great given the material you have to work with. Many have posted about mitre corners, etc but ideally the company should make/provide a corner piece similar to vinyl siding to create a nicer transition. It's a manufactured product, you have to work with what you got.
Greg singing 😂😂
I was scrolling to see if anyone was going to mention it 😂😂
Singing that degenerate, ugly, disgusting song.
Sorry, had to say it.
Kyle:
> You don't really mean that
LOL
Hopefully Greg said you could go early 😉 and happy birthday to the “not so little man”.
One thing I noticed, you really need to pick up the strapping band and bin it as soon as you can!! Massive trip hazard, stay safe guys 👍🏼

All best for u and ur perfect work from polish carpenter:) its Nice to learn some new ideas
Ive watched so many videos that im pratically an unqualified carpenter
What kind of Versetta stone did you use? Is it Ledge stone - Plum Creek?
The corner looks fine, especially when it's completed up to the drip cap. Like you said, if someone doesn't know what their looking for then they won't notice the staggard end cuts

Came here to find someone saying this, agreed 100%
A lot of extra steps to measure for that short piece at 10:46. Just flip it over and measure. Your method works fine too.
It's hard to believe they don't have manufactured outside corners, it would elevate the whole look of the stone a 100%.
I'm hoping DeWalt eventually ditches the flywheel for the smaller gauge nailers and go towards gas compression. Yeah I don’t like the weaved corner. Looks too much like Lincoln logs. I think the straight run of butt ends would be better.
I think the corners look good. The thought process going into figuring out the whole thing would probably make my brain explode. Lol
Was there a reason the felt paper was taped on other sections but not at around the section at 19:00?
(You've got the flashing going on as well, so it seems like it should all be find and I'm just curious.)
That "cabin" is a MONSTA !
Couldn’t you cut out the middle of a panel for the 26” section to keep the ends looking good?
perfect job
BRAVO! Good jab mes salutations
Kyle...how are hose bibs and receptacles handled in the stone?
You guys do solid work but man did Versetta Stone mail it in when they designed those "corners".
Just a suggestion... run a strip of waterproof tuck tape half on the house wrap and half on the metal z flashing so that any water running down the wall under the metal siding will not be able to get under the z flashing?
There won’t be any water there?
that stone work looks great and congratulations on being a uncle

Wish you guys were over here in the UK - would love to work with you on a project.
Versetta reminds me of Formstone from the 1950's, you either loved it or hated it, I'm leaning towards hating both.
7:30 damn Greg, that's deep
Great video guys. Are you able to show an installation for an outside corner that is like 120-degrees?
"Greg, you don't really mean that, do you?" Lol!
Is there no need to install trim around the windows where the Versetta stone terminates into it? Just a drip flash on top of the ledge and run J around the window above the ledge where the metal panels will be? Dang, it looks good.
What is the strip at the bottom that you set the first row on? Is it necessary?
That's the starter strip for versetta stone
Try an enhancing sealer on the cut ends, could definitely help bring out the true color. Test it on scrap first obviously
Love that stone! How does Versetta stone compare to regular stone? The installation seems like the biggest pro for versetta.
