It's been played all over the place every Christmas season for 66 years! Elvis recorded both of those songs in 1957 & the original studio versions are what you need to hear. Believe it or not-this was a "studio jam" and was not planned as an album track it just happened as they were working up Christmas songs for his second Christmas album. Which is why Elvis kept repeating the same lyrics over and over. When Elvis was digging a jam he just kept going-he loved the surprise of what his musicians would do musically and they loved the surprise of how Elvis would change his vocal.
I also love Elvis’s version of White Christmas more than the Bing Crosby version….Elvis’s interpretation is so unique and he does so things with his vocals-it’s amazing!
Believe me, I am a devout Elvis fan. Maybe because I also grew up watching , and listening to Bing singing, “White Christmas”, I prefer his. I wish you knew how hard that is for me to say!

Elvis was born in blues and soul country. He grew up in Mississippi and Memphis! It was in his blood! I grew up in Mississippi 50 miles from Elvis’ birthplace and have lived in Memphis all my adult life. My Dad had a country/ blues band. This sounds like my Dad’s music.
