Your cat is a passive co-star in the background, Patty,👌 Thanks a lot for giving us the edifying benefits of your personal experience, and knowledge that you’ve acquired in your years of living in Panamá!👍
Patty, thank you so much for your honesty. You are the best 🎉 I really appreciate you for inside information that could help avoid dramatic mistakes. It happened to us in Ecuador. We decided to return to the US for health issues and still sell our apartment for more than a year.
It sounds like you’ve become an expert on buying property in Panama. I am amazed you had the energy and funds to learn so much from your experiences while purchasing & remodeling your property. And everything has turned out so beautifully. I could not do all that alone. But you did!!🤩👏🏻❤
@@lyric8006 I would not say an expert, but certainly have learned a lot! There was a time when I didn’t believe I could do any of this alone, but I worked on my confidence in myself ✨
Patty, Another excellent video. You could have a series of videos just on Real Estate & how things differ from the US & Panama. I've been a Realtor for 30 years in California & I find the differences so vast. I've seen things here in Panama with how Realtors here that if I had done the same thing in the US, I would have lost my license & been serving jail time.
@@mtngrl5859 That’s a good idea. Must have been shocking when you saw the big difference/ethics. Justice seems to be served more slowly here in some cases.
@@Pattybluehayes You would be a good Realtor here, you are so patient! Yes, certain things are really shocking. Certain things consumers don't think about in the US, one has to think of here. For example, I live in a gated community and things like the expanding power grid and water needs were not calculated into with the number of lots in the community. Per planning in the US, all of those issues have to be calculated before a community can be approved.
Interesting......no escrow. I was just thinking why the example of the seller with $15,000 back taxes wouldn't put $15,000 into escrow at the sale of the property so the taxes could be paid the day the sale is made. Guess you can't do that without escrow. : )
they have to have the taxes paid before they can even complete the sale. Which is why so many places cannot be sold because the seller doesn't have the money to pay the taxes. It's not like the US where you can have your property taken away if you don't pay the taxes.
Boy, thank you for info because I could not afford a 5000.00 mistake although the scams are getting trickier and everyone is corrupt, what about just renting?
Wow, thank you, Patty. This video is filled with loads of helpful, thoughtful, and intelligent advice!

Renting is a great option!!!
Too much red tape in Panama,
