    So I just used your instructions to change the furniture on my 1301 and I cannot thank you enough! Thank you for doing this video. So many small details that you touched on that I had questions about were covered in this video. When I fit my Zhukov front stock, there was a space between the main stock and small upper section that just didn't look right, but everything was tight. I took a really close look at your video and it was clear I needed to do some more fitting on my stock. Worked it over some more and it fits snug. For the Magpul stock installation, I knew about the flats on the bolt near where it attached, but I didn't notice the flats on the far end. It was so much simpler using the far end flats to get a grip with the wrench to remove the stock bolt. Huge help!

    Picked up a 1301 about six weeks ago. Went with the LE pistol grip, Firing prone no longer means getting rapped in the face with my own knuckles with the pistol grip. I'm going broke drilling with it. Heavy eater and buckshot isn't free unless someone is sending it your way in anger. Love the platform even more than my M4. Its light, fast, simple, has a bolt release that you can actuate without having to feel around for and the price was right.

    Put a QD socket on the Zhukov, but be sure to file the screws down flush with the MLok nut or it will interfere with the action bars. Also GG&G has a heat shield that attaches to the Zhukov guard and covers the top of the barrel. GG&G also sells steel barrel clamps and mag tube covers. The Magpul stock has holes on either side for QD mounts ( sold separately).

    I purchased the 1301 follower for my mod 2. The GG&G follower is about a millimeter longer than the OEM follower. It's just long enough to turn your 7 round tube into a 6 shot tube even with the plastic plug removed. I put my OEM back in. It's not worth a round to see a red spot on the follower.

    I never understood paying a third party to install aftermarket accessories on a gun. DIY is the way to go. Better yet, don't even install unnecessary accessories. That's harder to resist for most people (including me) but I've drilled and mounted lights to forends on a number of different models which had no "factory" mounting solution. Same with slings. Guys used to cut stocks down themselves too before there were aftermarket options for most guns.

    did you have to use a specialized light mount with modified screws to attach a light to the GGG/Zhukov hand guard? I have read that standard light Mlok mounts can interfere with the B Link system don't know how true that is tho

  •  11 месяцев назад

    Yeah, it's not perfect, but it's still the best. I had to install a higher cheek riser on my SGA stock, replaced the Zukov with a Briley heat shield/foregrip, and added a pro-lifter on my LTT 1301. However, it weighs in a little heavier at 8.2 pounds.

    Been enjoying all your 1301 vids keep ‘em comin’. I’m in the middle of a 1301 build myself, though still in the early stages. I decided to stick with the factory stock, main reason being that I want the option to put another esstac on it. For the same reason I installed rear qd base into left side of the buttstock. Put a LimbSaver on it and the LOP still feels great. BFG sling. Just ordered the pro lifter. I’m gonna go with the Briley hand guard. It’s all aluminum, wraps the entire barrel, has m-lok out the yin yang and looks even more badass than the Zhukov, all for a mere $335 (owie!). Then all that’s left is Briley trigger, aluminum mag tube cover and barrel clamp, stainless steel follower, $300 light, $500 optic, a prepper’s wet dream worth of shells, and I thiiiink that’s it. Ugh, I’m gonna go broke trickin’ this thing out, but that’s half the fun isn’t it.

    Cruiser ready usually means trigger pulled. However, I dig the other option because safety is paramount for me. I train to work the safety (AR15) all the time. So it's just normal to do that.
    I do have a but/however, though. That being a cross bolt safety. It's more complex than an AR selector. I'll have to play with 1301 to decide which I prefer. Thankfully I know a guy who has one ;-)

    • @YourFavoriteLibertarian
      @YourFavoriteLibertarian  Год назад +1

      With the Beretta 1301, you don't have to pull the trigger, but you can if you want. The round (ghost load) on the lifter will load either way when you rack it.
      The safety is intuitive. Keep your trigger finger straight and away from the trigger guard, and then as you come down to the trigger guard, push your straight finger against the safety. It will then be in the fire position, and you can proceed to the trigger to pull it.

    Ghost loading and cruiser ready are not the same or interchangeable terms. Cruiser ready with a pump was 4 loaded in the tube with the bolt home and trigger pulled so when the shotgun came out it could be racked without using the small release button. Cruiser ready in a semi is a fully loaded tube with one round on the carrier but no round in the chamber so when the gun comes out all that needs to be done is to rack the bolt, now cops will not use your method to put a round on the carrier they will simply press that shell release button get a round out of the magazine. Ghost loading is when you fill the magazine tube then put one round on the carrier and one round in the chamber, making it a 7 +1 +1 loading or having 9 rounds ready to go, cops don’t do this its just too slow and tedious. Hope this made sense.

      That happened to me trying to unload my 1301. I have your exact gun. The Gen 3. I just took a thin screwdriver and pushed the shells back into the tube and freed up the loader. Definitely not a fun thing to have happen.

    That blaster came out looking great. Would it have been cheaper to source each of the LTT/Magpul parts individually? Looks like you have more than 1500 invested into this which in the long run is worth it for such a reliable shotty that will perform at such a high level. Have an awesome weekend, thanks for taking us along!

    • @YourFavoriteLibertarian
      @YourFavoriteLibertarian  Год назад

      Thanks! It's hard to say as prices on some of these things fluctuate. But I know you can get most of the parts directly from GG&G. I didn't see the magpul mossberg 500/590 sga stock on GG&G's website, though. If you find a good deal on the stock, maybe you could peice it together for cheaper.
      For me, I bought from LTT to save on multiple shipping costs and make sure I had all the parts I needed.

      Once I add the Cheek Risers and QD, I'll be at $1,900. Compared to a bone stock Benelli M4, I'm still at less than one of those, and it's completely set up the way I want it for HD.
      Granted, I still want to add a red dot, but I would be adding one regardless of which shotgun I went with.

    • @YourFavoriteLibertarian

      I would ask customer service at Langdon tactical, but my guess is no. It has a different operating system in the forend, and I believe the receiver is slightly different as well for stocks.
      I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't working on a kit for that one, though.

    Firstly I am not at all religious. If you could see your way clear to say a prayer or two for me, I would truly appreciate and relish it. Thank you!
    Glad to see you back with the fighting shotgun!!!! I have missed that a lot!
    That green you have chosen is outstanding and very nice!
    I have the full LTT gen 2 1301. It has the full Aridus Industries set.
    The low mount does work well for that red dot.
    It also has the Aridus QD Shell Carrier. It works ok and is expensive! I would now put the Esstac Card setup on and be done with it.
    Oh, mine is in FDE furniture.
    Although I am not a fan of lights on guns, I do find that Streamlight setup you have quite interesting. I might consider it?
    I don't like pressure switches at all on anything!
    Keep up the good fighting shotgun content!!!!!!!
    How about moving up to the Benelli m4 and giving it the YFL treatment?
    Again, good stuff!!!!

      I'm glad you're digging the series so far. I love shotguns. Once this one is all squared away, I might tackle the Mossberg 930 JM Pro Series Tactical Class I have. I'd like to compare those 2 as they operate differently and are vastly different price points.

    Note 1: you should have tried to switch the fold ring to raise che buttstock, before changing anything. Maybe you did before the video. Note 2: the clamp is only in the US version. the original italian one is sold without clamp and tube extension. Note 3: it should be compatible with mossberg so there a lot of stocks to choose other than the most advertised. Note 4: now is a slight more complicated and slower to dissamble than the original setup. Note 5: you can swith the ramp with the competition one that stays up when you feed it, so you are faster and it's easier. very cheap upgrade. Question 1: what's the point of cerakote plastic? there's no metal to protect, wasn't paint for plastics enought...

    • @YourFavoriteLibertarian
      @YourFavoriteLibertarian  10 месяцев назад +1

      I tried the various buttstock ring positions, and it wasn't even close to moving the angle of the stock enough. It would work great if this didn't have ghost right sights, though.

    • @YourFavoriteLibertarian

      I listed the deferences between them, at the time of filming, 3 generations. One of which being that the 3rd Gen is made in the States and has a full-length tubular magazine with a plastic cover over it along with the plastic barrel/magazine clamp.

    • @YourFavoriteLibertarian
      @YourFavoriteLibertarian  10 месяцев назад +1

      The only reason it's compatible with the mossberg stock, is the adapter that comes in the kit or is sold separately. So you'll still need an adapter before you go off and buy any mossberg stock.

    How about you dont buy anymore tacticool crap that wont make you a capable shooter. You need a sling, a TQ and a light, and that's it. Go take a fighting shotgun class, with Tactical Response. You dont need an rmr sight. It will just jettison itself off bc of high recoil.
