I'm decided just last night to make a lap quilt for my 90 year old MIL for Christmas. Today I was looking for videos about cutting a lot of fabric into jellyroll strips at once, and yours was the most helpful! Then I can apply the same technique to cut them into 6 inch strips. Your thoughtful instruction is going to save me so much time! Wishing you a happy holiday season.
Thank you so much! Happy it was helpful..Happy Holidays to you too….Thank you for watching😊

Still a beginner here - I also place a handweight on top of my ruler to keep it from moving. (I learned that trick from another online video.)
You’re welcome thanks for watching! The hand weight sure does help. Thanks for commenting 😊
Thank you I have been looking for a video like this .I am a beginner and this is so easy to understand and your advice is given in a very calm manner and with plenty of time to follow along to.
I will now be able to cut my srips with confidence.

I learn a lot I have b trouble keeping my fabric straight
It can be so hard it just takes lots of practice. Thank you for watching . It will get easier. 😊
I just came across your video on cutting strips and I would love to know what brand cutting mat your smaller one is. Even though I am still able to quilt, my eyes are problematic and have difficulty sometimes seeing the edge of my dark fabric when I place it on my dark cutting mat and I have been looking for one that is dark on one side and white on the other like yours is. Please help me!
My cutting mat is a Fiskcars . I bought it at Walmart. I believe when I bought it that it came in a kit with 3 pieces, a mat, a rotary cutter, and a clear 2 1/2 inch by 18 inch ruler. I think I paid around $25.00 for it. Thank you for watching! 😊❤️
How important was the first fold
Hi Kelly
The reason I have the first fold and a second fold is because my ruler wasn’t long enough, so I folded again so it would fit under my ruler. I was cutting yardage. If your cutting just say a jelly roll, then it probably won’t be necessary to fold it unless your working with a smaller ruler. I hope this was helpful. Thank you for watching! 😊
