Alright let me say this so everyone understands. I made a video a few days ago explaining that its hard for me to take everything in at once. I pause frequently for MANY reasons. 1st, I cant give you an honest reaction if i cant comprehend what I'm hearing/seeing. This is my reaction and breakdown of the song, not a jam session to just watch me bob my head. If ya'll wanna hear the whole song, go watch it. 2nd, I HAVE to pause semi frequently and actually REACT due to copyright issues. If i don't the video will be blocked worldwide and no one will see it. Its unrealistic to expect me to listen to this and comprehend the music and lyrics all at once on my 1st time ever hearing this band. Ya'll know the song/band and what's coming, I don't. Show some grace to a new fan.
Just ignore them. Haters have only one purpose in life: to hate, no matter what! Always the same few people. On every reaction video. The majority of us is kind and appreciative.
I would rather see someone pause a bunch in excitement than listen and say that's nice and move on. Most NW fans are great and courteous. Once you get a feel for them, you might not feel the need to pause as much, but you are experiencing something brand new. It's natural to be excited about it. Keep going Lanae.. ❤and ✌️
Yeah, so true, don't mind them. It's your channel, so keep doing you. Pause if you feel you need to, but in all honesty, I've only heard of 3 Nightwish videos being blocked. It's usually not an issue with NW, but most reactors do pause 1 or 2 times. But if you need to pause away!! 😂❤️
Hello Lanae [ @lanaeshonestopinion ] ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community
It literally does. lol. It doesn’t give me goosebumps or anything like that, but it does resonate in my sinuses and make my nose tingle, which in turn physically brings tears to my eyes. There’s certain notes she hits that just cause my head to vibrate like a gong.
Congrats on your first Floorgasm! (goosebumps, tears in the eyes, inability to form words afterwards, etc.)!!! If you keep following this band, you'll have many more to come!
Our Valkyrie goddess has captured another soul. Your reaction is that of all of us hearing Nightwish with Floor Jansen for the first time. You’ve struck gold in a very rich musical vein. You’re at the beginning of a very fun ride. This 2013 Wacken concert is magical from start to finish, and there is much more in the concerts of following years. But THIS 2013 concert is the best place to enjoy first. It is like a “Best of Nightwish” compilation; every song is different, and every one is a banger. It provides an excellent foundation for what is to come from this band. Welcome to the Nightwish Army. Cheers from Southern California.
Lana, dear Lana! your reaction is the purest and most sincere, and tears of admiration for this amazing music, like me and many viewers. Thank you for your sensitivity and sincerity.
Awesome reaction! So pure and natural, don't apologise for pausing and replaying. Floor and Nightwish have this effect on many people. Amazing piece of music and the best singer ever!
Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! 6'1'' Dutch Valkyrie Goddess spotted ! Gabriel Bardac entered ! This is called Symphonic Metal !!! Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6) and the most versatile singer in our time !!! She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. And Yesterwynde is the upcoming tenth studio album, and is set to be released on 20 September 2024 by Nuclear Blast. And the master of this magic is: Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people (one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany). The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival. We hope, that there is more coming. So, Take Gabriel's list as a guide to your journey. We are on Standby mode for now .... NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA 🤘😎🤘.
I haven’t commented on a reaction in ages, but just had to say how much I loved the enthusiasm you have! It’s awesome to see someone who is hopelessly captivated by them, and the realization that they have just opened a door that will never close. This is what the internet was made for!
Hi Lanae and welcome to Nightwish and symphonic metal. The 6 foot, Dutch Goddess of all things vocal is Floor Jansen. Thank you for taking the leap into the Nightwish rabbit hole. You're going to love this journey. The rabbit hole goes deep, so buckle up and enjoy the ride. But the best part??.... Nightwish DOES tour the US. I went to see them in NYC at Terminal 5 on May 8, 2022. It was as magical as you saw here in your reaction. An evening I will never forget. Much more music and magic in store for you. I see Gabriel Bardac, General of the Nightwish Army, already popped in to greet you. Follow the blueprint he left you, as it will make the most of your experience and more enjoyable. The Army will fill you in on any questions you may have about the band, members, songs, etc.... so ask away during your reactions. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. Oh.... Nightwish fan from NJ here. Cheers! 😊❤️🤘🤘
A Big welcome to the Nightwish Universe from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰 Keep them coming and you will be blown away - this is music on another level. Deep poetic lyrics, compositions buildt in chapters as symphony music - and the most powerful versatile talented and skilled storyteller ever, in front. And you will meet the Nightwish Army - a few hundred thousand very keen and friendly fans from all over the world, very eager to help you learn about the Nightwish. Universe. And don't worry - you haven't even experienced 5% of Floor's and Nightwish's capabilities...
This is the 13th song of a 15 song set , the stamina is amazing , this whole concert is epic , shout out to the drummer . I bought this CD last summer when i first heard this song
Goosebumps galore always with Floor fronting this phenomenal band. A transcendental experience. Two years ago I had somehow not heard of Nightwish or Floor then I watched "The Poet and the Pendulum" live from Wembley 2015 and I was blown away and have been every day since. 🙏😊👍❤️
Great reaction. Nightwish is a symphonic metal band, but their music varies from more ballads to grungy metal. Floor is their third singer and her versatilaty is unmatched. You can always hear the Nightwish signature in every song, composer Tuomas Holopainen is a true mastermind. Maybe it sounds weird, but it is true, the last Nightwish song you heard will be your favorite, no matter in what order you hear them. welcome to the rabbithole that is Nightwish and enjoy your musical journey that has started with this lovely reaction. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Greetings from the Northern New England Division of the Nightwish Army. Loved your reaction to this song and Symphonic Metal, the glorious mash up of symphonic composition, orchestral instruments, and heavy metal. The crazy pipe thing on stage is the keyboard stand for Tuomas Holopainen, the main songwriter and poetic genius of the band. It is modeled on the Sibelius Monument in Helsinki, Finland. Jean Sibelius is one of the most famous classical composers from Finland and Tuomas is a big fan since he, like most of the band, is Finnish. The exceptions are their lead singer Floor Jansen who is Dutch and multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley who is English and is not on stage for this song. Troy comes from a trad/folk background and is best known for his playing of the Uillean pipes (Irish bagpipes) and Irish Whistles but he also plays guitar, bouzouki, aerophone, and also sings. That section after the orchestral interlude reminds many people of a pirate tune. Tuomas is a big fan of movie soundtracks, especially those by Hans Zimmer and Disney so very intentional that this song feels very cinematic (it does have score in it's title!). General Gabriel and other will give you more info and recommendations for Nightwish but I would like to recommend another Symphonic Metal Band, Epica. They are Dutch and also have a classically trained frontwoman named Simone Simons. They tend to be darker, heavier and more symphonic then Nightwish and I love both of the bands. I like to recommend Unleashed live from their 10th Anniversary Retrospect concert where they had a full orchestra and choir on stage as a good introduction to the band.
Good backround. And I undestand that Lanae was overwhelmed by Floor, but don't forget the song, and the band. Tuomas behind the keyboards is the one composing and writing all this, and most of the songs are very pesonal to him. He's an epic composer, and the band is doing a phenonemal job, making all this work in a live situation.
Hello Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. They are from Finland. And they make Symphonic Metal. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your heart. And that's what makes this band so unique. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. There were 82,000 people there. I happily refer you to Gabriel Bardac's comment (he'll be here soon) for a list with lots of song suggestion. Watch out for the Nightwish Army. Greetings from the Netherlands.
What a reaction! Many thanks! You have now discoverd the world of Nightwish! There is so much to find out there! This was from a full concert at one of the greatest Metal festivals (Wacken, Germany). For me this concert from Wacken 2013 is one of the top 5 of all time! They did a DVD from this concert called "Showtime, Storytime". Nightwish at its best and Floor Jansen with a voice performance out of this world for 90 minutes! I look this concert 1-2 times every year and get always goosebumps! But there are many more to discover!!!
Welcome to the magical world of symphonic metal and Nightwish. This is one of the most epic live performances EVER. Glad you liked, and greetings from Finland! ⛄👍
This never gets old - watching someone experience a new aesthetic which is a million miles away from the cynical 'music business'. Checkout their song 'Story time' from the same gig and you'll never look back.
Being "Symphonic Metal" allows them to take their music just about anywhere. They have the grand, epic style songs like this one, but also have several of the more standard heavy metal style songs as well... and just about everything in between. But, no matter what the basic style song they are going for... they will all have those signature symphonic elements in the background to give the music that full, rich sound. Welcome, to the Nightwish Army...
Lanae. Welcome to the rabbit hole. Nightwish were headlining the 2013 Wacken (Vahkan) festival in front of 82,000 people. They did a 15 songs set and every song is different and every one is a banger. Check out Romanticide next (meet the 2nd singer) followed by Storytime, Song Of Myself and Ever Dream. You will love them. Floor Jansen (Yansen) is Nightwish's 3rd lead singer and had been with the band for 10 months when this festival took place. She is probably the most versatile singer in the world and can sing anything.
We know what you mean, but to describe Marko as the second singer in the same paragraph as saying that Floor is the third singer might seem a little confusing to someone who doesn't know the history. Better to say that Marko also sings.
“She’s getting some rasp now “ Operatic to pure growling She can do anything ❤ Love your reaction, they get me every time with this song with the goosebumps and the tears 💕
About the Lyrics, Tuomas can be very poetic in his Lyrics, and when he mentions "The Child" or "the boy" he is referring to himself. And its not unsual that it takes several reads/listen before getting the meaning, and even then it can take a bit more knowlegde about the Band and the history of it.Its not every song but several songs. Nightwish is a Live Band, with that I mean they are good on Studio Albums, but its Live they shine. My personal opinion is that its Live you see what Bands really can do when they don't have the "Studio Magic" behind them, and you can also see their Charisma, the interaction with each other and Audience. One piece of advice, don't compare the different Singers directly, Wars have been started for less than that. Anyway I loved you reaction, and hope to see you reactions in the future. Greetings from Denmark
Gabriel has a list of song at the bottom of his comments, with links, they are all the good songs that the nightwish army loves. Can't go wrong with his list. Usually STORYTIME is next. Same concert you will love it, that was a great reaction, glad to see you enjoyed it like I did the first time. More please.
I grew up listening to the likes of Metallica, Maiden, Judas Priest, and a cornucopia of other non-metal music in my life, but had only heard of Nightwish in passing about six or seven years ago. It has only been the past month and a half that I've actually given them a listen, and I am glad I did. I've only heard a few songs of theirs so far as I did pull them off a feature female metal playlist, but so far....every song's an anthem. The compositions and Floor Jansen's vocals...well, to pardon the pun, floored me. Someone else in the comments coined it Floorgasm. Well done, pretty friggin 'accurate. So you aren't alone in the discovery and analysis, Lanae. Happy listening!
Nobody is ever quite ready for Nightwish 😁 The excitement and tears are pretty much what happens when you listen to them. One thing that I will say is that you are definitely one of us. Much love from the NW army New York 🤗
And that's what we love 😍Floor ❤❤❤ and Nightwish , for the gorgeous vocals of our queen and the amazing music played by the guys . Absolutely fantastic reaction . You are very lively😘 and i like that
Yeah, that's how you do it, that's how you make even the angels weep. We're talking about the most reacted song and the most searched female metal artist in the world (officially), and now you know why. Congratulations on your first Floorgasm, welcome!
Welcome to the Nightwish rabbit hole, Lanae. You are in for quite a ride if you continue reacting to this amazing band. You will get lots of messages from the fans. You are in good hands. Just pick any song and you will not be disappointed. Always great to see someone experience NW for the first time. It is life-changing. Keep up the great work. looking forward to your next vid. Greetings from the Nightwish Army (Sydney, Australia Division) 🤘
Floor and nightwish is amazing. You will shed more tears i promise. Im convinced you have no soul if you dont cry to at least 3 nightwish songs. Babymetal Nightwish One ok rock Gotta have the best live shows on the planet currently.
@@randomman4938 that one "we are fes 18" gives me prickles down my spine everytime. Also the live "take what you want" is stunningly beautiful. They put on a amazing show and change their songs up sometimes live that adds a new touch and keeps it magical.
You tear up because the human heart is moved by art, and some hearts are bigger than others. And this is world-class art. And your heart is huge. Loved your reaction. 💘
Bavarian Nightwish army here! I appreciate your unique reaction, Lanae - just forget the haters.........I personally prefer reactions like yours rather than a "playthrough". ;-) This song was originally sung by Nightwishs first singer, Tarja Turunen, which was great in its way. But Floor took it on a massive new level - she added some additional vocal parts and freaking hell........it´s just AMAZING! Back in 2013 I´ve been part of the audience at Wacken when this live footage was taken - it´s been the best concert I´ve ever been so far! Anette Olzon was a decent singer too (for example "Amaranth", "Eva" from "Dark Passion Play") - but unfortunately her voice and vocal range didn´t fit the old "Tarja"-songs - because they were much more "operatic". Although I love the two albums where she was singing, too. Tuomas wrote the songs accordingly to Anettes vocal range - so it sounded pretty nice.
Great reaction!! Welcome to the world of Nightwish!! You have entered a very deep rabbit hole, where every song is different with unexpected twists and turns. Virtuoso musicians, a genius songwriter (Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player whom many call the "metal Mozart" is a master of emotion and melody), and the best lead singer alive today (Floor Jansen can sing anything, from operatic highs to full metal growls) - and bassist Marco Hietala is a metal legend and also has an incredible voice (and when he sings harmony with Floor - it is pure gold). Nightwish is one of the best live bands of all time
Hey Lanae welcome to a fantastical journey with Nightwish and their living Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen. And a note that this particular song is the most reacted to song on RUclips. Just love your energy 💥💥💥💥💥
I am pleased to welcome you to the wonderful astypaleaworld of Nightwish from the UK Oldies Division (East Anglian branch) of Nightwish Army. As you delve deeper into their music (as I hope you will) you will find many diverse songs. Symphonic metal is the official genre, but you will find songs ranging from metal to ballads and even a jazz track. I have subscribed to your channel in the hope that you'll keep on watching and listening to Nightwish, especially their live recordings. I saw them live at Wembley in November 2022 and it was the most amazing unforgettable experience. To hear more from them, I suggest you follow Gabriel's list or pick and mix from it. I have followed Nightwish for some time now and all the compositions and musicianship never fail to please. Looking forward to your next reaction.
Your reaction to that live recording is excellent. My favorite performance is the one in Buenos Aires. I suggest listening to that one on Halloween. That is when you really get to experience the powers of the Night‼️😉👍⚡️🌙
This was awesome.😊 So that’s how it feels to meet one of the best singers of our generation (“one of” being a conservative estimate). And the rest of the band aren’t too shabby themselves either. :) There’s a lot of good music out there - outside the US especially, although there’s some within as well. General Gabe & his staff are gonna tell you all about Nightwish. I on the other hand am gonna use this opportunity to draw your attention to another fantastic singer (and band) who actually was once an idol and role model for the beautiful lady you saw here. Check out The Gathering - “Travel” live at Doornroosje. Different style, but it’s good stuff, I assure you.
What a heartfelt and genuine reaction to the greatest band in the world. I love to watch peoples initial reaction to Nightwish, as it reminds me of my first Nightwish 'experience'. Subscribed.
What a fucking experience!!! Well said! You just witnessed the very very very best performance of all times. Period. Fasten your seatbelts. Nightwish does not do bad songs. They are the best of the best. And Floor........she is not human. She was send here from the Andromeda Galaxy to bring beauty and happiness to those wicked earthlings. I wish you many happy discoveries. You will divide your life into times before Nightwish and times a.d. Nightwish. 😉
Enjoy the nightwish ride, many very good albums and the contrast of a deep colored voice and this singers lite colored voice makes the same songs sound different sometimes. The first 7 albums are the best.
You met The Goddess! To your credit, you figured that out on your own, and early on. This band is *incredible*; you’ve barely even scratched the surface. With Floor out front? They’re otherworldly. Have fun on your journey down the rabbit hole… -NW Army, western NC Battalion
This was a perfect reaction. We expect pauses. Backing up 5-10 seconds gets you back into the tempo, kudos. This piece in Buenos Aires, a more intimate venue, showcases the band and crowd interaction. Every member a gifted musician. BTW, your reaction gave me goosebumps.
Great reaction Lanae, it's good to see another reactor discover NW awesomeness! I love your passion and awe, it reminds us of our 1st experiences with NW. Please continue your journey into NW and symphonic metal, you won't regret it. ❤and✌️
I mean it gets better every time! Thanks for the react. For me, behind the music, is always the lyrics. In NW lyrics are key, I would advice to pay attention to EVERY single word ❤ adds to the magic and always tell a story
There is a simple explanation: others sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants. That's it. And that's the reason why so many people have goosebumps when they are listening to Floor. So Nightwish is the perfect band for Floor. And Floor is the perfect singer for Nightwish. Nothing more to say.
1st, thanks for reacting....this is an incredibly difficult composition/score to perform.....props to the band, the orchestra, the choir and , of course, Floor for an excellent performance.....I think I even heard a bit of the 'Carmina Burana' in the music.....gives one "FLOORgasms"! .........you have me as a new sub !
There's this one girl in the audience, we see her twice on camera, once during the interlude and once later and she has this big smile on her face. That right there is exactly why I love going to live shows! When you get into it, it's the time of your life!
You get my Like for the iconic "giant clam" description of Tuomas' outlandish organ prop for this show! Not only for that, but that alone would do! :) P. S.: The choir (and the faithful crowd) in the chorus keep singing a pretty substantial line that is not reproduced in the subtitles, basically: "You were the one to cut me, so now I'll bleed forever." P. P. S.: You are not alone in being moved to greater deeds by this girl's voice, commanding power and disarming emotion in one - she is a Valkyrie. If you know them, good; if not, look them up. You will agree. P. P. P. S.: You are legit. Welcome to the Army.
Hi Lanae. Thanks for your emotional reactions. You pinpointed exactly the same things and reacted just like I did some half year ago. The music of Nightwish with its beauty have captured me ever since.
Singers sing what they can, Floor Jansen sings what she wants ❤once she sang the phonebook in a Dutch radioshow ❤and It sound like a real song ❤her voice just touch your soul and grab your heart ❤she is one of a kind ❤our Valkyrie queen ❤
you have to pause to get everything because there is SO much! Good job! Nightwish Army, Blue Mountains Corps, Australia. Nightwish since 1996. What Gabriel said! Goddess, yes! Floor is for real the mother of Freya and Lucy - in Norse mythology the mother of the Goddess Freya is the Goddess Nerthus (like Gaia)! edit: Nice Floorgasms! (goosebumps, chills, tears, emotional overload....!)
If I remember correctly, the band knew this was to be recorded. There was a great number og cameras all over, and it put som exra pressure to the band members. But as we all see; they did a fantastic performance 😍 This live recording sounds much better than i fI stream it on Spotify. This version is the one that eeryone loves !👍❤
I also live in the US I found Nightwish over 15 years ago , I was listening to a band Within Temptation from the Netherlands. They introduced me to symphonic metal. I found Nightwish then and never listened really anything else. Each band has a totally awesome female lead singer and such beautiful, emotional song writing.
When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen besides Nightwish, here is some background information on the best and most versitale female singer of our time. Floor joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. Here are some of my favourites: ‘Energize me’; Monolith of Doubt’ and Dreamflight’. Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera). 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song from full operatic to death growls in seconds. Here are some examples: ‘Misery’s no Crime’, ‘Wild card’ and ‘Disdain’. Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’ Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp’ also, but it was clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so 'Revamp' disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on RUclips. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ and to see her in full opera mode, watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered RUclips in these years. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish. Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solotour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album ‘My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton), daughters Freja (turned 7 years this march) and Lucy (born last october) ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats, she found this.
Most entertaining Floorgasm I've seen so far. Don't worry, kiddo, we all lost it when we first heard/saw it. Great music and song, a great intro to a great band and vocalist. Enter the rabbit-hole,
Great reaction video. Sincere and honest. You've witnessed probably the best live act ever. I've watched it a couple of hundred times now and still get goosebumps. It's insane, absolutely insane. You just got Floored 🙂
Oh, you've been missing out! This band, with original, second, and this third singer have given emotions that you can grab hold of. Cinematic, members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra are playing on the backing track (They loved it too!) Floor has a special way of engaging with the audience, she is a Commander, clean voice, then gritty! All the band members are awsome in their own way, but together... Wow!
This is the BEST reaction video to this performance. Please watch the whole Wacken 2013 concert, starting with Dark Chest of Wonders. The whole concert is amazing all the way through. I bought the Showtime, Storytime dvd (Wacken 2013) and have watched it all the way through many times. Still can't get enough. Mesmerizing. Truly. Also, you did select the correct video. Should you choose to experience the other songs from this concert, please make sure to find the videos that are at the correct speed. Some of them are pitched down.
Take no notice of them - they do NOT represent the vast majority of the Nightwish Army 😊
❤and ✌️
@@jkopacetick Same here. I'm here for the reaction/the person reacting. If I want to hear the song uninterrupted I take the DVD.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "

Have a great weekend General Gabriel 🫡
I love how people are still discovering Nightwish and reacting to this live recording more than 10 years on.
It's a well known fact that Floors voice resonates at a frequency that pierces your emotional core.
floorgasm, the valkyrie goddess has powers beyond normal folk
Agree 100%, Floor pierces right through me/us, making us Floorgasm and big hairy burly men cry; often simultaneously!
👍👍😜😜👍👍
😂 jep so good 😂.
Looks like a Goddess because she is The Goddess of metal. Welcome to the magical world of nightwish best live band on the planet imho.
true
If we each had a dollar for every time a reactor gets goosebumps listening to Floor.
We’d be rich!
Nightwish is something that connects people and once you've heard them you' re stuck with them. Greetings from Finland, home of Nightwish🤘
I must thank your nation for producing this wonderful band !!!
“We still have 3.5 minutes to go, bring it”
(Nightwish Army laughing… oh it’s coming, the next couple minutes will knock your socks off!)
Like and subscribe if you'd like to see more of me 😊❤
Done!
Best female singer on the planet floor jansen fact she can sing any style
And the master of this magic is:
Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish)
Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics.

Floor Jansen is the Valkyrie Queen. A vocal goddess!🤘🎸Welcome to the world of Nightwish symphonic Metal!🤘🎸
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 well done Lanae and welcome to the Nightwish Family, you are a true asset to the Nightwish Family
Cheers!
😊❤️🤘🤘
A Big welcome to the Nightwish Universe from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰
Keep them coming and you will be blown away - this is music on another level.
Lige præcis ❤
Hello
Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands.
Great reaction to one of the very greatest bands and singers in the world and an all time classic live performance. Welcome to Nightwish and Floor!!
Floor Jansen, Vlakyrie Goddess of Nightwish has taken another soul. We want more Nighwish. Very good reaction. Greetings from Finland.
Watching people be happy that they discovered Nightwish makes me happy.
Welcome in the family ! 🤘
Hi Lanae!...greetings from Colombia and welcome to Nightwish world!...
Keep on diving deeper!
Tears in your eyes and a smile on your face means you have been Nightwished!
Greetings from 🇫🇮
Most singers sing what they can , Floor sings anything and every thing ,,Greetings from UK ,,😎
Including the phone book😊
@@davidbarrass5210 👍 Yes including the Phone book 👍
@@pancentricism Point taken.
One more Nightwish fan.
Welcome.
Welcome to Nightwish, greetings from Colombia
Hello from Finland. 😍
Nice to have you whit us Nightwish fans.❤
I really liked yous honest reaction.😊 Cant wait you to jump into next one.❣️
“She’s getting some rasp now “
Operatic to pure growling
She can do anything ❤
Love your reaction, they get me every time with this song with the goosebumps and the tears 💕
Didn't expect to wake up and join an army did ya?
No I did not! 😂❤
Welcome to the Nightwish family. Greetings from Greece.

One ok rock
Gotta have the best live shows on the planet currently.
The live versions of “We Are” by One Ok Rock, get me every time. Watching those kids singing along so heartily.
@@randomman4938 that one "we are fes 18" gives me prickles down my spine everytime. Also the live "take what you want" is stunningly beautiful. They put on a amazing show and change their songs up sometimes live that adds a new touch and keeps it magical.
This Genre of Music IMO is not Symphonic Metal it is Beautiful Wonderful Metal😉Fantastic Reaction to the Greatest Live Band Ever💥
Greetings from 🇨🇦, welcome to Nightwish !! Keep em coming please 🤘🏼💥🤘🏼
You tear up because the human heart is moved by art, and some hearts are bigger than others. And this is world-class art. And your heart is huge. Loved your reaction. 💘
Bavarian Nightwish army here!
I appreciate your unique reaction, Lanae - just forget the haters.........I personally prefer reactions like yours rather than a "playthrough". ;-)
This song was originally sung by Nightwishs first singer, Tarja Turunen, which was great in its way.
Welcome to the rabbit hole, we reserved a nice warm place for you!
Nightwish is one of the best live bands of all time
She is the Warrior Princess!!! Much more to hear from Nightwish!!!
This never gets old. Nightwish hooked another one.. And the Valkyrie Queen isn't even on stage yet.. Brilliant reaction..
Floor Jansen the Dutch goddess of metal ❤❤
Your reaction to that live recording is excellent. My favorite performance is the one in Buenos Aires. I suggest listening to that one on Halloween. That is when you really get to experience the powers of the Night‼️😉👍⚡️🌙
This was awesome.😊
So that’s how it feels to meet one of the best singers of our generation (“one of” being a conservative estimate).
Great reaction. I love your reaction. Make more videos with nightwish and i ll find you
Welcome to the Nightwish Army from Arizona and enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole. For future reactions, Gabriel's list is second to none!
Your reaction was amazing Floor is Queen of Metal
Nightwish. 😉
She is the most versatile vocal. Watching her singing on the stage with your own eyes and ears overwhelm you.
16:18 Emppu was ready for the note, but you weren't! Texas division checking in!
Enjoy the nightwish ride, many very good albums and the contrast of a deep colored voice and this singers lite colored voice makes the same songs sound different sometimes. The first 7 albums are the best.
Floorgasm alert!!!
Multiple…..
You met The Goddess! To your credit, you figured that out on your own, and early on. This band is *incredible*; you’ve barely even scratched the surface. With Floor out front? They’re otherworldly. Have fun on your journey down the rabbit hole…
-NW Army, western NC Battalion
So, you had your first "Floorgasm". Many more will follow.
The greatest rock band founded between 1985 and 2005, in my opinion. And the greatest live band ever. Thank you for checking this out.
You get my Like for the iconic "giant clam" description of Tuomas' outlandish organ prop for this show! Not only for that, but that alone would do! :)
P. S.: The choir (and the faithful crowd) in the chorus keep singing a pretty substantial line that is not reproduced in the subtitles, basically: "You were the one to cut me, so now I'll bleed forever."
The music of Nightwish with its beauty have captured me ever since.
this is the best ''live version'' the best ever....thanks Lanae fantastic reaction...welcome in the Nightwish rabbit hole🤘💥
Greetings from Finland 🤩
Yep! This is the right one!
Nightwish... enough said! Pure musical fantastic,, wondrous, imaginative story telling
If I remember correctly, the band knew this was to be recorded. There was a great number og cameras all over, and it put som exra pressure to the band members. But as we all see; they did a fantastic performance 😍
This live recording sounds much better than i fI stream it on Spotify.
There is a documentary made of this world tour: ‘Please learn the setlist in 48 hours’
Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band.
The Greatest Show on Earth. Saw them May 15, 2022 in Denver, Colorado. After two reschedules due to covid.
Out of all the many first time hearings of this song, you my dear GOT IT! BEST reactions and the most appropriate ones! I cried with you!
Oh, you've been missing out!
This band, with original, second, and this third singer have given emotions that you can grab hold of.
Cinematic, members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra are playing on the backing track (They loved it too!)
Floor has a special way of engaging with the audience, she is a Commander, clean voice, then gritty!
Not quite sure how I got on the rabbit hole of Nightwish reactions but it's been absolutely magical seeing people encounter them for the first time.
