I remember this game very well ad I taped it but after so many moves I lost it. Oh well. Glad the Terps won their final game at Cold Field House. It was only fitting to end it that way. They went on to win the National Championship against Indiana.
Not even a Maryland fan, but I can honestly say that winning the National Championship that season was a perfect way to conclude this great season that didn't even involve a single McDonald's All-American on the roster and definitely one of the greatest teams and fans I've ever seen. I do miss Cole Field House though, it was rocking and made games more exciting than the ComCrap Center.
RIP EARL BADU!!! was thinking about this game randomly, one of the most memorable moments in sports for me, next to the National Title. Earls passing makes this even more special. Man, feel bad for him and his family. RIP man.
As a season ticket holder from '94-close of Cole, I loved being part of the cat calls to Gary to put Earl in. Earl followed in the footsteps of Matt Raydo, who used to elicit the "Rudy" calls (as the movie Rudy was out in '93). I'm sorry for Earl's family that he's not with us anymore - a terrific young man by all accounts. I'll never forget Earl, Andre and the subs coming out with the rest of the guys to sign autographs in the tunnel after the Wake Forest game. They were rock stars at Cole that season. My friend got the autograph of every team member plus staff, including Johnny Holliday to boot. Great memories...Great times
Maryland basketball will never be the same. ACC games at Cole Fieldhouse. Comcast / Xfinity Center and the Big Ten symbolize what Maryland is all about now... money money money.

At least Earl went out as part of a National Championship Team that year, they give the rings to everyone, even the subs.

As great as Cole was, the "ComCrap Center" is one of the premier facilities in college basketball so I really don't know what you're getting at.

Sadly things started to go down hill after they left Cole. As a terps fan Xfinity center is nice, but I'd give anything for Cole back.
I just personally feel that it doesn't offer the same atmosphere as Cole...Just my opinion.
