    ----
In 1973 when I was teaching Wing Chun to my students, I noticed that most students have problems keeping their elbows in while practicing the hand Techniques.
I introduced the Chi Sau ring to help them to practice the hands techniques with the ring.
After practicing with the ring most students found the rattan rings help the practitioner to keep their hands properly linked in attacks and defended positions and also helps to toughen the forearms and improve their coordination too.
Chi Sau ring became part of the training tools to help the students to progress faster.
Practice this regularly and you will find that your hands techniques will improve.

Can the chi sau ring take the place of two person sticky hands training? A lot of solo practitioners out here.

    • @austingohofficial

No, you need to practise with a person to feel the human touch and sensitivity. Chi sau ring is just a tool to help you to practise yourself

Mhmm I am not sure. If the ring would be a bit bigger, then it would be nice. Because the arms are too close to each other in my opinion. But it will help for the elbow rotation for sure

Kang Sau? It looks identical to Kwan Sau. Is it simply Kwan Sau with the Tan Sau on the inside? or is it actually a different technique than Kwan Sau.

    • @austingohofficial

      This is Kang Sau technique.

    • @VestigialHead

@@austingohofficial Yes I understand you are calling it that. Is it just the opposite side from Kwan Sau? It looks almost identical and I am struggling to understand the difference. By the way it looks as if you spell Kwan Sau Quan Sau. You spelling may be correct - just seeing Kwan all over the internet.

    • @VestigialHead

@@austingohofficial Awesome thanks. I had been teaching that as Quan sau - nice to have the correct name. The naming of the Wing Chun techniques has always been an issue as I have no Cantonese or Mandarin skills. So they take my students a while to remember. My sifu started to use English names like Wing Arm Block for Bong Sau. but I think this is not a good thing because if any student goes to another WC school they will not now the names. So I have reverted back to teaching the actual names. Even though I probably say some of them wrong because of my accent and lack of Chinese. :)
Keep up the videos - I think it is important to keep WC skills alive.
