That dust needs to be clean with protective mask,and kids should not be around. I dont want you to take me wrong,I can see you are great and smart guy but that is my opinion. Thanks! It was roughly $2,500 or so. Comparable commercial playgrounds of this size are about $15k or more though from what we saw. It required a lot of lumber being 12 feet tall. The one tower is 8 ft by 4 ft and the other is 12 ft by 5 ft. The swing deck/bridge between the towers is 2.5 ft by 11 ft. We bought everything from Home Depot (lumber) or Amazon (most accessories). It took much longer to build than I anticipated and consumed most of our summer. For perspective, I went through about 35 pounds of screws! Hopefully the kids will get good use of it for years to come though. Good luck with your project!
How did you come up with the design? Did you look at several models? I was thinking at looking at slides and swings and see what fits and go from there. Does the wood have splinters coming out versus using cedar?
+Jorge Serna I made the design myself. I really wanted something to leverage the area above the swing deck (where I built the bridge). We looked at playground systems at various places as we considered buying. That gave me ideas of pieces parts and was helpful as a sanity check for basic things like spacing between railings to be safe. I did plan out slides too so that it was built to an appropriate height to fit accessories (5 foot and 7 foot decks). The swingset is 2.25 years old and the kids have never gotten a splinter on it (although they got 3-4 during construction - but some of that was them dragging 2x4s around the yard). We did sand it the first year with an electric sander before staining it. We haven't since and just stained it the second time this past month after skipping stain last year. The playground system places use a plastic coating "stain" that holds everything in to prevent splintering, but I haven't read good things about it. I hope this helps!

Sure. I used Google Sketchup for planning. I could share that file with you. It shows a 3D model of the playground and is pretty accurate. Some changes were made on the fly during construction that I never went back to update in the file if it didn't have later impacts I wanted to think through. Most notable were changes to the circular stairs (I came up with a better way to do this while constructing them) and the roof (I haven't put this on yet, so I'm not sure I will still do it as shown... hopefully this summer).
