Man they sound so good. To be honest, I’m not sure I ever tuned my set of Sonor vintage. They were perfect from the factory and haven’t changed much. I’m pretty sure I’ve never or barely touched the toms. I’ve had to tighten the kick drum lugs a couple times. I’ve had the set for about 2 or 3 years. Whenever the rosewood first showed up in the states. They’re my favorite to play by far and I have Dw, Yamaha, Pearl, Gretsch and Tama.
That’s impressive! About 8 years ago I heard a true vintage Sonar kit for the 1st time and it was arguably as good or better than any Ludwig, Slingerland or Gretsch kit I’ve ever heard. I have Sonar, Yamaha, Premier and Ludwig sets but also love the basic Catalina mahogany kits.
That was like poetry you complemented each other beautifully. Nice to see two generations having blast together!!
Steve has been one of my favorites since 1978
